Leclerc almost loses his season-long lead in one bad session.

I kinda want george to work his magic on Max, so we can have a great fight between Lewis, the Ferraris and Checo for the win instead of Max just blasting off into the distance
What magic?

After Sky Sports reporter Ted Kravitz made reference to Lewis Hamilton being robbed of the 2021 World Championship, Max Verstappen is allegedly refusing to appear on the network during the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend.

I mean, I was hoping for an alternative explanation from the poster, since I was certainly able to join the dots to a pinned thread I wrote...

Apparently this was revealed/discussed on Sky Sports Italia, because they didn't think it was fair they were being snubbed due to an opinion broadcast on Sky Sports (UK).

Ted Kravitz is a first-class ****head.
Perhaps, but having just watched the video back I'm not sure what Verstappen's (or Verstappens', more likely) exact issue is.

Kravitz commented that Hamilton was robbed last year (something the FIA appears to agree with after saying the rules weren't correctly followed/interpreted and dismissing the race director - I'm not sure anyone disagrees with that - but also that it won't revisit the results) and that the "script" for the US GP having Hamilton beat "the man who won the race he was robbed in" in a car which is "rubbish" would have been great, but it didn't turn out that way.

He doesn't directly include Verstappen (except one mention as the guy who won the race in the longer clip), doesn't say he didn't win the race/title, doesn't blame him for the outcome, and doesn't say he doesn't deserve the title - or anything else approaching any of this. I'm sure Verstappen feels slighted by having the validity of the events of 2021 questioned, but the target of the whole thing appears to be the FIA (or Masi) - as it should be.

There's a few accounts tweeting the shorter clip, but one example is:

Of course, for balance, Sky Sports also employs Paul di Resta as a commentator, and he wouldn't be impressed by anything Hamilton did even if it turned out that Hamilton was actually Paul di Resta in disguise.

Lewis seems to have a decent top speed so hopefully he can get a great start and get ahead. If Mercedes can get in position to be one-two then should be able to defend better. Sergio tends to be one of the most aggressive first lap drivers so staying ahead of him will be difficult if he gets a good start especially as it's his home race.

Whilst F1.com shows the correct time the image F1 tweeted has the start time wrong for Europe and, bizarrely, Mexico itself.

Surprised they've not deleted it yet, a few people who go by that are going to miss 2/3 of the race!

8PM UK, 9PM CET is the correct time.

They're not as bad as usual but they're still about 3-4 kph off the Red Bull with everything equal. Factor in DRS only for RB and I can't see them staying ahead of VER even if one or both do get the jump at the start.

Check out this quali comparison. Red Bull just pulls away in traction zones and has better top end whilst the Merc is better through the slow/mid speed corners.

Oh no how sad.

Literally everyone when Crofty goes "And let's go down to Christian Horner on the Red Bull pitwall"

Why are they so upset if they won it legitimately? Ignore the troll and move on.

Unless the troll has a point…

Ooo Mercedes is on mediums. If they have decent pace on them, I'm guessing a one stopper is el plan.
