Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada 2017Formula 1

So help me, I'm completely lost on strategies at this point... what a muddle.

Then again, it's nearly 3am here, so my brains aren't in the best of shape...
Likely a 1 stop race, and if you wait to stop it is possible to get caught by a safety car and get buried.

Ocon in 2nd. Screenshot that moment.

I know a few stopped early but intended to stay on a one stop strategy. Not sure if Vettel could make his tires last 60+ laps, though.

So, Canada re-affirms my theory from before Austrailia:

>Cars look great
>Cars are super fast.
>Racing is rubbish for a number of events, and then some events like this, it's brilliant.

Great to know Canada will be staying on the schedule as well.

Also Alonso sounds like he wants to punch his engineer.

I feel that, or that he won't have the speed in the end to pass the stronger cars because his tire is so worn by the end.

That Mercedes-powered piece of bubblegum from Paki---- sorry India, sorry England, is doing quite well. Props to Ocon, always getting the job done without fuss 👍

Ocon holding off Bottas for that long is going to help Mercedes sell a lot of customer engines next season.

Talk about power parity.

Bottas showing his real speed here?

It's a bit embarrassing, not sure why he's driving a Mercedes, wasn't Ocon also one of the candidates for a Mercedes seat?

Also once again, these cars are just badly designed, race cars should produce enough draft to make overtaking possible, seems current F1 does the opposite.

Yes him and Pascal, both were loaned out to other teams needing more experience before given the shot, hence the year contract with Bottas. F1 has always made it tough to pass, they're not badly designed there is a reason that the design doesn't allow slip stream as mainstream has made it seem all to easy to do.

So they give Kvyat an additional penalty after he's served the original punishment for the same penalty. Some one tell the FIA they can't double dip...

Stroll versus Alonso, after taking forever to overtake Vandorne.

This is going to be painful.

Refreshing to see Stroll actually racing.

Not much between 3rd 4th 5th and 6th!

Ferrari believe Vettel can catch the Ricciardo train eight laps before the end.

With fresher tires.

Podium possible?
