Hopefully next year the stewards will put this to rest and enforce a simple rule saying, "Track limits will be enforced at every part of every circuit."
Mwhahahahahahahahahhaha.
Thats a good joke

One race you cant go 1cm over the white line
Next race you can go 50m over the white line.

How much of a difference could a flexi wing grant to Mercedes? I haven't taken a look. Is there a good video of this flexing in action?

It seems like the difference in Brazil was mainly due to the fresh engine.

Does anyone have the speed traps details for the straight in Qatar?....I'm curious to see the gains that Red Bull are claiming Mercedes has right now. I thought there were much faster cars than Lewis in Brazil but Horner said in the interview that They are now nearly identical to Red Bull in Qatar so I'm very curious to look at some data.
Apparently their speed is "back to normal" lol https://www.planetf1.com/news/christian-horner-mercedes-normal-speed/

Watched onboards of both Max/Lewis wings today they dont flex at all not even marginally, its more about bitterness/gamesmanship between the teams. They were scrutineering the gaps in the DRS on the RB's no doubt at behest of Mercedes after last weeks whinge fest... Hope Drive to Survive dig some dirt on this childishness should make great viewing lol

Mercedes being accused of a flexible wing past the rules is quite rich coming from Red Bull.
1. No one has footage of this happening or working, even from the rear angle cameras.
2. FIA has been all over Mercedes wing a few times and found nothing other than a part that broke.
3. Red Bull is the undisputed master of flexible wings to break the rules. Including this season when they went unpunished for designing a wing that would pass the specific loading tests the FIA used, but still deform past regulation under racing conditions. And they got no penalty and were allowed to keep running it for an additional 2 races.

4. Stop this crap you idiots (teams lawyering up) and race for crying out loud. I think half the accusations are just trying to jeep the stewards and inspectors looking at the other teams car instead of their own.

Probably been mentioned through umpteen years: just give them all the same type of kart and race for the championship. One mechanic each. Done. ;)

This has been the best season since 2012 imo, i’m certainly not complaining. The drama between teams is amusing and part of the charm!

This. 100 times this. Or even just every third round. Show up, grab a spec car by lottery and have at it!

Penalties should be a slam dunk, the videos clearly show them passing double waved and/or single waved yellows. As already said that means slow down, irrespective of what your dashboard or the light panel says. Electronics can fail, the flags can't and always take precedence.

Oh and some people seem to be mistaken thinking that the yellow flags can be thrown in error. That's not how it works. Race control don't decide when to throw yellows, it's the other way around. The marshals throw the manual yellow and at the same time press a button to send the signal for the electronic ones to follow. It would be absurd to do it the other way around, marshals can always spot potential hazards before the cameras can.

So no, it's not possible that they were an error because it's the judgement of the marshal who throws them based on their training. It seems in this case there may have been a fault with the signal to the digital boards, but again, not relevant.

In fact VER does also have a yellow light come on at the same point. 100% slam dunker.

I assume they're delaying them until tomorrow before the race for that drama they so crave these days, like the end of a Batman episode. "Will they get a penalty? Tune in tomorrow, same time, same channel!"

"It’s a bit of a shame because I had the yellow flag in the last sector and then the yellow flag cleared, I guess, because Max was coming.”
- Sebastian Vettel

Even the drivers see what's going on.

Vettel is just playing with the F1 and media. He knows how it works in this circus. Like his on board radio to touch the rear wing of Lewis' car. "Oooh wait maybe front wing is 25K". See the fun of it. I like that style of humour.

Why was only one person waving with the double yellow and why not another one before or in the corner? The Gasly incident was already about 30 secs earlier? What has the FIA themselves to say about this messy situation?

BTW: That doesn't say the drivers could ignore and/or don't notice the one marshall. I leave that decision to the stewards this afternoon. my assumption: Five places Verstappen and Sainz, Bottas three places

With the way that Gasly's wing broke, any car that was behind could have been a danger. I know it seems like a longshot, but anything could have happened - take a look at Verstappen's front wing as he comes into the pit straight.

The FIA is all about safety after the death of Jules Bianchi and Antoine Hubert, as well as Romain Grosjean's crash. Them not giving these penalties is pretty much saying "Safety matters when it's convenient". The want the $$$, so a little safety can take a backseat for them.

Ok rest will follow. Expect Max 5. Spice up for the race. Cameras rolling

Edit: Max 5 places grid penalty

..and in the end it was just a bog standard "ignored a yellow, end of" penalty. No mention of any errors or special circumstances. That was obvious from the videos, so what took so long?

Create some extra drama --> Drive to survive team is filming again this weekend. Still curious what the FIA have to say about the mess the officials created themselves.

Anyway: Enjoy the race!! HAM-GAS-ALO.

Desperately looking for a way to acquit Verstappen to avoid a snoozefest.

Since when did 3+3 = 5?

Edit: Oh, they've given Bottas his penalty first, then Verstappen.
