That’s the problem with F1 though. You need to take risks to win if you don’t drive a car that’s 1.5 seconds faster than everyone else.
The odds of this happening to Hamilton were tiny. He could get an extra point for fastest lap. The call made perfect sense.

When was the last time an F1 team decided to just not drive? Your argument is just stupid.
Exactly... they just didn't try and get him to the grid. Oh, and let's not be a jerk... or just don't bother replying.

I have seen luck, but Lewis's is on another level!
Drives a race winning car his whole career and then drives a car for 7 years where his only competition is midfield level teammates. Pretty lucky as a whole to me.

Mercedes run their cars in perfect unison. If something happens to one, the odds of it happening to the other are pretty high. Even without hindsight I would have made a different call. I called red bull stupid when I saw max dive to pit lane. I stand by that.

It was a roller-coaster of emotions for the last 3 laps or so, the rest of the race (safety car incidents aside) was a snoozefest with Grojean's defensive shenanigans being the most eye-opening.

Ferrari gets a podium, both cars get in the points and both beat 1 of the Mercedes. This would be a great day for any other team. :P

Kudos to LeClerc. He’s been doing a hell of a job dragging that Ferrari up into podium positions while Vettel has been scrapping for points.

I always thought that Scott Dixon was the luckiest driver on earth compared to Lewis prior to today...

I was wrong.

So... so wrong.

I know it wasn't Max's fault, but:

Damn, talk about going out with a bang. Those exploding left front tires were an absolute nail-biter. Maybe next week all the teams would be running on 2-stop strategies because of that. Can't wait for the next race.

Feel bad for Valteri tough break today, its a strange season that might yet be decided by who stays healthy...

And has the entire paddock singing his praises, and saying he’s the greatest of all time. All one has to do is look at his performances when he wasn’t in a dominant chassis to get a reflection on his real talent. Upper 10th percentile, but not the greatest.

Hamilton gets a puncture and some racing "fans" here still call him lucky.

Hilarious.

I mean...as someone who thinks that the LH/Mercedes' whining does get a little over-the-top here sometimes, Hamilton got super lucky today. If Max wasn't called into the pits beforehand, Lewis would've absolutely lost the race.

So..every season from 2007 to 2013 then? When he won one title, almost two, and won races every season in cars that were sometimes third best?

Even when he wasn't in a dominant chassis, he still manage to win at least 1 race ever since he's been in F1.....please, go ahead and say the same thing about any other F1 drivers in the sport's history....if that's not enough to put him alongside all the "greatest" I really don't know what else will!
