Agreed Russell would be a better rival for Lewis competitively he's been driving the wheels off the williams every time he gets in it. That combo would also have the nice transition going on as Lewis inevitably wanes and Russell develops further...
Russell's another driver in the Button mould, will he have 'the edge'? , that remains to be seen.

Ch4s grilling of Toto is worth watching

He said the same thing about Gasly and one month later he was out. RBR is the least forgiving outlet.
Maybe, though Gasly probably had a better car then than Albon does now. That said, I won't dispute that Formula 1 in general is a minefield that drivers have to navigate very carefully, the top 3 teams even moreso.

Once again, I miss the old US crew. I didn’t hear this mentioned at all during qualifying.

We will never see a better driver than Lewis Hamilton.

We will never see a faster car than the W11.

We will never see a team as strong as Mercedes.

Think about this in historic terms. I know that I complain about teams dominating in V8 Supercars, but the philosophy of that series is different and made specifically for close racing. The new regulations will slow the cars down and won't reach the same raw performance as the current generation of car. The W11 may as well be the fastest race car to ever be created (not including the 919 EVO because it's never raced). We get sick of seeing this domination but it's no surprise when you see just how good the operation at Mercedes is. Ferrari and Red Bull have been left in the dust and are actually slower than last year. If you're not moving forwards, you're going backwards. In 30 years time, we will look back at these days with admiration, with respect for the repeated success not seen before in F1. In an age where the field is tighter than ever, having Mercedes stand head and shoulders above the rest is incredible. Not even Ferrari enjoyed this much success with Schumacher and Ross Brawn. Damn. This is what peak performance looks like. Love them or hate them, Mercedes will go down in history as the most successful team ever.

I agree with you, the way the team is managed its philosophy of honesty and every voice being heard is quite unique in the paddock. It seems to be a synergy of driver talent, engineering excellence and sound man management, its rare to get all these ducks in a row.

I'm not going to argue with that whatsoever. Kobayashi going through the Porche curves a couple years back like they weren't even there was one thing, but seeing the W11 tearing around the Hungaroring... what I would give to see that thing going
Wait until Mugello. You won't believe your eyes.

The complaining about Mercedes dominance is hilarious. They have done the best job throughout the team. They dam well deserve the dominance.

Also, lets not forget, Ferrari have had a huge part in that dominance by throwing away the '17 '18 and '19 championships, as they had the better car overall for those 3 seasons.

Wishing for years gone by is stupid too, I think people forget that the racing wasn't as good, and whilst generally 1 team didn't dominate, 2 did. Mercedes, for all their dominance, still haven't beaten the win percentage from Mclarens 1988 season. And yet everyone looks back on that season and car and the drivers and waxes lyrical about how good it was.

Mercedes deserving it, and it making the sport duller can both be true at the same time. I'm not really seeing many people say Mercedes don't deserve it, but them deserving it doesn't make it any more entertaining for casual fans.

Hulk has to start from the pitbox. Hydraulic issues.

Enjoy the race!!

Edit: and not clear if Hulk can start the race. Hopefully his engineers manage it to fix the problems.

Hamilton is basically guaranteed the win but the midfield battles are always good here.
