Hello everybody, and thanks for checking out my club, the Formula GT Spec Series (GT6 Club ID #1062768). As you may have guessed from the name, we run the Formula GT with the default setup on a variety of road courses and ovals in GT6. We run 50 minute endurance races every Wednesday night at 9:15 pm Eastern time (01:15 GMT). We are currently midway through our second season and will be starting Season 3 on September 21st. There have been 10-13 regular participants in our events for two months now and we’re looking to recruit a few more drivers to round out the field.

What you need to know:

· We run SRF - In order to make up for the awful handling the ‘stock’ Formula GT exhibits, all drivers run skid recovery force (SRF). We realize that many Gran Turismo veterans are dismayed by the idea of running SRF. The reason we run SRF is that the default tune of the Formula GT is highly prone to snap oversteer when driven without SRF.

· We run limited horsepower - Season 3 will have a 517 hp limit. The top 5 in driver's points will race with less hp, which will allow a variety of drivers to race at the front of the field each week.

· We don’t run yellow flags/safety cars - Racers are expected to keep it clean, and running with penalties set to ‘weak’ helps us to avoid some contact. It is the responsibility of lapped/wrecked drivers to make way for others via ghosting or clearing the racing line. There may be post-race penalties for drivers who do not comply.

· Road Races take place with the slipstream set to ‘weak’ - This creates dirty air through corners for trailing cars but also allows the car behind to gain a drafting effect similar to F1’s DRS on straights. This setting has led to more passing and battling for position on the track.

· The competition is close - The last four events have featured a pass for position on the final lap. This is not a series where one driver laps the entire field, or where the qualifying order mostly determines/reflects the finishing order.

· We run 10 different tracks - 8 road courses and 2 ovals. Each season has 4 road course events before ending with an oval race. Tuning is allowed for oval events.

The goal of the club is to hold competitive events with close racing every week. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, join the club/send me a message!

Upcoming Events:

· 8/31 - Nurburging GP/D

· 9/7 - Grand Valley Speedway

· 9/14 - Indianapolis Motor Speedway (75 laps, OPEN TUNING)

Season 3 begins 9/21 at Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit!

low voter turnout is what is wrong with society. Are you allowed to tune on your car & are aids OK other than SRF? Fast tire wear & fuel or normal

Tuning is prohibited, so everyone runs the same default set up on the Formula GT. Driving line, ABS, and traction control are allowed. Tire wear/fuel consumption is set to "normal", which usually means it takes 2 pits stops to finish a 50 minute race.

Okay. No doubt you have some idea of what an "average" lap with the above setup is with the guys you are running with. If you give me a clue , I'll set up a Form GT car & make a few practice laps & see if I'am competitive before I ask to join. I got shamed in the GEEZER club.

We have a few drivers on the faster side, but I wouldn't say we are exactly pros. I have some regulars who are on the slower side but know how to race cleanly, too. We're running Fuji Speedway F as the next road course after tomorrow's race. Fast drivers can manage a 1:22 there, but if you can manage at least a 1:24 lap regularly you'll have some competition to run against. You could keep up on an oval no problem as long as you aren't steering with a D-pad because our oval events are full time 100% throttle and we'd give you our set up.

Fantastic race tonight, lots of battling for position throughout the entire 50 minutes - the top 5 finished within 21 seconds of each other. We had a number of people poke into the room during our race tonight, just checking us out. I suspect some of these folks had seen this thread and wanted to find out what all the hoopla was about. If any of you are looking to race in the club, feel free to send me a message and I'll make sure you are squared away and have what you need to know to run with us next time.

Season 2 ends next Wednesday, the 14th at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. For Season 3 we will be moving to run our races on Monday nights at 10 pm Eastern Time, beginning September 19th. Wednesday night will be retained as a test session/race practice night for the club, which is a perfect time for new members and the curious to come check us out in a less serious atmosphere. Wednesday practices will start on September 21st, and I will open up a room in the club lobby at 8:30 pm Eastern on those nights.

Season 3 Schedule:

9/19 - Fuji Speedway F
9/26 - Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit
10/3 - High Speed Ring (Open Tune Event)
10/10 - Indianapolis Road Course
10/17 - Motegi Superspeedway

Qualifying will continue to be held via time trials in the club events section in the week leading up to the race. Qualifying closes late Sunday Night/Monday Morning at 3 am Eastern Time. I seriously hope that there won't be any of you procrastinating to qualify at the last minute with this change, get some sleep people!
