Forza 4 on Top Gear (USA) Tonight ..

So people dont like TGUS because its not all serious?

I have never seen a Top Gear US show until that clip and found it rather funny. Makes me want to see more.

I have Top Gear UK on Netflix, and got bored after the 5th show.

What am I missing?

TG US is terrible but not as bad as TG Australia. Pace is uneven, choice of cars strangely fixated on US cars, the script is dull and the host to host interaction is terribly rehearsed.

As for TG UK then all I can say is that with 350 million viewers per week the general consensus would be you need to try again. Not every show is equally great and the segment with a celebrity can be boring but mostly it is a great show. Go to Final Gear and you'll find details on what is in each episode and then go from there.

Ill have to give it another go. I started watching because so any people said it was great, but when I finally sat down to watch them, I was like WTH? I assume the begining episodes as not the greatest?

Lol; the first episodes were the nicest i think..

But after it being hyped to you; im not suprised your dissapointed..
I dont think it to be as great as everyone sais it to be, but i love the way the cinematics are done when presenting a car.. What they have to say about it doesnt bother me; I can never buy the cars they drive and they always hate german, always love british..

you shouldnt watch it as you usually would a car show.. Just sit back and laugh about all the stupidity they get themselves into..

About the point of presentor interaction being rehearsed; The later episodes of TGUK show that very clearly aswell..

I love TG UK. I do like TG USA. Car Show is hit or miss with me. Some shows are great while some, like earlier ones, seemed all over the place. I'm just glad that we now have 3 car shows on various networks. SPEED was pissing me off for YEARS focusing most of their efforts on NASCAR. Even F1 and Le Mans would take a back seat to talk about NASCAR
I personally love Rutledge's humor. Tanner isn't the best host but he can drive. He's got that all American thing to him. Adam... not sure about him. Hated him 1st 2 episodes but he's slowly starting to get me to like him. Rutledge for me is the man.

I stopped watching Top Gear UK due to the sheer amount of scripting and the fact it became more nonsense than cars. I actually think I prefer Fifth Gear.

Fifth gear is much better.
Though TG is more family orientated. My Mrs and young son don't mind me putting on TG.

See, that's why I enjoy Top Gear UK. If I want to find some cold, hard info on cars I'm interested in, I'll use Google. Nonsense is exatly what I'm watching TG for.

I applaud the Topgear (US,UK,AU)and 5th gear series for what they are, car shows. Better then watching another generic reality show like Jersey Shore

Well, TGUSA has been great on the second season, but the last episode was pretty poor. Why focus on the worst presenter when the other two have already proven to be much more interesting to watch and listen?

Seriously, they need to replace Tanner with Jay Leno on the show as soon as possible, Tanner is fantastic when driving, not so much when talking. He could be the Stig. :D

On a serious note, I don't even think Ferrara was taking the game seriously, no one can be that bad...

First time (and last time) I watch an episode of TG USA: Is it for the fast food happy audience that they really have to be THAT stupid? What a shame... Original TG is so much funnier (nothing beats Brits and their sharp humor - and I'm French by the way)!!! And talk about a nice 2 am TV scripted info-mercial for F4! That was SOO obvious I wanted to puke! Forza 4 don't really need this poor and stupid attempt to sell, really, they already nailed the big graphic flaws of the last installment and F4 will be amazing... but this show was really a disgrace.

God, the TGUK one is just horrid IMO. It has gotten so much worse over the years, and they barely try to hide the horrid scripting. Their jokes were funny for awhile, but not as much anymore. I think it is closing in on time to actually wrap up TGUK so it at least goes out with some respect (unlike Brett Favre).

Ok so I am not alone in not liking it.

And that was funny. I am a huge Packers fan.

I will ignore your attack on Americans; which is obviously to bait and against the AUP. However, if I see it again it will be reported.

But, I do agree that the Forza segments could have been much better. I was at least expecting them to show a full unedited lap on Infineon; I kept watching and waiting but that never came. Instead they seemed to focus on the fat one running into walls.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

You may not want to state opinions like that on an American site. Talk about being sharp. Someone obviously isn't.

As a car enthusiast, I think it's awesome that we have 3 cars shows to watch during the weekday. It would be great if we could also watch Top Gear Australia as well in the US.

I really don't want to get off topic but you brought up a really good point. Out of all the years I've spent watching SPEED, I've never seen them show as much Nascar stuff as they do nowadays.

He could be the Stig. :D

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if that actually ended up being the case.

But yeah, he has his moments, but for the most part he is really boring to listen to.

You will stop watching TGU once you start watching The Car Show on Speed. TCS > TG

If they killed Adam, maybe.

As long as he's there it's just outright annoying. Always interrupting actual conversations with his (un)witty humor, and is always rambling about 🤬 no one cares about. Why he's a host I'll never know...

I think Rutledge should be the one to leave...Although, Adam has no prior car/racing experience, which doesn't make any sense to me. I mean, Hammond, Clarkson and May were all doing car reviews prior to Top Gear.

I was always a big fan of the Man Show, and I like that he doesn't hold back his thoughts. He has his unfunny moments, but I do like him.

Actually he does.

Not being hesitant to say what's on your mind, and outright interrupting a worthwhile conversation just so you can utter something that has little to no relation on what's being discussed is an entirely different matter. I imagine it won't be long until he's embarrassed on TV, if it hasn't already happened off-stage. I used to (and still do to some extent) hate it when Jeremy cut people off when they were talking, but at least he's adding something worthwhile.

There are so many people who aren't watching TCS just because of Carolla -- no one else.

In some of the automotive forums I am in, there are many who are watching the show because of Adam. Many of them were huge fans of the Man Show as well. Granted, I have been listening to Adam's podcasts for awhile now as well, but he does have a large following.

I turned on The Car Show for one moment to see if it was going to work for me. That is when Matt Farah asked Dan Neil, "what does F1 have to do with racing". At that point Dan almost choked and was like WTF?
Plus, John Sally? I thought I was about to watch an Detroit Pistons game.
I think they could have done a better job with the cast and because of the cast I cannot make myself sit down and watch it, especially Fahar!
I can at least stomach Top Gear because of Tanner Frost. He has great input and he at least knows how to drive a car.
I think if you combine both shows it can somewhat make one decent show :(
Either way both combined cannot top the real Top Gear.
