Forza 4 - Shift 2 owners what are your thoughts?

C'mon... that's ridiculous. How the hell is that kind of a console made?

No really. :)

There are four chips that have little heatsink pads. These malfunction, leading to overheating of the chips. Sticking copper coins in their place is the proven solution.

As here:

As a huge S2 fan, I have to say FM4 is a very great game.

1. Liveries. Awesome designs, and can be shared, gifted. As well as sharing, selling, and gifting tunes for the cars.

2. Sounds are on par with S2. The tires screeching is top notch in FM4. TOP NOTCH!

3. Cockpit view is not as good as S2, but better than GT5.

4. Car customization options are great. Engine swaps, drive train swamps, etc. etc.

5. Tuning is beyond awesome. Much like S2, but with correct numbers etc.

6. Tracks...are ok, but nothing so far can touch S2. The addition of Hockenhiem, Indy, and Infinion are awesome though.

7. AI. Good, but not as good as S2. Again way better than GT5.

8. Career is good as well. Plenty of variety, and PI scaling like in S2.

9. Drag, Drift, Point to Point, Oval, Curcuit racing, all are done very well.

10. Online. Wow. The best. Online damage, online heats, online teams, car clubs, private races, public races, 16 cars and DAMAGE. Also you can save online replays, and even watch the telemetry from any car in the race. Basically you can set up league races with ease. The biggest pro over S2? No collision issues, and no huge lag spikes. You can draft someone 2 feet in front of you.

Anyway, if you have the means get an xbox and get FM4. If you dont, then go steal one. I miss you guys.

Oh here is an example of my latest livery. Its for the upcoming Exige Clash race series.

I wasn't going to bother....but now. 💡

Shift online HAS been very short of competitors recently. 👎

from one graeme to a other, GET A PS3 MATE, we would all love for you to join us on the psn, speak to santa man,👍

Vaxxtx, and then everything is ruined by inept controllers unless you have to spend quite a few quid on a Fanatec wheel. Total killer for me.

And then, feels flat, but I already have GT5 for that :P

I would probably but it for Xbox though (its like having GT5 for PS3 really - one just have to :) )

Wow. It's been a while since I've found myself in these parts. Does anyone even remember me anymore? :P

What are my thoughts? Get it. Simple as.

The suspension modeling, visible body roll, and the communication you get from the tires is the best I've ever experienced to date. This is from someone who's practically a PC snob (not an elitist, just a snob) and from someone who's playing FM4 with a pad. Yes, a pad. With a pad I get all of the sensations when the tires are scrubbing, losing grip, when the weight is being shifted, etc, etc.

I've played and owned every Forza to date, and 4 really is the best effort they've put forth thus far. How can I forget Autovista? If you're an enthusiast, then Autovista is where it's at. I've already spent hours upon hours just looking through the catalog, starting the engines, listening to the commentary bits. And DLC begins next month. :D

Get it. Get it now.

Thanks mate....very kind. :)

Still saving up for another mail order bride at the moment, so PS3 (and wheel to go with it) will have to wait.

Welcome back Mr. Terronium.

Your tunes are being put to good daily use....many thanks.👍

Forza 4 will be so much better if you contribute some tunes to that also. :)

I've already started a garage. You can find it here: True Force Forza™

And it's great knowing my tunes are still doing good for people. :D

I don't use a wheel

Welcome back T-12 :) Forza4 racers have found themselves a wonderful tuner 👍

Thanks on both accounts. Although I never really left, I've poked my head in from time to time. :D

Well, I do agree a wheel is a must for me. I ended up getting a GT2 and CSR Elite pedals. The good thing is I can use them on the PS3 and Xbox.

After playing S2, FM4 does not feel flat to be honest. Its not sterile like GT5 trust me. Its not as good in the cockpit, but its damn close.

Personally, I am glad of my purchase of an Xbox and Fanatec. Even if it was just for FM4 it would be justified.

Oh...I forgot to mention RIVALS! Imagine Autolog, but instead of just times, you can see your rivals ghost car while racing. Also, you can watch a replay of your friends, with telemetry if you want. It also makes dirty laps invalid.

Just my thoughts. Taking the cool folks here and getting them into FM4 would be great. If I win the lottery, Ill buy all my S2 buds an Xbox and Fanatec wheels. 👍

Which Fanatec wheel are you using, and does it come with matching pedals...or could I just buy the wheel and use my MS pedals that came with the MS wireless wheel ? :)

Haven't played Forza 4, but tried Forza 3 for a few hours this weekend. It had nothing on either GT5, GT4 or Shift 2.

Driving wise, just felt 2nd rate...felt like there was some decent physics, but off a bit.

I have had 4 RROD's in the past and promised to never get an XBOX again, but since that time I have also had 4 PS3's brick on me. Forza 4 might make me buy another Xbox again. Am still thinking about it, however even if I do I will not give up my weekend online racing on SU2...Too much fun.

I bought shift 2 not so long ago. I played it for 1 day and then went back to GT5... I just cant stand the physics and controls in shift 2. Its so twitchy and weird, it doesnt feel like you're driving the car. Even with all aids off! And all the shake and 'cool' special effects just make me wanna puke. :yuck:

I wish i never bought it. But now I know how good GT5 really is.

How informative and relative.

Oh...wait, no it isnt. :dunce:

And I suppose your post is better?

Thats just my opinion, no need to be a jerk about it. I didnt mean to be rude or anything. I wasted 30€ on that game...

Well I made 2 posts in this thread that pertain to the topic of the OP. So yes. This isnt a rant about S2 thread is it? You can put your rant in the sticky up top. Also, this isnt a compare Shift 2 to GT5, or a review of S2.

Maybe if you read the post you would know that. I am very glad you are happy with your 80% standard cars, no damage, no customizing, no in depth tuning, car game you call GT5. But this isnt the place to post it.

Am so so tempted to get a xbox and jump on forza 4 now, whats the best wheel for xbox and how is the ffb on this game? also is there leaderboards for different rate cars?

Still the cockpit view feels straight up dead in comparison to Shift 2. Also one thing that always bothered me with Forza: The tarmac is too bright. For some reason this throws me off completely.
