With drivatar car levels being matched to yours, does anyone else find themselves upgrading cars to whatever level you feel and not maxed out for each class? I like that it lets me keep some of the stock car's driving characteristics while still upgrading anything I feel is lacking.
I was going to reply that, to what @VXR had posted. I dont feel the need to max out the PI in a certain class anymore.

I tried to jump into the game yesterday, and it just wouldnt sync up :( It would freeze while trying to initiate the sync, but I can still dashboard but the sync pop up stays covering even the dashboard. When I go back in game the sync pop up would disappear completely, other times it would actually initiate the sync process. However, it took about 25 minutes to get to 23%, and then it disappeared again. When it disappears it will stay on the loading screen for ever and not do anything.

I've read that if you actually get the process to initiate, then to just let it go on, no matter how long it takes.. Thing with that is, that I've read some people taking hours for it to finish. Really a pain in the ass as Ive been missing Horizon, and wanted to collect my Lambo, as well as my monthly reward, but cant even get the game to start.
I got this when I went back to FM5 to claim my rewards. Eventually had to leave the thing syncing for a day before it let me in so you and @Clark have my sympathies. The network was pretty busy last night since the game pushes DLC packs out to car pass owners automatically as I just discovered.

Yup, thats basically what I was reading. I am not willing to leave my console on for that long to be honest.

Having played the game extensively (level 156, 57 championships) about the only thing I've found annoying is the way the drivatars act during road trips. They seem to go out of their way to bash into me, and when I slow down to let them get on down the road, they slow to a crawl to stay near me. It's almost like being trolled in an online session.

This is one of the features I truly enjoy about this game and I hope that it is carried over to Forza Motorsport 6 (whenever that is released). I think I may have a handful of fully upgraded cars but neither one of them are cars I've used for completing championships. IMHO, for many of the cars less is more and I'm completely content with that.

I keep all my cars stock except for paint and occasionally wheels. On muscle cars, I usually upgrade the transmission since they are all seriously under-geared. Otherwise, I really like driving cars just as they are, and this game is willing to let me do just that.

Sounds great, you shouldn't have to make racecars out of every car in order to race them 👍
That drivatar system is quite innovative for the racegame genre and seems to work like a charm.

Yup, I'm going to gamestop tomorrow to purchase a Xbox One with FH2. I might as well since it has more cars than FM5 and I'll just get FM5 later on.
It's starting to itch here also, but my conscience is telling me to wait for a proper deal on a bundle next year when the price hits close to the 300 mark.

Yeah, my plan was to wait until Forza 6 to get a Xbox One, but I just couldn't wait any longer. Especially since there's Xbox One bundles for sale for $350. It just sounded like a perfect time to switch up for me.

Hope that Xbone controller is good enough though as i won't be buying a wheel again (that would just feel like i bended over big time :D).

Well, I haven't used the controller that long, but it feels fine so far in terms of driving. It doesn't feel that different to me from using the xbox 360 controller.

Anyway, the xbox one version of FH2 so far looks amazing and I love the driving physics so far. Though, I am annoyed that I can't buy any cars or check my messages right away.

You get past that stage quite fast though.
It's still annoying though, I shouldn't have to complete one championship before being able to simply look at cars at the Autoshow.

I do have to say that I really love the FM5 & FH2 physics engine so far, the driving just feels so much more enjoyable than on the xbox 360. I'm also surprised that the Mclaren P1 is easier to drive on the X1 than on the X360.

Just got my One. The 14gb update for F5 has kept me from playing that thus far. Popped FH2 in instead. Clocked in about 10 hours, made it to lvl 22. I have to study, yet I keep playing.. Yes, its that addicting.

The physics feel great. A 4wd car acts the way its supposed to in the rain.

I was complaining about the feel of FM4 on a pad some days ago, seems that with the new vibration motors in your Xbone pad, you feel gear changes and loss of grip. With FM4 the controller only vibrated when you hit the curbs or grass. Can you check that out for me next time you play if you feel those effects now? Duly appreciated 👍

I was just talking about how I keep all my cars stock, but in another thread, I was talking about my 245 mph VW Beetle. Either 1.) I've been kicking Beetles out of the back of a C-130 and timing them as they hit terminal velocity, or 2.) I just contradicted myself. I'll just amend my previous statement to "I almost always leave my cars stock." Every once in a while I get the urge to build a stupid fast car out of something that should never be built into a stupid fast car.

No. 3 times the drivable space. If I'm honest it doesn't feel much bigger than fh1
3 times the drivable space just seems too small a number to me. Considering that, except for a few small areas, you were restricted to roads only in FH1, I'm guessing only about 20-25% of the FH1 map was drivable. It seems like the FH2 map flipped that around. I guessing 75-80% is drivable now.

You know what, I'm going to fire up FH1 and do an east-west/north-south run to find out how many miles it is, and I will do an east-west/north-south drive in FH2 for comparison purposes. Then we can really see how much larger the map is.

The only car I won in a wheelspin so far is the e36 BMW M3. Though, I'm fine with that as it's one of my favorite cars of all time. Also, I was given 600k cr for Forza rewards, so I'm good. I saved up to 1 million CR not too long ago and spent my money on a Mclaren P1, Audi R8 V10 plus, and a bunch of other cars I like.

EDIT: How about that, I just got an Ultima GTR in a wheelspin.

Okay, I just did my comparison of the maps between FH1 and FH2.

.........................FH1.............FH2
North-South:.......7.1 miles.....7.6 miles
East-West:..........16.0 miles...12.6 miles
Grand Tour:.........21.4 miles...30.0 miles
Grand Tour time:..13:34.58.....21:16.52

North to South was measure from the thickest parts of the maps, same with East to West. On the FH1 map, East to West means from the the furthest south road in the Finley Dam region to the deepest south part of Red Rocks. If you want to exclude them since they are kind of dead ends (although an argument can be made that both maps are "no outlet" since there's no exit), then measuring from the bottom of the Red Rocks road at I-70 to the east end of Bunker is 7.8 miles. Using the larger number for FH1, we get 113.6 square miles, however that number is a little misleading since there are no roads in the corners of the map. Only the center section and two outside loops have roads. Using the smaller number, we get 55.38 square miles. For FH2, the entire map is used with roads covering the entire area all the way out to the corners, so we get 95.76 square miles.

The Grand Tour is what I call a loop of the main map excluding outlying areas. That means no Red Rocks or Finley Dam for FH1 and no Sisteron for FH2. For FH1, I started at the southern terminus of I-70, went north around Carson, east to Beaumont, south through Bunker to Clear Springs and back west to the starting point. For FH2, I started at the Castelleto hub, went west through Nice sticking to the coastline, then north to just short of Sisteron, then around the top of the map to the east, then down south through Montellino and back into Castelleto. The car I used for both tours was a dead stock Dino 246. Since this was a comparison of roads versus roads, I didn't do any off-roading in FH2 or take any shortcuts. I also didn't do any rewinds since that would defeat the purpose of timing them. It didn't matter if I hit a truck or a guardrail or a satellite hit me, I just kept driving to the end. That poor little baby Ferrari looked pretty rough by the end of both tours.

So last night I decided it was a good time to make a 6L V12 Supra. It came up around 1100 HP, and to my surprise it can actually handle the power quite well. I haven't even tuned it yet either, so once I get that out of the way I'm sure I'm going to have alot of fun in this car.

After playing FH2 a bit more, I have also noticed a few more differences between the Xbox 1 & 360 versions. On the Xbox 360 version; you could switch to any car in your garage anytime you wanted just by pausing the game to go to your cars. On the Xbox One version, you can still go to a similar menu by pausing, but you can't actually get in a car unless you're at a Horizon Hub station. The 2nd difference is that you can switch car championships at the events themselves on the 360 version while you also have to be in the Horizon hub to switch car championships.

It kinda makes the gameplay on the Xbox 1 a bit tedious without those convinces, but it's not that big of a deal I suppose.

I'm wondering, how big a percentage of the time you guys are cruising with this game? Seeing the landscapes and the cars are so stunning, i think i would drive around respecting the speed limit :D
