I think I know why we got the Huracans, they were part of a design challange for kids in LA or something like that. They said that the cars will be put in the game with the designs.

So a thought occurred to me today after finally hooking up my Thrustmaster TX (no idea why I waited this long): why isn't SmartGlass being used to add to the experience?

For example, why not use it as a second-screen speedo/tachometer? Unless you're sitting inches away from your screen, it's pretty tough reading the gauges in cockpit mode (and those don't help you in any other mode obviously). It would be even cooler if they replicated the actual gauges on SmartGlass.

And why stop there? What if you were able to use your tablet as a telemetry screen? Who says only 1 device? I would love to be able to use my iPad for the gauges, and then prop up my phone for a rearview mirror.

Tried racing online for the first time tonight.

The lag is quite manageable, you don't even notice it most of the time. The racing is also relatively clean, there is a lot of contact but most of it is accidental and pretty harmless. Only twice in about 15 races has someone actually tried to run me off the track which is pretty good for an online racing game.

I've driven my Lancia Fulvia so much the engine is starting to break in and the horsepower is rising. It started life as a D500 dead stock, now it's a C501. I can't detune it to get it back to D500, all I can do is put on something like wings or heavy wheels to get the PP back down to D class. Yes, I know I could just tune the car up to C600, but I really like it as a D500.

I've tried the showcase challenge at the auto meets several hundred times now. I really enjoy those single races that don't require a big investment in my time. I've tried D class up to S2 and I've discovered something interesting. If someone races in a WRX tuned to B700, they're going to win every time. Well, let me rephrase that. They're going to beat me every time. It doesn't matter if I'm in a D500 with a half minute head start or a hypercar that has to wait a half minute, the WRX is going to beat me every time.

Good info, Populuxe Cowboy, might have to try a WRX sometime. Can't wait to get my wheel back and jump back into Horizon 2 (no ETA yet though). Used that time to grind for rewards points, and just have to switch on Horizon and Horizon 2 daily for the next 5 days to hit the next tier just before the end of the month. Maxed out everything I didn't have to spend real money on, except Horizon 2 achievements. Hope that wheel isn't too far away, itching for some coastal road.

@Dhalism - wait, there are leaderboards in this game?!

No sign of the Ambrose Falcon yet at my end. Anyone else still waiting for theirs?

This is what you posted:

As far as I know Forza Horizon 2 has no leaderboards unless you hit the pick rival button in Rivals.
oh, no they are there, at least in the 360 version.
Theyre in the Start-RB-down-A-A-A-X i think.

I thought u were making fun of the quality of Horizon leaderboards or something:P

It makes sense to me now. If you've ever played the XBone version, the leaderboards are hidden. Sorry for the confusion.

Here are the clues for the next DLC:

Clue one for car one (from Mechberg)
It's no James Ellroy novel, but this brute still packs a punch.

Clue one for car two
A facelift, but nothing like Bruce Jenner's.

Clue one for car three
If gas prices were still 36 cents a gallon this monster would make a great daily driver.

Clue one for car four
This rocket ship will haul a lot more than groceries.

Clue one for car five
If this was behind door number three you would be seriously stoked.

Clue one for car six
This car does will do a lot more than encourage proper breathing.

My guesses:

Clue one for car one (from Mechberg)

2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport (Ellroy wrote a book called "Blood's A Rover.")

Clue one for car two
A facelift, but nothing like Bruce Jenner's.
2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat (just hoping, really.)

Clue one for car three
If gas prices were still 36 cents a gallon this monster would make a great daily driver.
No idea. This could be anything, unless "36" is a clue.

Clue one for car four
This rocket ship will haul a lot more than groceries.
Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser ("Rocket" was the name for the Oldsmobile V-8 engines.)

Clue one for car five
If this was behind door number three you would be seriously stoked.
Chevrolet Monte Carlo (first generation would be my preference, but perhaps "door number three" means third generation. I'm guessing the Monte because this is a reference to "Let's Make A Deal" which was hosted my Monty Hall from 1963 to 1991.

Clue one for car six
This car does will do a lot more than encourage proper breathing.
No idea.
