Apparently the M3 GTR you get for doing the Spring Playlist isn’t even a proper M3 GTR. From what I can tell it’s just the regular E46 M3 with the GTR bodykit, which you can just put on the regular E46 anyway

It even has the same wheels as the regular M3!

That's how it was in the press pictures:

It should have a carbon roof, though. And the 5.0 V8 from the E39 M5. What I'm really curious about, since I've not yet acquired it, is if the rear track width can finally be adjusted on this one without needing the Runny Bucket widebody kit, which is something the regular E46 direly needs.

I thought it was the E92's V8?

It is the E9x engine.

The E39 M5 had a 4.9L V8.

I Thought they sounded similar but didn't take into account the displacement.

EDIT: Turns out those engines aren't so distant from each other... I do wish PG would provide some indication on where the engines were sourced (though I know it isn't possible for licensing reasons)

It does have track width upgrades for both front and rear. It's one of those cars where the maximum track width upgrade actually pushes the wheels beyond the arches, so it should definitely go far enough for anyone's tastes.

What do you mean by the 5.0 from the E39? The GTR has its own unique 4.0 V8 which is very vaguely related to the one eventually built for the E92 M3.

I always assumed the roadgoing M3 GTR had the E39 M5's engine to save costs for homologation purposes, because both had 400hp-ish.

My attempt at the Marathon street scene event turned out be a case study in racing game rubberbanding. For once I was hopelessly behind for most of the race but home straight magic brought me victory. I have never seen it so pronounced before.

I never thought that the M3-GTR could be such a good S1 car. I tuned it for the trials and the M3-GTR dominated all of the events.

This is going to be my new "main" S1 car from now on.

If anyone needs sacking in the team, it's him. His position's equivalent in FM7 is Chris Esaki and look where FM7 is going now.

James Bond CX-75? I have the same problem.

The Playground games thing is too hard and takes too long, it should be best of 3 not best of 5, it's cruel if you lose 2-3 which I did.

I'm quite sure there was no rubberbanding in the game at launch, and it was noticed by some players at the time, including myself. At least it wasn't noticeable back then, but for some unfathomable reason it crept back in full force.

I think I can still get the Capri, but just barely. If I finish everything and get lucky with the Trials and Games, I might just reach 80%. It'll be super close, but hope it works.

Yeah. The Marathon one. First time I tried it there was a super fast CX-75. Next attempt wasn't too bad, a not-as-fast Gallardo Spyder.

That Marathon race was hilarious; it was me versus a fleet of Zonda Rs (is this still a bug?). I destroyed them for most of the race until the literal last 30 seconds where the suddenly found an extra 200 hp in the glove box. Only won by 2 tenths despite a lead of over 6 seconds.

I ran the Marathon thrice with a build around S1 950 something. The cars that gave me more grief were a BAC Mono, a CX-75 and a Gallardo. After finally winning I checked and they were around S1 900, so I've modified the F1 accordingly.

So I had like 70% overall last night and when I went to login today, it said I had something like 55%. It also shows I didn't win the GTO or Hornet in the previous two seasons. That's really weird.

Speaking of rubberbanding, I may have experience the opposite of what other members have stated here. Has anyone ever had a drivatar that was insanely quicker than all the rest, to the point where you are leaving all other drivatars in the dust and yet can't pass him?

I had one in the trial a couple of weeks ago that practically teleported past me and the player in front of me on the last corner, it was a tight 90 degree uphill and while the two of us were accelerating hard out of the corner the car behind us just flew by us like we were sitting still, in an S2 race too.

In last week's trial, during the last race on the small circuit in the village, I had an AI car catch up with me so quickly that it shot straight into the outside barrier of the slow left corner like a bullet and trapped me, must've run out of grip!

If for whatever reason you aren't able to connect to online play at the moment, the game won't know whether to credit you with the Rivals and Online Adventure parts of the playlist (maybe more?), and it won't show your correct progress %. The issue resolves itself automatically once you get connected.

The game is smart enough not to make this exploitable to receive prizes multiple times.
