Mine seems to do it despite connection type or time. I could be getting 120MB/s from the provider at 2AM Eastern Standard and the download will do a hair below half a meg a second with no discernable reason other than "haha, tough luck buddy".

Ugh, oh well. The update finished, I'll get to play it after work.
Same here sometimes. Weirdly though, my cap is about 120MB/s as well, but I've seen it jump up to 300-400 every once in a while

I plan to retry the E-AT run but not with simulation damage and rolling down the mountain. It struggled to get past 40MPH towards the end.

In the Top Gear story, the biggest challenge for me was the drive in the E-AT to Glen Rannoch
and then to Arthur's Seat
. Beating that 5:05 time to three-star it seemed impossible. But I finally worked out a route that got my time down to 4:38.
It took me way more than 4:38.
I finish this on my second try just to see that my only friendlist player who also finish it was 0.001 in front of me in the leaderboard.

Yeah, I can't get it done either, I can't even get close to 5:30 as it is...

What's the route you guys used?

You want to use the straight roads as much as possible, and try limit your time offroad as your speeds will be much lower.

That was basically the same route I used.

I never played Forza, but....

Turn 10 thought it would be funny to add DLC road cars and to re-include the cars from Motorsport 4 to Motorsport 7....

but then NOT including them in Horizon 4!

E.g.

Audi Q7 V12
Mercedes ML63
Astra VXR 2006
Lincoln Continental
Nissan Safari
Volvo XC90
Honda Odyssey
911 Leichtbau
Subaru Legacy B4
Mercedes C32 AMG

....and so on and so forth.

Finished the Top Gears. The final retry was the E-AT, and I also used something similar to Populuxe Cowboy's route. It got a bit jumbled getting off the mountain, though, and only made it at 5:08 something.

I never played Forza, but
First, there is one thing called license.. but some of you guys just feel like ignoring it is the right solution.
Second, we don't know what cars are comming back in the future updates. Be patient.... a little bit.
Third, you forgot the Supra in your list... for some reason.
Last... try one of the latest Forza. Maybe you will like it.

Because Horizon 4 has different Physics I think that's probably the biggest Hurdle from just bringing all those cars straight over.

Completed Top Gear now all I need now is the 96 Impala then my Forza garage is complete, glad they added the 6X6 hopefully I can find another from the auction.

Ok, stupid question of the year...

With the whole weekly 50%/80% thing, it's 50% of what exactly? Last night I gave it a go for the first time, trying to win the Rimac, but couldn't get past 49%.

I was up past 3 in the morning driving all the seasonal events I could find that didn't involve playing with others online. Finally I gave up and went to bed.

What am I missing?

In the Pause Menu you will find the Playlist section. There you will find all the events that count toward 100%. Every event you complete will turn gold so it's easy to follow the missing ones.

I maxed out the 2009 Audi RS 6 for the Croft speed zone with rally suspension and tires. Take it downhill and tight to your right in the last bend before the jump. Also a high 3rd gear above the speed objective helps.
The same build also bested the Wesloch speed trap.

Has anyone tried a Forzathon solo? I started the game after the update, was about to head over to the Top Gear section, passed through a Forzathon that had started and decided to join. Then realized no one else was in it. I did the first challenge, anyway. Then went on to the first two Top Gear challenges. I already want to redo them and try different things to see how much Chris Harris commentary is recorded. I don't know if I can intentionally destroy his 1M, though.

If you're trying to do a Forzathon and no one shows up, try switching to a new Horizon Live instance, and see if you can get a server with more people showing up. If I show up a few minutes early and no one is there, I might do this once or twice.

Thanks. I didn't think of trying a different server.

In other stuff, I was 1MPH short of the seasonal speed zone, the one a little east of the festival site. I decided it was time to quit for a bit. If it helps anyone, I'm getting close by accelerating through the field & farm at the southern end before crossing the gate, then trying not to lose too much speed through the zone. I still haven't made it, but I was much closer that way. Going north to south I was losing too much speed airborne at the end. (Edit: Got it. Same technique, but it took a few tries.)

This week's Playground Games are dirty as 🤬. A.I. seems to have infinite weight and can easily shove you around despite any amount of inpact speed you throw at them. Also had A.I. literally spawn on top of me during King, or I was robbed of the crown without contact. :irked:

Managed to win overall because everyone else quit. I was the last member of both teams and won by default.

I just went through the Top Gear story, and man that just drives home the "what if" to me... What if the Lego expansion had been Top Gear instead?

I enjoyed the Lego expansion but I feel they went rather conservative on it. That may be due to time constraints, game engine limitations, licensing issues, or a mixture of all three, but there's no building and that's kind of the big point to Lego's. You don't get a Minifigure to dress up, you can't build your house however you like - you can't even choose where to place the upgrades you "build" from the bricks you "collect" - and you can't modify your car or create your own.

The Lego world is beautiful and well crafted, and I especially liked some of the roads and courses as they made for some good racing and high speed driving, but instead of really going for it (and making it feel like a completely new game as it was described) they mostly just rehashed the same Horizon gameplay but with Lego skins.

Enter the Top Gear story and I kept thinking, imagine if this had been the expansion. You jet off to some crazy remote location(s) - deserts, mountains, jungles - to do a bunch of crazy stuff in cars ranging from exotic hyper cars to tractors on steroids to "reasonably priced cars." That sounds like Horizon to me. They could probably have come up with more than 2 cars to add as well. It would have introduced some silly fun with a heavy dose of car-centered stuff, and some Stig humor to finish it off.

Trying to sell my duplicate cars that I got from wheel spins, all are stock and how no skill points used on them. They should’ve made the garage space 1,000 cars not 750 if they knew they were gonna add more cars in with updates.
