I've had those fog lights on my AE86 for about a year now. So if it was added after the car released it was pretty shortly after the car released.
Interesting! But nonetheless less, what a neat discovery! Just wish I found out sooner haha!
Yeah, maybe. Never liked the HW toys anyways, might explain some things ahah. Plus these car just don't gel well with the Horizon physics, I guess - a tad too realistic for these kinda cars.
(and WRC is open world, in some way!)
No worries man! 👍 I understand where you're coming from and I totally respect that! :)

To tell you the truth, I want more rally cars too. I'm hoping FM Rebooted will feature a large collection of them if the term "Motorsport" is to be seriously this time around. :D

If there's going to be a Hot Wheels thing coming down the line can anyone else see a Super7 update with some Hot Wheels track pieces included.

That's exactly what I was picturing. Super 7 combined with the Route Creator would make this expansion so much fun.

I'm trying so hard not to get my hopes up for another expansion. Hot Wheels were by far my favorite toy as a kid and I still collect them off and on, so I'd be ecstatic if they released another one. I think I spent more time in FH3's than the actual map until I stopped playing on Xbox and moved to PC. I never downloaded FH3 on my PC because I bought the physical Ultimate Edition back in the day, and I didn't really have the space for it once Forza Horizon 4 came out.

All the new cars that Forza has added since then, as well as the new cars that they could very well be adding in this update would make me so happy. PG and the game itself have the resources to make this a bigger and better expansion than the original, and I am all for it.

Got the Singer 911 and noticed it had the same propensity to oversteer at all times (but most annoyingly at turn-in) as the 996 GT3. This time I was determined to make it feel right.

So I looked around and saw that PG sets the default differential settings very aggressively (way too much lock for a RR car that doesn't really need a locking diff to begin with, they have massive traction regardless) so I set the diff accel to 5 and decel to 95*. Then I set the front roll bars and front springs to be considerably stiffer than the default settings.

The results were transformative! The car now has an initial tendency to understeer, particularly at steady state turn in, but if you really drive it like all the weight is in the back (trail braking) it handles beautifully. You can really use the pendulum effect to swing the car through a corner and then just weld your foot to the floor and the rear traction and open diff just sort out the exit and you rocket out. It's a lot of fun, but a bit of a challenge to get right...if you don't get the back end moving, you just plow yourself off the road.

I then applied this same approach to the 996 GT3 to try to get it to handle pretty well without resorting to massive rear aero, and it worked pretty well. Basically an open rear diff and a stiff front.

All of this makes me think that PG has setup the RR cars in the game to behave in a sort of all-the-time oversteer kind of way so that they are not frustrating to drive for people who use all of the aides and assists, because I think the dynamic intertia buff is far better suited to controlling oversteer than it is to reducing understeer.

*I think the very high decel is helping because it will tend to overdrive the inside rear wheel during deceleration and (I think) steady state throttle, which helps to stabilize the rear, basically the opposite of skid-steering a tank.

LOL at the comments of the leaked cars post I uploaded on the Forza Subreddit.

I agree with this guy:

For ***** sake I wish they'd stop stuffing the game with so many random cars and I don't know improve more engine noises, add the customization people have been requesting and update some of the terrible motorsport 2 era car models still lurking in the roster. Honestly ****ing tired of the non stop gimmicks.

@Eunos_Cosmo Why why didn't research it together? I don't have time to play it but it's very important to me. Forza guards your outer tire grip and it works somehow bad for rear-heavy cars. We need to find out why! :D

I like how people think they can say "nobody wants these cars!" but also say "I want -insert very specific car here!-" no matter what car they're requesting. The entitlement is insane sometimes. I, for one, do want these cars. So that's at least one person.

There's never a problem with wanting specific cars, but at the end of the day, PG makes the final choice in what content is added into the game they made. Everyone has different taste in cars, so I'm seriously happy in whatever we get. Some of my favorites usually end up being the weird and quirky (insert Doug DeMuro reference here) or obscure cars that wouldn't be an obvious choice.

I know this is not a problem for anybody on this forum. I'm just tired of seeing people on Twitter and Reddit and wherever else complain that their very specific car demands aren't being honored. Are there cars that I want that aren't currently in Forza or have left the series? Sure (very many), but I'm not going to get upset if a car that's not on my list gets precedence over the hundreds that are.

Man I wish they'd drop the HW partnership and focus on more 'real' cars - the HW expansion for FH3 was cool for the first week, then once completed it's just a bit boring. Why not focus their resources on older rally cars ? Like, I don't know, a Group A / 97-02 WRC legends pack. That'd be cooler than any HW car.

Group A cars are more or less already covered with the road legal homologation specials. With modifications, tuning and custom liveries you can almost recreate the rally versions to the point where the actual WRC cars are rather redundant. After all FH4 is not a conventional rally game.

I agree about Hot Wheels though. I looked forward to the map in FH3, but ultimately the tracks didn't work well with Forza's realism-inspired physics. So indeed, more "normal" cars please.

The thing is, those Hot Wheels vehicles are modelled based on their life-size counterparts.

It's always about no car count is enough :D I rather play with few cars and know them better than have 500+ cars in one game. But that's me.
It’s true that I may have at some point less than 20 favorite cars accross all categories, however I do appreciate having 500+ to try and choose from.

I consider the entitlement to be one of the worst aspects of the Forza fanbase.

I am in the minority that is afraid they will revamp some of the older models.
They did that with the FM5, and many body kits were lost.
This was very painful for me because I want to customize my car to my liking both visually and performance wise.

If I wanted to use a high quality stock model, my best option would be GT Sport. No matter how hard T10 or PG tried, it would be impossible to surpass the quality of their models.

The thing I love about both Hot Wheels and Lego is I played with both as a kid. Often at the same time. I’m pretty sure we all did. Right now we can drive Hot Wheels cars in Lego environments, so I’m hoping for a full HW expansion so we can go the other way and play with our Lego cars on HW tracks. Just like we did when we were ten.

That would be pretty cool, having the ability to build your own Hot Wheels stunt tracks. However I've found the UI and placement of obstacles a bit tricky while attempting to do some custom Super7 scenarios, I think it could use a bit of refinement/ease of use should that feature be expanded upon or retained for future titles.

I loved the FH3 expansion, though one of my biggest problems with it was that it ultimately depended on which camera angle you were using, as the loops and corkscrews on some of the tracks easily became disorienting.

Yeah, it's pretty good. The problem is I can't see much differences between cars and not fully working cockpits don't help. Currently I play Project cars 1 and every car is different. You need to play with the car before any race if you want to be fast because it's so different.

Horizon 4 is great racing game and one of the best ever for sure but more realistic driving would be nice. I know, the design is mostly for people who can't drive but it would be good to have an option. Physics under the hood should be very good.

Just tried to relaunch Horizon 4 After 5 months off, and my game freeze right after the first loading, menus won't load, tried to empty the cache, reinstall the whole game, and still not working, I'm so bummed I had almost every forzathon cars ... I can't resolve to erase my gamesave ...

I played with hot wheels until i got to high school and was building with legos until right after high school. I miss those days but i just slowly outgrew both although a piece of my mind has still been drawn to legos.

New cars mentioned in the files:
- 2020 Jeep Gladiator
- 1960 Porsche 356 RSR Emory
- 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk (has a "HW" suffix but I can't find any evidence of a Hot Wheels version)

Also the RAESR Tachyon has had references to some audio files in one of the XMLs for ages, they didn't exist until the most recent update, so that might be coming soon.
where did you get these decrypted game files?

I still buy them even though I’m almost 30 I only get realistic ones.

You never outgrow hot wheels or legos.

Speaking of... Was there a hot wheels car that was your all time favorite? For me it was a chaparral 2d race car...

shame I forgot to take it out of the box before I gave them to my cousin... got a model of a race car that i think is equally my fav. a model of a 1998 porsche 911 gt1 race car (2nd place at le mans not the one that actually came in first though...)

Definitely Power Pistons for me, I grew up playing Hot Wheels: Velocity X and many of the cars in that game are prime Hot Wheels designs in my opinion:
340

Oh wow, seeing that car just takes me right back. I used to have a plastic box full of the hotwheels I used to play with, and that one was certainly my second favorite.

The one below is my most favorite one. Trying to find this car took some time because I actually don't know name of any hot wheels cars

Ah, that's Maelstrom. Certainly a good casting as well.

That's why I like these cars from the Legends Tour so much. They're like real-life Hot Wheels (as they're intended to be) and I would be so happy to see any of them in Forza Horizon 4. With or without an expansion.
