I just don’t see it. In fact, if anything, you’ve convinced me of how accurate the model is. I honestly think it’s all in your head. You’ve convinced yourself it’s off-model, and despite the visual evidence to the contrary, you can’t see it any other way.

Really? Just looking at those two pictures, it looks wrong to me. I'll have to do some overlays later. Couple things that are describable/observable:

Look at the distance from the pop-up headlight closure line to the fixed lamps. In real life, it's about a quarter the width of the fixed lamp. In the game, it's basically the full width. (this translates to it looking weird when the headlights are up) Then look at how the front wing/fender curves in on the real car (where it meets the front bumper) whereas it's mostly flat in the model. The edges of the front bumper itself are more simple and rectangular-edged than the real car. The curvature of the tops of the "fenders" (or whatever you would call the top surface of the front outside of the frunk) is different between the images. These are all minor nitpicks, but I genuinely feel like the model is also proportionally wrong. I'll have to break out the photoshop later to prove it, but I *think* the Forza model is too short (in length I mean) versus its height.

"Altezza lights" (or in the UK "Lexus lights", which scans better) is simply shorthand for clear lense pods.

When there are 2 of them parked side by side, obviously it shortens to "Lexii lights". A-ha!

I do hope all models are gone over with a fine tooth comb for FH5 and Motorsport "8" because over this Xbox One generation a lot of stuff seems to have regressed. Silly things like the Jaguar RS badge on the '13 Clio steering wheel since FH3 and messed up '95 M5 Light textures. Then there is weird modelling like the Evo 9, fine on 360, but on XBOne is doing is best Total Recall impression and changing the Altima's rear wing from '15 spec to pre '15 spec (and wrong wheels) for the 2017 cars. Then there are the returning cars like the M3 GTR and GTS, Shelby 1000 and new cars like the GT500 that are minimal effort mods of the existing cars in game, even the S2000 207 is missing its dash display. But the weirdest one for me has to be the 22B and RX-7 Spirit R that have been remodelled and been made different not better, maybe even slight worse than before.

It might sound nit picky but I enjoy the cars as much as the gameplay and racing, where as I know some aren't too bothered if the AE86 vaguely looks like one as long as its useful gameplay wise or competitive online.

I can't decide if it bothers me more now because my standards for game visuals have generally increased or whether the poor quality models look so much more jarring with increasingly photo-realistic visuals. It's probably both.

(I freely admit my attention to detail is bordering on clinically insane - IRL I agonize over a 1" tall air slot in the facade of a 385' tall building, for example)

Does anyone have a good Super GT build for the Forzathon speed trap? I'm short for about 20 mph.

This took me a while too. So many Super GTs don't have enough torque to get its pull from 300 to 370kph very quickly when you turn around that wide bend from the west end of the street. And it also doesn't help a good chunk of them don't have swappable engines nor adequate parts to upgrade.

I believe I made the objective by 0.89kph with the 2012 Vantage S or the new Vantage with the Racing V12 engine. Kept the 5th gear redlining long enough until it pulled to 370. I was so focused on the speedometer that I didn't see the car I smashed into immediately after crossing the speed trap

In the next generation of Forza, one of the things I'm most looking forward to (and hoping for) in the car models is better headlights.
Like the Emory 356 that will be released next week, the cloudy white headlights make the car look like a cheap toy.
If the next generation of Forza improves this texture of the headlights, it will probably make many models look very good.

To add some positivity into this thread, apparently Chris Esaki was going to talk about FM Rebooted/8 last month but delayed it. So crossing fingers we hear something about it this coming Forza Monthly on Monday.

Hopefully they would share a few screenshots of what they vision the game to look and be like. 👍

Would explain why they separated the FH4 update and Forza Monthly streams this time. They have been merging them into a single stream fairly often lately. Separating the streams would allow them to spend more time on the new Motorsport during the Forza Monthly.

Agreed, my thoughts exactly! I prefer this way than the other way, especially if it means stopping them from recapping FH4's previous stream. Imo, we don't need that on Forza Monthly.

Separating both games into there own streams would not only benefit the devs themselves, but also us in the long run because then we can hear what both T10 and PG individually have to share via news. For me, this would be a wonderful treat for us all leading up to summer.

I'm REALLY hoping they stick to this format all the way through which will make Forza Monthly exciting again, because, uhh, it's been kinda lacking in that department lately.

Have you got it yet? I used the
Ferrari 812 Superfast
. It didn’t need an engine swap. Just all the performance parts and careful tuning of the gearbox.

Would you believe I have topped at 229.XX mph? This is the toughest Forzathon in recent memory!
Edit: Finally did it in the Ferrari F12, fully maxed out.
On a side note, I've had it with the errant traffic. For the next game I do hope that there is either a no traffic option, or a way of isolating speed traps like separate events.

If you want to use my tune for the
Ferrari 812 Superfast, it’s called “Princes St 230”, and my creator name is “PopuluxeCowboy”. Here’s video proof I got 230 mph with it. Oh, since I didn’t mention it in the video description, I used auto/no clutch, but I have traction and stability control off.

I was playing FM4 last night and they way the muscle cars idle on a nice surround sound would rattle the pictures on my wall, I wish Horizon would have the same audio quality.

Many people have a natural bias for bass, and I sometimes wonder if that’s why FM4 car sounds get so much praise. To me the cars in FM4 feel too synthesized underneath all the bass rumble.

On the contrary FH4 cars seem too light on the bass, but the actual car recordings sound better to me. FM6 got the balance right, in my opinion.

I agree that FM4 sounded heavily synthesized, distorted & phaser like. Unfortunately FH4 also does to my ears. I didn't play FM6, but I have FH3 and to my ears its really good. I also thought FH1 was really good. Dirt Rally should be the benchmark for racing game audio...that game sounds sensational and I hope that PG T10 have taken note.

Since the 1968 Pontiac Firebird has returned, the 1969 Shelby GT500 428CJ is the only car left from the Forza Motorsport 4 American Muscle Car Pack!

Gah! I can only hope! This is such a tease, although I'd prefer the '67 GT500 over the '69. I'm not a huge fan of the front end treatment of the '69 and '70 Shelby Mustangs, but a Shelby is a Shelby, regardless.

Wonder if there's any truth in these leaks. Supposed map leaks for Forza Horizon 5. I'd love them to be true as I really think Japan would be perfect. Thoughts?

I really hope so! I never was into drifting but surprisingly it's one of the most fun things to do in FH4 for me, so Japan aesthetics with more drifting events variety would be a dream come true.

I really wasn’t expecting it, but I’ve completely fallen in love with the Raesr, I can’t stop playing with it :D

I love the way it looks, I love the way it drives, I even love the way it sounds, I just love everything about it

It’s my new favourite electric car in the game, and probably will remain so unless the RS E-Tron GT gets added ;)

Glad I'm not the only one who loves the RASER. I think it's pretty good too, minus the acceleration being a downer. Everything else however, is spot on imo. :)
