Weird, they were already in the list since they were in the car list here before yesterday, so I'm not sure what changed (maybe confirmation of licensing?)

Edit: nevermind, it was a video posted a little over a week ago that went through the cars in the game that showed the MINIs. I suppose PG is just confirming it on their list.

Forza Ford relationship is pretty crazy.

I still want them to add the GT-40 MKIV though... even at 59 cars already.

Would love to have some GT-40 MK IV vs Porsche 917 races.
as much as i love the gt-40 mk iv it never actually competed against the 917. it only raced in 2 races in 1967. 24 hours of le mans and 12 hours of sebring. however it did raced against the 910 and 907. in the 1969 race which the 917 took part only the gt40 MKI was used.

With how close we are to release, the absence of Alfa, Fiat, Abarth, etc. Is starting to worry me
There are 538 cars in the final build (from monday's stream): we know 530 and the 8 remaining cars are from the launch FD pack.

Unless there's a surprise day 1 update, I am 100% certain those cars aren't going to be in the game... yet. Maybe in the future, as it happened with Mitsubishi in FH4.

Talking about absences, Rocket Bunny might not be in the game but there is 1 car that has one RB widebody kit: the Hoonigan Escort RS1800

But then, what about this guy?

Those who've played it say it's not a kit for the regular Lamborghini Huracan. In fact, that is clearly the Huracan Evo, which still hasn't been revealed. Could it be already from the Car Pass? But if it's from the Car Pass, why is it in the base-game's start screen (right side)?

I don't think that would show cars you cannot drive just by owning the base game. Something doesn't add up.

Of course the MK IV would need some upgrades to compete with the 917 but it would still be a fun race between two Le Mans legends.

The great thing about Le Mans is that speed was only a part of the equation and reliability mattered even more than speed.

I kind of hope Forza Motorsport implements a system that can cause damage to your vehicle if you redline it too much or overheat it too much in a endurance race.

Decided to make a list of missing manufacturers so far just to compare:

I have nothing else to say other than how sad this is. The launch car list is looking like it's a giant letdown. I really hope they will add plenty of these back because they will all be sorely missed my me and I'm sure by several others.

I believe DS is also part of Stellantis.....

If Terradyne Gurkha is not present in the launch car list, I will despair.
This car was truly one of my favorites, and its tougher-than-Hummer, Landrover, or Jeep design with real military specs was the best thing that ever happened to me as a lover of such cars.
And with the addition of the awesome Racing 7.2 V8 engine in FH4, this behemoth had been transformed into a true off-road monster.

The optimistic thought in me consoled me with the thought that this car, like the Isetta and Peel, would never be deleted because it was a free-roam favorite.
But with the addition of the devil's system of playlists, they can delete more cars at launch.
And the pessimistic thought in me whispers that these unique and popular cars should be good bait to force people to playlist.

What will happen to one of my beloved cars?
I will have to spend two more weeks in fear.

If I’m honest Alfa Romeo is the biggest name on the missing list for me personally with honerable mentions for Citroën/DS, Lancia and Fiat/Abarth. I still miss Tesla as well to be honest. 😔 Could really do with the Model S and most certainly that Roadster. There are 5 EV’s at launch, I’m not the biggest fan of EVs but some more variety in that branch would be welcome (3 out of 5 EVs are hypercars…). I’ve been cruising around in EVs a bit in FH4 as of late and they are in fact nice to just roam around in while taking in all the environmental sound (FH5 does seem to have incredible environmental sound, just remember that 30 minute video the Forza channel released a while ago).

However I’m not as bummed as I was when VW didn’t make it into FH3 or Toyota in FH4. I was absolutely scared we were going to miss BMW but luckily the preview build revealed that BMW was in. Not that I’m a big BMW fan per se, but a big brand like that with some great retro and modern cars would be missed if left out.

I 100% agree. I have a strong feeling we'll see some of the again-missing manufacturers like Hudson and Rossion through Festival Playlist. I'm not so worried this time around with these missing brands because PG was so good about adding cars to Horizon 4. Hopefully they continue that trend even better this time around.

I don't know what to say about the missing Stellantis brands though. I'm worried, but as you said as well, not as bummed about it. I'm very glad we finally have Toyota back safe and sound. The launch car list has enough of my favorites on it to tide me over, but I'm still disappointed that so many cars (especially weirder ones) got cut again. I'm not a big fan of the drip-feeding, but I would rather that than these cars not come back

Since Alfa Romeo seems to be in GT7, I wonder if this is again a PD attempt to block brands from Forza games. If so, that would be lame. I have a PS4 Pro as well, if they want to make me buy GT7 then that has to be by making GT7 a great game, not by denying car brands to other games...

Again? I'm not aware of it happening even once, for any attempt to be considered an "again". Are you thinking of the situation with Toyota, which looked like an exclusivity deal but clearly wasn't?

The "Stellantis" connection is well worth bearing in mind here. Looking at the car lists, none of the Stellantis brands (Abarth, Alfa, Chrysler, Citroen, Dodge/RAM, DS, FIAT, Jeep, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, Vauxhall) which appear on the FH5 car list (Citroen, Dodge, FIAT, Jeep, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, Vauxhall) have any new vehicles at all.

As my motor industry colleagues will attest, the Stellantis merger has resulted in the PR and press fleets for the individual brands being unified - which isn't a particularly common situation; most brands have their own PR whether owned by a larger concern or not, with a corporate PR operating above that but separately for brands owned by a common entity like VW/Aud/Skoda/Seat/Porsche.

That absolutely could result in expiring contracts not being renewed (Alfa) and existing ones remaining in place unchanged until they expire (the brands in FH5).

There's no need to imagine exclusivity clauses held by other developers at this point, especially because car companies are now seemingly wise to this after the Porsche/EA issue.

The old but still very true and legitimate reasoning of "Licensing is hard"

And due to Forza wanting to try their best to get these brands back at some point you can bet they'll stay as tight lipped as possible.

The official list has been updated again with the 4 Bentleys that were in the preview build, the Formula Drift BMW 3 Series, and the MkII GT40
I have a feeling this week we'll be getting the final Day One Car list.

Some of the barn finds have still not shown up on the official list, and I imagine some announcement on the Day One Formula Drift Car Pack + Series 1 Car Pass cars has to come at some point. I think aside from that, we're pretty much locked in on the launch list aside from some last minute day one heroics from PG.

Forza tends to remove older models and slower trim levels based on the "latest or fastest" rule.

However, this rule often deletes older models that had body kits option, leaving only boring newer models that do not have body kits option.
And Continental has become a victim of that rule.

The Turbo R may be added in the playlist, but I am afraid that the old Continental may possibly never be playable again like the Abarth 500 esseesse.

This needs to stop by the time the next Motorsport releases.

In terms of FH5, they should at least bring those older model variants back through Festival Playlists, because this is already becoming a worrying problem that these models might never be playable again.

I see you fixed the Morgan error from 3 to 1. But I’m 99.9% sure the list you have on the first page is now also 528 total cars instead of 530 cars. I have them all in a spreadsheet (easy to see total number of rows) and our lists seem to match.

I do not know how this guy managed to decrypt the game's files, but he found every barn find in the game.

Here are the Barn Finds:
  • 1973 BMW 2002 Turbo
  • 1953 Chevrolet Corvette
  • 1968 Dodge Dart HEMI Super Stock
  • 1999 Dodge Viper GTS ACR
  • 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO
  • 1989 Ferrari F40 Competizione
  • 1967 Ford Escort MK1
  • 1956 Ford F100
  • 1968 Ford Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback
  • 1970 GMC Jimmy
  • 1991 Jaguar XJR-15
  • 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS
  • 1968 Renault 4L Export
  • 1993 #1 Toyota T100 Baja Truck
  • 1966 Volkswagen Beetle

Apparently, Flowstreet was messaged by a friend/follower of his via WhatsApp, claiming that he has leaked the car list, and barn finds.
