Oh great, another million hp boat that weighs as much as a small planet. With the addition of the Cobra R, surely this is the racing game with the most Mustangs in its roster ever? Outside of the old Mustang game, anyway.

At least it isn't the Redeye Widebody. Though, at this point, it's probably the closest thing to it Horizon will ever get. :P

Also, hey, I'm an SN95 simp, I will not stand for this heresy!

Hey, at least it's lighter than the most recent BMW M5, which is a literal brick ****house, to the point where you can consider it to be made out of actual bricks.

Seems really odd to me that they have killed off new updates this early into the new year either FH6 is literally round the corner or FH5 is just going to be super boring for the foreseeable until they actually announce FH6... 😕

They had a huge gap between FM7 getting new content and FM23, so it's not like Microsoft hasn't done this before...

True but Motorsport is different usually the horizon games die off and there is a new one shorty after. just strange for them to stop new updates now why not keep updates going untill at least an announcement for the next game.

I agree. I'd assume that the player base won't come back as easily if you leave them alone with no updates for a year+

Maybe their play/sales figures imply that this doesn't happen though, especially with Gamepass?

Here comes China FH6 with a late September or early October 2025 release I reckon. Although I really do hope it's South Africa we're off to.
Would they really risk competing directly with the release date of the juggernaut known as GTA6?

I dunno, I'm still Team Germany. As important as China is, if Horizon is being released on PlayStation starting with 6, it might be worthwhile to go to a location with pretty much competitive market share between the two consoles. That, and I think Horizon does need a return to form after Mexico's map.

Germany is getting a lot of mentions on YouTube recently.

I do agree with your comment about the map bud. Whilst it's not awful, it's just too empty in places.

All this location talk has me thinking....

I wonder what the Shortlist of Locations was/is for FH6.

I remember back in the FH2/FH3 days, the former Creative Director for Horizon (Ralph Fulton) said they usually narrowed down the location to a shortlist of 3 places. Could be a fun exercise to pass the time since the Festival Playlist is ending soon.

My guess;

  • Germany
  • South Korea
  • California, USA

I'm going to assume that they'll likely be looking at the crown jewels of rallying. With Britain already covered, that just leaves, in my mind's eye...

  • Germany
  • Finland (or any of the Nordic countries for that matter)
  • Greece
If Horizon is going to be on ForzaTech, and get improved rally physics, it'll need to be somewhere that rally fans will hold dear. With Germany technically back on the WRC calendar through the Central European Rally, that would fit splendidly, though you can't ignore Finland's claim to the title of "the grand prix of rally."

The outsider looking in might be Kenya, thanks to it being the home of the Safari Rally and Rally Kenya. But... That's Africa.

I think FH6 would be really interesting if they made a big chunk of the map into multiple mountains. Kind of like the foothills of the Alps.

I am personally rooting for either Sweden or Japan. Both have rich automotive histories that could be tapped into. Sweden would be kinda pointless without Saab, but Japan has the entire Kei car scene and a boatload of cool classic cars that Forza hasn't touched.

I think so. The games are two completely different genres bud, plus GTA6 isn't going to come to GamePass day 1. FH6 will be on GamePass day 1.

I might well be wrong, but this is my prediction.
In the case of GTA 6 it’s not that important imo if these are different genres, almost anyone wants to play it, no matter what kind of players they are

No one has thought about the idea of there not being an FH6 and it becomes FH World Festival or something similar?

With games as a service, it doesn't seem like a crazy idea make something like that to extend the life of the game.

With different places connected by tunnels or bridges, which together would give a fairly large map and most importantly very varied.

Have a place in America, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Africa.

With the creations seen on eventlab, in my case I have not felt that connection with Mexico that I did have with the places of the previous Horizons.

and people will complain about the game size

That’s a good point, part of me is afraid that could be true because games as a service always rings some alarm bells within me because there’s the risk we get a stripped down version of the game we love so much, especially content wise, that it loses its soul and that we need to pay for things that were (and should be) part of the main game.
But the other part of me is curious because FH is the kind of game that could fit into this terrain if it’s well made. Gaas don’t have to be bad in general (even when most are imo), in some cases I think it can lead to some kind of evolution for a IP, if that’s the case for FH I’m not sure, but there’s at least potential for it.

I feel like South Korea is plausible, especially considering FH5 has been getting a ton of Hyundais.

Also, FH6 wouldn't want to clash with either Assetto Corsa EVO (Germany) or Tokyo Xtreme Racer (Japan) with its location, and since there hasn't been a location in Asia yet, I think South Korea could be the next location for FH6.
