Practically everything in Brooklyn "kinda fell off".
While this is a huge point in Forza's favor, as it's about the only reason I like the series, sorry to say, I don't have an infinite amount of time to spend on it. I already need a 40 hour day to do all I want to, and add Forza 3 to that, and it would be 50. Yes, F3, I'll give F4 the benefit of the doubt. The only reason why I would beg to differ with you is because while it's kinda messed up that the large amount of decals you have slows down the system when accessing them at least you have them.
The menus are a bit ugly, imo. T10 just can't design clean menus without blinding you in FM3.
As pointed out, Le Sarthe is still there as is Sunset. Many of the tracks have not been officially announced on T10's website, but this link will give you the full run down after the car list.Right, that doesn't make a lot of sense, the reason I ask is that the 'official track list' doesn't show Le Sarthe anywhere, nor does it show one of my favourite tracks from FM2 and FM3 (Sunset Peninsula Infield).
I hear you man. Not much I can say but I feel the same based on the same criteria except that FM wins those. While this is a huge point in Forza's favor, as it's about the only reason I like the series, sorry to say, I don't have an infinite amount of time to spend on it. It's that if I have to chose a game based on the racing and car ownership, GT5 wins on the feel, driver views and car selection, Standards and all. Yes, I like Japanese sports cars.
Just found something mildly interesting/amusing. I was looking on Metacritic and looked over the details and credits of FM4 to see this.
ESRB Descriptors: Mild Animated Blood I know it's irrelevant but gave me a good laugh.
...seriously? Mild blood? lol

So, i'm pretty much a lover of sound. Some people love graphics, others gameplay. I am an audio nut and is by far my favourite aspect of racing games. Give me Pole Position graphics and Outrun handling with an amazing exhaust, engine, turbo etc..soundtrack and i'll be in heaven.
Now, what I loved about FM2 was the fact that nearly all associated engine upgrades resulted in different exhaust and engine notes. I reveled in that day and night. Come FM3, I was severley disappointed that sounds hardly changed save for some dump valves and supercharger effects. I was shattered.
I wished and hoped that for FM4, all that would change. I heard that Nick Wiswell of PGR fame would be onboard for this game and my hype level began to rise purely because of his work in the PGR series. At first, I was a little worried about the new DSP system that he said would be implemented into the game where exhaust,engine..etc notes would not feature swapped out samples but rather, they would be changed in real time depending on upgrades. I was a little sceptical.......boy was I proven wrong.....
After getting my grubby little hands(actually, a fiends hands) on FM4 recently, I almost went into shock!
All I can say is that hands down,by a MASSIVE margin, undoubtedly, unequivocally, FM4 is the best sounding game I have ever heard!!
Firstly, the stock sounds of all cars sound impressive off the bat. All notes are faithfully recreated in a harmonious manner throughout the rev ranges. The on and off throttle effects are different and distinct. Now, here's the fun part. When applying a stage 1 exhaust, all of a sudden, things sound different. Notes become raspier, more raw than stock. Proceed to stage 2, it gets better again. More effects are applied and you start to hear the upper rev range getting crazier. Move on to stage 3....forget about it. Noises you haven't heard previously are now audible. The sounds scream at you at high RPM's. Off throttle sounds are also changed and features other effects on over runs.
Add air filters, cams, manifolds on top of all that, and you get a symphony that would be welcome at any opera house in the world!
Now, turbos and superchargers. Previous FM's featured generic samples of turbo spools, blow off valves, wastegate chatter and straight cut gear whine which was pretty boring. Forget all about that now. Mr. Wiswell, the master genius has changed all that. Gone are the simple 'sshhh' bov's and instead, we get a multitude of different samples. I've heard at least 5 different BOV samples myself. What i've noticed is that it all depends on the car and the upgrade. For example, adding a stage 2 turbo to the BMW 2002 will sound totally different to a stage 2 on a Nissan Silvia in sample and loudness. It's a touch that is realistic and very, very appreciated. Same thing goes for supercharger whine.
The straight cut gear whine will now change pitch in a realistic manner in each gear where it didn't happen properly in FM3. Very well implemented.
Wait 'till you hear these cars, they are mindblowing, orgasmic, ear drum busting audio byte heaven!
If fans of sounds are sceptical, don't be. You are in for a treat. If the sound team don't receive awards for their efforts, then I will be in an uproar. They truly deserve every accolade available because what Turn 10 have produced here is an unrivaled display of audio mastery and their work will no doubt echo through eternity...
Thank you Turn 10!
