I've got a question not really worth creating a new thread for. If somebody could share their knowledge, I'd be much obliged.

Can you only join one car club or are you allowed to join multiple clubs?

So I just bought a 360 and ordered a copy of Forza 4 to pick up tomorrow! So excited!

I just started up my xbox though. Got the language set to english. And now i'ts asking me to "Select your locale." should I pick Japan or United States? Does it matter? I have friends in the US and Japan that I want to play with. But mostly the US. Hopefully you guys get back to me quickly.

-Cheers

To add to this. It says that I don't have to pay for Xbox Live. Is this true? My little knowledge of japanese says that maybe I get one month free?

Xbox Live membership is free. Xbox Live Gold membership is not. You need Xbox Live Gold membership to play online and use Party Chat features. Everything else (friend list, messaging, marketplace access) is available to all Xbox Live members.

You have three Xbox Live Gold "one month trials" included with any new console. These trials are not cumulative (you'll need to create three accounts if you want to use the three of them).

As far as I know, the "Locale" setting has no effect, except maybe for Matchmaking or date format display (I think there's a specific setting for that ...)

Edit : When you create an Xbox Live account on your Xbox 360, you should automatically get a one month Xbox Live Gold free trial (or be offered to get one).

Note that you can create "offline profiles" as well as Xbox Live accounts on your 360. And know that your saves will be tied either to an "offline profile" or an Xbox Live account. As such, your saves cannot be "transferred" from an account to another (you can usually copy them "physically" of course). However, any "offline profile" can be upgraded to an Xbox Live account if you wish, as long as your console is connected to the Internet, granted you'll probably need to change your username which will then become a "Gamertag". Upgrading an "offline profile" to an Xbox Live account will of course tie to that account the saves which were tied to the previous "offline profile".

Edit 2 : The locale setting is a console setting and therefore can be changed at will.

Cockpit view in this game is now my favorite. The sound and the appropriate movement in the view is just so immense. Anyone else relieved the F1 cockpit was fixed compared to its first showing?

Yep so i guess I just used one of my free months. or technically the only one with this account. But all I have to do is buy the membership card things to keep the account right?

Just downloaded the Forza 4 demo. First race in it. I dominated, guess easy difficulty was not a smart idea. I have to say that I love the playability of it. Seems really inviting. The car graphics are stunning. Equal to that of Gran Turismo 5 in my opinion. The surrounding graphics are about the same. Not perfect but good enough. The physics are better than most games, but they don't feel like they are quite as sharp as GT5's. Sounds in Forza 4 are amazing, sounds good even on a bad speaker system. I'm very impressed with the demo.

Still excited to pick up the game tomorrow. Have to wait for the evening to play it though :(

Xbox Live Gold membership can be maintained using varying ways, the most common ones being prepaid cards bought at various stores and/or direct credit card payments.

That's what I was planning on doing. thanks for the help!

Dammit, still waiting, why are games always released a bit late in Australia?! Gonna try getting it tomorow, but probably will fully enjoy it on the weekends.

Awesome sound and graphics. Great menus and menu music too. Top gear book and auto vista say the exact same thing. Sucks.

Disc 2 install is 2.8 gb or so. Not 11?.

Here's a question for you guys.

As we all know, in GT5 you can add minimal rear downforce to street cars and no frontal downforce (barring a small handful).

What's FM4 like in this regard? Can I actually give my favorite street cars rear AND frontal downforce?

Also, I've heard that FM3 had engine swaps and drivetrain conversions. Is this in 4? And can these things be done to all cars or only a select few?

Thanks.

I had heard that you can still engine swap and switch drivetrain. Not completely sure though.

On my phone so I can't multi quote.

Thanks for the answer guys. So I assume those swaps are available for all cars then?

Any idea regarding the downforce options?

You could previously in F3. I would imagine so. I don't have the game.

It's unlikely such a basic feature would be removed. Still, note that some rare cars cannot be upgraded to increase downforce/allow downforce to be adjusted. But these cars are the exception, not the norm.

Edit : To be even clearer, with some rare exceptions (such as race cars, which already possess adjustable downforce), all cars in FM3 have at least two upgrades available "add front spoiler" and "add rear wing". When each upgrade has been installed, downforce from the corresponding part becomes adjustable.

Still, some very rare cars have the front and/or rear which cannot be upgraded to allow downforce adjustment. If that sentence makes sense.

Yeah, the only problem I see now is the aftermarket spoilers from real companies arent adjustable even though they would be in real life.
To much to calculate maybe?

But I'm too busy taking spoilers off.

Awesome. Thank you.

The lack of front downforce in GT5 is easily one of my biggest gripes, so I'm glad to have FM4 arriving tomorrow.

You've been able to add adjustable front and rear aero to cars since FM1.

Some aftermarket kids have low downforce while most (not sure if all) street cars have an option to get a "forza" aero package which has adjustable downforce.

And Engine/Drivetrain swaps appear to be more limited than FM3s but they're still there.

Sorry. No idea. I don't watch top gear but I do like it ok when I have seen a few episodes. And I don't know any songs by name.

There is one part that I think is top gear music but not sure. Instrumental and only a bit played. I think, not sure. I liked it.
