In game. The car model for it is an absolute shocker.

As for people thinking I'm the only one to be complaining, what is there new and worthwhile for Xbox One players? I won't be getting the benefits of the One X version as I won't be getting one of those any time soon so to me, it'll be Forza 6.5. That's not worth £80 to me for cars I used extensively on the 360 with minimal introductions that aren't similar to what's in there already.

Sure the One X Version will get some bells and whistles visually, and if you're into to that, that's great. But everything else about the game is functionally the same as the normal Xbox One version. So all of these improvements from 6 to 7
  • Dynamic Weather on some tracks
  • Dynamic Skies (unsure if this is on all tracks, meaning we'll have extensive TOD options on all tracks like GTS)
  • All of the new tracks (Maple Valley, Mugello, Dubai, Suzuka and I assume they're not done there) + cars
  • Revamped Career mode w/ Motorsport inspired scoring system, championships, customizable race length, Showcase Events with exclusive reward cars, huge surprise at the end of it,more details coming at Gamescom
  • New Widebody kits including underground/street style & race oriented kits designed in house by T10 + the FH3 Widebodies
  • Forza Edition cars (Horizon Edition equivalents), Blowers from FH3, New rims (described as Motorsport-styled wheels) + rims from FH3
  • Selectable driver suits, with more than 300 driver gear sets to unlock
  • Mixer integration and new spectator cameras for enhanced viewing experience. (not sure if this extends to replay cameras)
  • Forzathon from FH3, AH from FH3, "Timed Vendor" option, (expect more news closer to launch)
  • Penalties for track cutting, crashing into people, have been added including time increases on lap times/race times and dirty laps marked.
  • Interactive loading screens allow you to change cars, gear and settings while a track loads, Custom soundtracks can be integrated into the game, with your music playing through on-track speakers etc
  • Multiplayer improvements including hot-lapping before the start of a race while waiting for others, setups can be adjusted pre-race, Non-racing rooms, such as track days, are now possible, Forzavista can be used in pit-lane pre-race.
  • Audio & Physics improvements (finally driveline flex is in!), New Assist (Friction, aka control in the grass), Windshield wipers, spoilers and more shake and rattle from bumps, Mod cards return.
Plus anything they haven't announced yet. Gamescom is in a couple days, I'd expect a trailer there with perhaps some gameplay from a behind closed door demo (they did this with FH3, FM6 and FH2 at Gamescom). Still a lot of content to confirm as well (I know the answer is probably no to a few of last points I listed..still need to be confirmed nonetheless)
  • A full tracklist w/ details on potential new ribbons, what tracks have weather, TOD etc.
  • A full car list - how many new to forza cars will we be getting, what race cars are there, any more FM4 returns
  • details on the VIP + Day One Car Packs
  • More on career - how the car collection aspect will work
  • Spectating features - will we see new TV Style Replay angles? More viewing options?
  • Storefront/AH - Will the Storefront return, will the AH get any new improvements over FH3, will the Legend Tuners & Painters status be back
  • Anymore dedicated race features - Will Rolling Starts, Quickstops return from FM6? Will Qualifying and More Pit Options/Strategies feature?
  • FreePlay - Will it be largely like FM6 or will we get some more options like Blueprint from FH3?
  • Livery Editor, Photomode, Tuning - Any improvements in these aspects.
  • Customization - How many new bodykits/wheels will we get, will all of the kits/wheels return from FH3 & any new customization options like adjustable wheel offset etc.
Anyway, if those set of features/improvements don't really appeal to you then fair enough, dont buy the game, but calling a game .1 or .5 of the last iteration seems silly to me. The same amount of development time has gone into it, only difference is the features they're adding aren't appealing/resonating with you as much as they do to others.

I just realised the potential of blueprints + car buckets (if buckets are present).

I imagine there will be more division in the blueprint classes (i.e. Instead of just Extreme Track Toys we get GT3, Le Mans, etc) - how amazing would it be to blueprint a multiclass race? GTE and LMP1, or even things like sedans versus muscle, I really hope we can still make buckets like in FM4 online.

That's the thing with Forza: untapped potential.

I really like Forza as it offers so much variety and it doesn't take itself too serious. But the other side of this is that there is so much untapped potential in the car list. In Forza Motorsport 4 you could create your own (online) races against the AI and select their cars. This sadly isn't possible in FM6 and before they updated Freeplay so that you could choose divisions it was terrible. Now I love doing 1960s GP, 1976 F1, Early GT, Modern GT and prototype races :)

I would love to be able to create a FIA WEC style race with blueprint. Pick the GTE and LMP1 cars and select the tracks from the championship: Silverstone, Spa, Le Mans, Nürburgring GP and COTA. Sadly we don't have Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Fuji, Shanghai and Bahrain.

It would also like to be able to select the year for this. When I'm driving the Porsche 929 Hybrid I want to race against the 2014 Audi R18 and Toyota TS040, not against the Peugeot 908 or the Group C machinery. Blueprint should also be a good way to separate GTE from GT3 and the older GT2 cars such as the BMW M3 GT2.

FH3 blueprints allowed individual selection of a pool of 20 (?) cars, so picking Le Mans beasts by year should be as easy as just saying "I want the 919 and R18".

What I meant by the potential bit was being able to divide our pool - we could easily select the R8 LMS and R18 like in FH3, but the drivatars know an R8 can't compete so none of them would use it. This is where I hope they divide it by buckets, so the two aren't actually competing.

Regardless of potential, we've already seen that individual selection of cars in FH3, so I'm not worried about that not making it in to FM7, and I can certainly make do without buckets as long as we retain the FH3 version.

I really hope it does. But I have my doubts. If Blueprint was in FM7 (or an overhauled free-play in which you can set the car parameters) I would have thought they would have announced that already, or at least let it slip at E3.

I thought it was already confirmed?

I could've sworn I saw something along the lines of blueprints and user-configurable race length in career.

EDIT: Unless it turns out I was looking at someone's wishlist :P

The latter is true, you can select race length in career. I don't think we've had any mention of any changes to free-play from FM6, no mention of blueprint and not even a mention if the extremely annoying issue of literally over 100 cars in FM6 lacking a division type thus being useless in career. If it has been confirmed please do correct me, I'd love to be wrong on this :)

I agree with you, if you already own FM6 and FH3 then FM7 doesn't bring that much new interesting things to the table, certainly not if you don't have an X1X or high end PC to benefit from 4K and HDR.

My main racing game this fall will hands down be Project CARS 2, initially I planned to pass on FM7 altogether but with the deal for the Hoonigan pack for FH3 I decided to pre-order it anyway. I don't expect much from FM7 though other than an even bigger car collection game than FM6 already is. I do have a 4K HDR Dolby Atmos setup in my living room and since 100 EUR more or less doesn't matter at all at my age, I decided I might as well give it a try. It can coexist perfectly next to Project CARS 2, the latter will be for the realistic sim racing experience with qualifying, dynamic weather and different tyre strategies while FM6 will be fun to goof around with for the 700+ cars, ForzaVista and a few tracks which are not in PC2 (like Mugello). Who knows maybe this revamped career mode could be fun. While I do appreciate a game like PC2 without a currency system to buy cars, I have to admit I really enjoyed buying the cars, hiring the staff and upgrading facilities with currency in Dirt 4. So FM7 will cover that "credits/economy" aspect just fine as well.

No, you cannot buy FM7 . You have to sell it. I've been having to read for a couple months now, how great Project Cars 2 is going to be, and that you are not even picking up Forza 7 for so and so reasons.

You are not allowed to own this game. Now you are saying "well it does have 700 cars and might be fun to goof around in", and "forzavista and a few tracks PC2 doesn't have", and "who knows, this new revamped career mode might be fun".

No back tracking for you! I've been reading your comments, and I've been seeing you come around. People can say what they want, but Forza 6 was a damn good game. Any improvement on it, is a bonus. And 700+ cars at launch(with the potentional for 800-900 after DLC), cannot be ignored, especially with the cars on that list. And yes, I'm really looking forward to this new career mode as well.👍

I'm just playing around, sort of. You had it coming a little, with how much you've been bashing on Forza, but it's all in good fun for me.

PS: I'm really going to laugh when PCars 2 comes out, and it's an absolute mess, like that first piece of trash was. That's a joke too....sort of.

I'm probably confusing the race length bit to imply that it means Blueprint too, you make some pretty comprehensive feature lists so I trust your judgment here.

Would like to see some comparison pics game/irl to understand this...
cant give pics as I'm at work but I can confirm the MR2 model was TERRIBLE. that's why it hasn't been in more recent games, I'm sure they want to remodel it first. the R32 skyline really needs redoing too.

Never noticed it on the MR2 SW20 and I used that one quite a bit in FH2, it was my first Forza game after coming from GT6 though so I might have still been in an adapting mood. :)

I do agree on the R32, looks a bit like a plastic toy car, the Bugatti EB110 has the same feel in that aspect. But might have more to do with the paint texture than the polygons (or both).

Edit: Worst for me is the 1970 Chevelle.

Some of the "making a glorious return" models have issues which I doubt will be fixed. For instance, the E60 M5 had a solid steel sunroof because it was used as an art car in FM3 and the correct glass moonroof would have reduced the canvas size.
Another issue that may have been mentioned before is that the '90 Miata has the wrong interior because T10 simply reused the '94 interior and IRL they are different.

These cars will more than likely be remodeled for the Xbox One as the 360 models are not of the same quality, so these issues may be fixed during that process.

What makes you think so when FM6 had several Xbox 360 models with polished textures? The Subaru 22B model has been said to receive a proper overhaul, but nothing indicates they have gone all the way with every old model.

Thank you for the comprehensive reply, I've been so disinterested in this game I didn't realise there was actually that much more to it. It still won't be a day 1 purchase at this rate, although Fujimi Kaido absolutely would make me preorder.

With over 600 different car models I don't think overhauling every car is something they will do or plan to do. That huge number does have some advantages as it requires a lot of work. Plus they already said you can import paint jobs from FM6 and FH3 so that also means that the models are basically the same, give or take some minor changes near unpaintable areas like headlights etc.
If you want better quality car models I think you'll need to wait for the true next gen console (not X1X). So maybe FM8 on the XBox Two in September 2019. ;)

What I really want to see fixed (if the car makes it in from FH3) is the Lancia Delta S4 Group B rally car. That one came with the Blizzard Mountain expansion in FH3 and has the entire interior copied over from the homologated road car...

Yes, the two Lancia models that came with Blizzard Mountain were borderline scam. I hope they will keep them away from FM7 unless they give them the effort they require.

@buickgnx88 can´t see any issues sry and i have never heard of some in forza until today lol
you must have never been to forza central, people pointing out errors for years :P

many of the FM1 and 2 era cars have pretty inaccurate proportions which still exist today. increasing poly count doesn't fix anything if the shape is wrong in the first place

I´m not someone who complains about minor issues. I prefer to have fun with games :)

The Peugeot 207 S2000 would be a neat car to have come back.

Maybe in the race car reveal :)

One thing I'd wish FH3 and FM7 would do is put some of the cars you can win via Forzathon in the showroom to buy later on after the Forzathon to win them is over. I know it may ruin some of the cars rarity and exclusivity but I guess I'm saying this because I don't want to pay millions of credits for cars nowhere near worth that much. Ex. 6 million CR for a 944 Turbo. I guess I'm just too cheap. Lol

Hopefully they let us gift cars again. What if they had a "barter system"?, meaning trades. It would probably be too complicated to do. Maybe the option to trade when the seller puts the car up for auction along with the starting bid and buyout price. Then seller could view the car the buyer offers for trade and except or decline. Just a thought though.

How I feel about Forza 7 right now is that I'm looking forward to it, but I'm starting to itch to see something new to actually get me to the level of excitement. Fortunately, Gamescom is around the corner. And with the car reveals so far being recycled content and now the so-called full track list all being courses we've seen already, that event will be the perfect time to blow people away with whatever isn't known yet. There's only a little over a month until release too so there's not much room left for stalling.

Whatever happens, I hope Turn 10 doesn't fall into the habit of complacency. That's what I feel happened to Gran Turismo last generation and I would hate for Forza to go down that same path.

As much as I'm looking forward to Forza 7, I have agree with some. Not seeing that much brand new content is a little...disappointing to say the least. Although that is not my main concern, I can understand others. REALLY hope T10 has something in store for Gamescom.
