That makes 3 of us. I'm hoping at gamerscom they drop the new to series cars on us, comprising of maybe 40 additions from a few vintage goodies to modern sports cars to 1 or 2 concepts...please T10 give us something new.

Side note, track roster looks a little stale. While I appreciate the 3 older tracks returning and Dubai we could have easily used 2 or 3 more additions.

As much as I enjoy the Forza series, I would actually prefer they didn't go down the Assasins Creed/Call of Duty route and feel the need to release a game every year.

I'm looking forward to the game but I haven't got the same style hype I had for Forza 6.

If anything I'm more looking forward to Project Cars 2 at this point.

Still plan to pick up both though.. Racing Games are all I really play these days so I'm fine with just those.

Maple Valley is breathtaking. I missed it quite a lot, and I can't believe it's the same track! (redone of course)

Before and after.

EDIT: I added 2 pics, since they mirrored the straight. The pits and stands have switched places.

This gives me a boner

I refuse to pass judgement until the last of both lists are revealed myself. However, I will make a couple of predictions. Im betting that next week will not only reveal race cars, but will have new racers thrown into the mix. For tracks, Im going to guess 3 more new ones will be revealed.

Nope, Turn 10 comfirmed their track list and now the car & track lists are seperated. Dammit.

Since I never played any Forza game outside of the XBox One I made a list of which cars revealed so far are new to the XBox One platform. So that means the following cars are all the revealed cars which are either completely new or else weren't in FM5/FM6/FH2/FH3. But there are 2 cars (noted with ***) that were in FH1 and since you can play that on XBox One now with the backwards compatibility program they are technically not new to XBox One. But I'm sure those car models will be improved over what they were in FH1.

This is the new to XBox One list so far (26 cars) :

1950 Alfa Romeo 158
1960 Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato
1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt
1967 Dodge Coronet WO23
1967 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia
1970 Alfa Romeo Montreal
1986 Dodge Shelby Omni GLHS
1988 Mitsubishi Starion ESI-R
1989 Ferrari F40 Competizione (***)
1998 Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion
2000 Honda Prelude Type SH
2002 BMW Z3 M Coupe
2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe
2004 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti
2004 Mercedes-Benz C 32 AMG
2005 Subaru Legacy B4 2.0 GT
2006 Vauxhall Astra VXR
2008 Volkswagen Touareg R50
2009 Audi Q7 V12 TDI
2009 BMW M5 E60
2009 Holden HSV W427
2009 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG (***)
2009 Pontiac G8 GXP
2010 BMW M6 Coupe
2017 Porsche #1 Porsche Team 919 Hybrid
2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS

Cars I left out of the list because they are not new but only have a new racing livery :

1967 Ferrari #24 Ferrari Spa 330 P4
1987 Porsche #17 Porsche Dunlop 962C

And while we're at it, this is the list of Toyota and Lexus cars we'll be missing, thus the non-racing cars that were previously on XBox One (20 cars) :

1969 Toyota 2000GT
1974 Toyota Celica GT
1974 Toyota Corolla SR5
1979 Toyota FJ40
1985 Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT APEX
1989 Toyota MR2 SC
1992 Toyota Celica GT-Four RC ST185
1992 Toyota Supra 2.0 GT Twin Turbo
1994 Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205
1995 Toyota MR2 GT
1998 Toyota Supra RZ
2003 Toyota Celica
2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser
2013 Toyota GT86 (including Rocket Bunny kit from FH3) (*)

1997 Lexus SC300
2009 Lexus IS F
2010 Lexus LFA
2013 Lexus GS350 F Sport
2014 Lexus IS 350 F Sport
2015 Lexus RC F (including Rocket Bunny kit from FH3)

(*) The Toyota GT86 lives on in the 2013 Subaru BRZ though as in Forza it's the exact same car.

Tempted to dust of my 360 to reacquaint myself with those cars in FM4. There are a lot I am happy to see returning, but I would love to see any cars from older Forza titles make a return. Some people have curtain types of cars that they like, so they are not interested in some other cars, but I like all types of cars and will find a way to use nearly anything T10 could think of adding to Forza.

Like a previous poster said, I'm probably most excited in many ways about PC2 because so far there has been very little new to Forza content in FM7. No doubt we will get some new revealed but the wait is agonising tbh.

Yeah purely for a racing experience PCARS 2 is also what I'm by far looking forward to the most, FM7 for me will just be the sidekick to goof around with. PCARS 2 the serious racing rig sim & FM7 the laid-back-in-sofa controller game.

I think the fact some of us are disappointed with what's come out so far is that we've become greedy because, despite its flaws, FM6 was probably the most complete racing game available in years as far as car selection goes, so porting over most of its content to the new game is a no brainer. And while no doubt we can say it's a lazy approach, in reality it's the most logical thing for them to do. We're already getting more choice than any other game out there when it comes to what we want to drive and where we want to drive it, and we're not even done yet.

I think another contributing factor is people not considering cars new to the Motorsport side as being new. As far as I'm concerned cars that debuted in FH3 like the Vulcan will still probably feel new in FM7 as FH has slightly different physics and an entirely different atmosphere than the FM side.

I'm hoping/expecting a good chunk of new race cars, but the lack of completely new road cars isn't bothering me much.

Agreed, FM7 is going to offer the largest selection of cars in a current gen game. I am not dissapointed with the car list so far (apart from Toyotas absence). Though I would not call reusing cars from previous games a lazy approach. ALL game developers carry over assets from one game to the next to save time and money on development. Hell, I recognized sound effects from the original PS1 Crash Bandicoot used in the Uncharted games on PS3.

And we could add the FM4 cars in there as well. Point is T10/PG have built up an amazing library of cars for us to enjoy, and enjoy we should.

And we can almost guarantee the 42 dlc cars that are coming will be all new cars or at least new to the series not necessarily 2018 models . So that's promising

While porting over content is a no brainer, Forza's business model with one new game every year has become outmoded by the time it now takes to develop a sufficient number of assets for new titles. The combination of dynamic environments and 4K most likely took its toll on the team and their ability to finish new content. So they have three reasons (or excuses) to release the game this fall: 4K, Xbox One X and Windows.

Xbox One and 1080p players are only expected to buy into dynamic environments and accept the loss of a fan-favorite manufacturer. In other words, it's pretty clear that this segment wasn't a priority with FM7, otherwise they would have done more to ensure a justifiable package. This would probably require a delay well into 2018, however, so why mess with the clockwork when you don't have to? It's not me being greedy, but rather Microsoft who aims to explore new territory as soon as possible. Hard to blame them, but many returning customers have no reason to explain or excuse themselves for being underwhelmed.

So where are the gameplay videos with some of these cars and tracks they're hyping up? I haven't seen anything new since E3.

Forza 6 had around 470 cars didn't it?

By my math that makes about 250 more cars for FM7 launch.
DLC brings FM6 around 600, still 100 less.

FH3 seems to have had only around 350 at launch, and now exceeds 550 I believe.

But then FH3 has an open world 2x the size of FH2, and people have said it's smaller. (Internet is internet)

So FM7 has extra track layouts, dynamic this or that, an extra track, and, even if you bought alllll the dlc, at least an extra 100 cars.

All while adding HDR and 4k? Not bad T10, not bad at all. :)

Your final sentence was sort my point. I wouldn't necessarily say they have done bad within the short time they have had get it done. It's just that owners of the original Xbox One console and 1080p displays seemingly aren't facing an essential successor to FM6. Not when compared to the jump from FM5 to FM6 at least. Then again, all we can do now is wait and see what the final car list will be like. No reasons to write it off on premature assumptions, but the track list came with no real surprises at all.

Well we can't just halt progress for people who aren't getting the new stuff, can we?

I don't have 4k or HDR, because I haven't had a reason. Now I do.

You're also really underplaying 250 cars. That's a pretty huge amount for 2 years.
The 1 track I can sympathize, but they're adding (no idea how many) layouts and updating (presumably) the rest.
That is a lot of updating.

Plus by everyone's math, there will be around 50 new to the series cars at time of release.

It's pretty much what everyone asked for. (A few more tracks would have been cool)

Like I said, maybe it's time for Turn 10 to consider a new business model for Forza. Release a new game when the time is right instead of at least once every year. The time may be right for a 4K game, but 6-8 more months could have been good in terms of bringing more new content and securing every important manufacturer license. Toyota probably just needed an offer they couldn't resist, but Turn 10 may have been caught off guard by unexpected demands. If so, too bad the deadline is fixed into a grander scheme.

You don't think maybe you're looking to place blame?
If you're right, there should be a Toyota dlc update, in which case, you wouldn't have missed out on anything.
I think the content and 4k for FM7 are pretty adequate. Hopefully the game doesn't feel rushed, but I don't really expect it will.

Place blame for the lost license? I was trying to answer your previous question - in case you didn't notice. Anyway, to me the loss of Toyota ultimately looks like unforeseen circumstances that worked in no one's favor.

Let's say I am right that the Toyota license needed more time to renegotiate, it's not unlikely that we're now past the point of no return. Each game probably follows a predefined lifespan schedule which must adhere to a strict budget. For this reason there may not be opportunities to negotiate further deals once the whole arrangement is settled and put into motion (initial release, monthly car packs, expansions, etc.). I'm speculating here, but we cannot necessarily assume that Toyota DLC will arrive if Turn 10 keeps negotiating the license after FM7 has been released. Besides, Turn 10 has stated that Toyota will not be featured in FM7 and that they are just as disappointed as everyone else. Never say never but it sounds like a done deal for this iteration.

It's a little far-fetched I think.
To think it's T10's fault for rushing FM7 out the door instead of haggling with Toyota for several more months.
As I'm guessing you're a pretty big Toyota fan, and that's fine, but from a grand perspective, Toyota simply doesn't have the impact/ influence in a game that already has 720 cars.

I would be sore as hell if they removed Pontiac, but it wouldn't make the game notably less. For most people, it's older Toyota and newer Lexus's that will be missed, but not as bad as Porsche, we all played games without them for long enough to know we don't need Toyota.

2 years waiting every time is long enough for me to get a new Forza :P
