I'm calling BS on this.

I thought if you didn't upgrade the AI were not supposed to either. Well THEY ALL UPGRADED!! It cost me the championship. I was in 1st going into this race by a point. I knew something was up when I got beat in practice by nearly 9 seconds. That never happens. I was lucky to finish where I did. I was blocking like crazy the last lap and a half.
The most alarming thing about this post is one of your friends Gamertags, ROFL. 🤣

Oh yeah I see that now :). Normally I don't look down past the first two or three places. That individual isn't on my friends list I guess it just randomly put them in there. DJALKOHOLIK is one of my friends back from my PTG days and BandmanTon50 pops up a bunch and I think I got a notice they are following me which is possibly why they show up so much.

Did anyone else have major problems with the handling of the 991 Porsche 935? Keeping in mind that most of the other widebody Porsches in FM handles excellent I expected this to be glued to the road as well. I was very wrong.

I had a handling build in mind and upgraded the tire width and ran full downforce only to see myself overtaken by my own rear end in the very first corner. The lift off oversteer was absolutely unreal. Tried to correct it with alignment and suspension adjustments, but it didn't really help.

I then tried running max tire width in the back and narrow front tires and that helped, but made the car understeer like a pig.

After a lot of experiments I found that the only thing that made the cars somewhat driveable for me (no assist and on a wheel/simrig) was to have all handling upgrades and run max downforce in the back and minimum in the front. To counter the understeer this caused I added some aggressive alignment, open diff during coasting and soft front springs/dampers.

But still, this car was a workout to drive!😬

In other news, I wonder if we'll get a trailer during the Xbox showcase on sunday, or if T10 will release the update video for the next season on monday as per usual 🤔

The first thing I said after taking this car for a spin around Daytona was " man this cars handling sucks so bad". I had to extensively tune it although I still kept it stock. It's better now but still one of the worse GT cars handling wise. I did think T10 would drop at least a thumbnail yesterday but with a lot going on this coming week with the Xbox showcase and Le Mans it was probably pushed off. Hopefully tomorrow or Monday we get something...

@Milouse I have a problem adding cars on your site on FM23. Normally I just click on the "key" on bottom right of the car image and it adds the car. But for FM23, doing that just takes me to the Category listing (e.g. Modern Racecars), or in the case of the Elemental RP1 it took me to the car listing so i had to scroll to page 5 to find the car to add it.

Which kind of makes the search function useless for me right now for FM23 (it works fine with GT7 where the key is top left)

Please can you look at this. I'm using Samsung Internet to browse.

Thanks a lot 👍

Presumably.

2 videos were added to the official Forza playlist today.

Normally when a video is posted as private but in a playlist, it’s already been scheduled.

My guess is one will be the Update 9 overview and the other will be a track preview (my bet is Sebring).

To be fair, any track feels new and flows better using FM23 physics compared to FM7.

Tracks which are rarely in other sims like Sebring or Road Atlanta may be tracks we’ve raced on for years and years in FM, but especially the fast twisty sections feel completely different in FM23.

The cars setup theme is: loosen the rear, tighten the front. You don't need any upgrade parts to get it to at least behave.
Zero out the suspension geometry settings. I pretty much do this for every car seeing as they're set to make everything understeer.
Less rear ARB, more front ARB. Less rear spring, more front spring. Dampers too. Don't loosen coast diff but add to it to gain off throttle stability.
I forget if the tire pressures were good from the start. Some cars are, some need to be fixed. Sometimes just making sure there's no blue in your tire HUD can make a big difference.

Essentially they just teased us lol
It's a shame we're getting more and more tracks, but it's only reinstating tracks that were already there in previous entries.

We really need more brand new to the series tracks! I'm desperate for them
I agree it would be nice to see some new to FM tracks besides the ones that came on launch. My bet is that they will add tracks that they planned to remaster if you will from previous forzas first then the new tracks will flow. If that files leak list is accurate and that's all the return tracks coming then all that's left is Sebring, Road Atlanta and Sunset Peninsula. I have a slim piece of hope we will get at least 1 new to Forza track before the year is up. But I've been wrong...who knows lol

Agreed. Every track so far feels and looks better then it did in FM7 and Fm7 wasn't a bad looking good. Just the physics and feel was nowhere near what it is in this game.

I’ve been experimenting with some different build philosophies for the C-Class Open Multiplayer Series (And doing some Forza Touring Cars inbetween to grind for cash), so far I’ve tried
  • Handling Integra (Got absolutely obliterated on the straights)
  • Turbo-swapped AE86 (Rear end does get a bit lively at low speeds)
  • Rotary-swapped NA MX5 (Constantly wants to kill me)

I know and I love those tracks. but imagine Imola in Forza? Or something left field like Cadwell park? So good

I only used it in that one rewards race and I don't do any tuning to cars so I can only speak from the bone stock car. I had trouble with it in that last set of corners at Hockenheim. The back end wanted to step out as the car unloaded over that little rise once and then I spun it again there with too much throttle or in too low of a gear. I don't know which one was the cause. I did a couple more practice laps after the required number just to figure out the gearing in and out of corners.

It's a peculiar car and I have a feeling that it's one where you need to tune it a bunch to get the most out of it and I don't want to do any of that. I might try it at different tracks to see where it performs best in stock form and try to use it there.

Yeah, loosen the rear, tighten the front and tighten the coasting setting on the diff, was the first thing I tried. I do that on pretty much every car as well. It didn't help much. The reason it didn't help was probably because I had upgraded the front tire width, which gave it too much turn-in for the amount of rear end grip.

I could ofc have run it stock, but I wanted to upgrade it to R900. Thanks for the advice though😊

In the end, adjusting the aerodynamic balance made it semi-driveable for me with upgraded tire widths.

Btw, I ran it with 2.0 bars tire pressure both in the front and back, if I remember correctly.

I did some digging through some archive sites and one of those videos is the LeMans track overview from when the game was announcing tracks. It was never deleted just gone private. The other 2 are brand new most likely a track overview for Sebring and the update 9overview.

Videos that were once public can be found in online archives and can be watched even if they have gone private but videos uploaded private cannot be accessed without permission from the uploader

I'd love Cadwell Park, but I think it's hard to make a case for it. It would be fantastic for the Ginetta Junior and Miata Cup, but for most cars in the game it would feel like the infield at VIR where it's too narrow to actually race, especially when you can consider the skill/etiquette levels of most of the people playing this game. Unfortunately we are in an age where everyone just can't get enough GT3 racing, and I don't think we will see too many tracks that aren't viable for that sort of racing making their way into the game.

You also have to consider that T10 is very much not a "left field" kind of studio, as it's pretty rare their picks, whether tracks or cars, are very obscure or risky.

After driving the Ginetta Junior so much, I'd love to see more shorter/smaller tracks though. I know everyone would go "Tsukuba!" and I guess it's alright, but I'd rather see Knockhill, Oulton Park, Cadwell Park, Ring Knutstorp all above it... but I just don't see those happening. Maybe Oulton Park as it is at least used for GT3/GT4 and BTCC even though it feels a little cramped for them.

Have they posted 2 videos for updates in the past? Excited to see if this means the update is a big one and track reveal needed its own dedicated video

I just find it strange there hasn’t been a teaser image yet nor a premiere posted on the YouTube. All that should’ve gone up on Friday
You're right. I completely missed the fact that they not put up a teaser yet.

This was their last tweet

I guess this means that they're going to be present during the showcase.

Even if it’s just a little clip like the Mobil 1 thing in the last update, I can see Forza being in the show.

There’s a reason they made one of the seasons 5 weeks though, it was so that the next season would be after today’s show.
