Rumours are the 5080 will be $1500ish. Maybe the 5070 ti will be the better deal
Right now, I recommend the RTX 4070 super if anyone wants to play at 1440p WITH raytracing features enabled (rasterization performance is very good too). But next year it is worth to research and compare price to performance between the RTX 5000 series, the RX 8000 series and even the Arc Battlemage cards.

I may be team green right now, but down the line (2-3 years' time), when the next console cycle is upon us, I will upgrade to what I think is worth my money.

Bathust is in many games, but not many put serious effort into making the sandy hills look good. That one preview shot looks extremely promising, indeed.

I wonder how RTGI is going to effect night time racing? Will the cars still act like color lenses as the light from the players car bounces off of them, or will the reflected color look more natural? From what I understood about the RTGI work around, night time saw little to no difference. I hope this still isn't the case because some of the more dramatic effects should happen at night. For example, the screens at Hakone, should really light the scene up.

As of now, Hakone at night looks like this in my VA, HDR capable monitor (600 nits) with full RT reflections and RTAO.

Forza Motorsport 07_12_2024 11_04_23 a. m..png

An issue right now is how overexposed the cars' reflections can get, especially if they are white or have metallic paints. I've addressed the issue somewhat through Nvidia's filters where I can reduce exposure. My contrast and gamma values are 0 so that's not the issue.

Forza Motorsport 07_12_2024 11_08_46 a. m..png

See here how the Alfa loses all detail. I'll admit that colors are somewhat saturated, again thanks to Nvidia's filters. I've toned them down since.

Forza Motorsport 07_12_2024 11_14_18 a. m..png

This is the RTAO in the cockpit view. Again, the white BMW overexposed, and the Lotus shows bloom. These things I want addressed with RTGI.

I realised something earlier: In one of the background videos around FM23 launch they mentioned that Playground Games had developed RTGI for the Forza engine and that T10 was looking to integrate it.

Thinking further, I suspect that PG are now at a stage with the FH6 game engine that they are getting RTGI in place there, and this is what actually enabled T10 to bring it over to FM23.

Too cynical of me?

They probably designed it first for Fable and now it goes to FM and then to FH6.

RTAO makes the games very unclear and runs likes **** although FPS says that there is nothing wrong. Colours and lightning looks a bit better better overall i dont like it for some reason.

I have the best experience with TA all at max unlocked fps vsync with Car ray Tracing only @4k. Stable FPS and sharp graphics. 120fps (max OLED tv)

7800X3D and RTX4080

Ow and the frame gen crap is just..... Crap allot of ghosting. I dont like it. Just native for me.

It would be nice if the menu sharpness (for instance the wheels when modding the car etc) and better paint colours from Horizon 5 comes to Motorsport. Then the game would be very good graphics whise. Its good now but not consistance. Sometimes i like it ALLOT and sometimes i think mhe....

What i mist most of GT7 where i come from is the wheels and colours from the paint etc mutch more details.

For me personally as a race game with controller this is for me the best game i like the gameplay and feel allot. Feels awesome in third person. Something i always missed in GT series. I know the die hard racers now cry because me racing in 3rd person but for me that is very important in a game especially with controller i like cars and i want to see them.

Bonnet view different story there is GT king. So sometimes i want to race a bid more serious i bood GT7 on the PS5 and drive there over the ring in bonnet view. So in a perfect world these 2 games had a baby..... Called... ForzaGT ;)

It's a very, very small complaint, but I'm a bit bummed they've gone with the fantasy sponsors on the track surroundings at Bathurst. As an Australian it was always neat to see Australian brands that were actually on the signage for the Bathurst 1000 when the track was scanned in game, made it feel more authentic.

Is it out or are you going off promo images?

Dude we only saw a pic of about 1/100th of the track lol. It's to be seen if there's sponsors all around the track or not come....
Fingers crossed Bathurst drops this week.
....tomorrow. why wouldn't it be released this week when it's been announced many times...?

Haven't played the game in so long I can't remember when I last played it. 6 months, probably longer? That's how frustrated I was with it.

But, I decided to see what has changed since I last played. Jumped in to my career last night. I hadn't really gotten that far anyway.

It was great racing and I couldn't wait to get back to it today. Maybe I just got lucky with a great few hours of racing. All I know is that it felt way more 'mature' than it initially did. Don't know how many updates I missed but I really am trending positive right now .

For all the people who have demanded Turn 10 do better, thank you. I feel like they have

Yeah, most likely we'll get the announcement tomorrow, they've usually come out on Mondays in the past. Hopefully a few more cars this time, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah the cars is my concern and what I'm also anticipating most. I'm sure we will get some new to FM ones but will they be enough Bathurst worthy race cars....We will see

Bathurst Returns for Australia Month in Forza Motorsport

9 December 2024- Turn 10 Studios
Celebrate Australian automotive culture with Bathurst, iconic cars from the land down under, and car upgrading in Featured Multiplayer.
Car passion is deeply rooted in Australia. Celebrate its racing heritage over the next four weeks with Australia Month in Forza Motorsport.
Over in Career, the Australia Tour is where you will experience the storied legacy of Australian motoring culture: from the iconic Mount Panorama Circuit, where the legendary Bathurst 1000 endurance race unfolds amidst breathtaking scenery, to the Australian-made sport utes that seamlessly blend speed and utility.
small_Forza_Motorsport_HOL_10_Commodore_VF_13_HOL_HSVGTS_11_Bathurst_Extra_01_16x9_WM_ceab54499c.jpg

Compete in high-performance V8-powered supercars in the Forza AUS Series in Featured Multiplayer, featuring Bathurst exclusively for the duration of Australia Month. Rolling Starts expand to additional Spec Series, while the Nordschleife and Nürburgring – Full Circuit have been added to select Open Series events.
Update 15 also introduces the ability to upgrade cars in Featured Multiplayer Open Events, faster transitions in Spectate and Replay, changes to Safety Ratings, and Ray-Traced Global Illumination (RTGI) for players on high-end PCs.

Game Improvements and Release Notes

Forza Motorsport Update 15 rolls out for download starting Monday, December 9 on Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam. Spotlight cars and new in-game events will begin on Wednesday, December 11 starting at 4:00 PM PT (12:00 AM UTC on Thursday, December 12).
small_Forza_Motorsport_HOL_Commodore_VN_91_Bathurst_Spotlight_Car_Featured_Tour_01_16x9_WM_6e08b45915.jpg

Below is a snapshot of the fixes and improvements included with Update 15. Head on over to Forza Support to view the full release notes:
  • Transitional black loading screens when switching camera types and cars on focus in both Spectate and Replay have been replaced by quick fades wherever possible, closer to the blink of an eye. Loading screens will only appear when changing streaming zones, such as jumping from one end of a long track to another. For PC players, this experience may vary based on system specs.
  • We have adjusted the impact of recent races on your Safety Rating to reduce severe rating fluctuations and to more accurately reflect your overall race history.
  • We have also increased the number of races used to calculate your Safety Rating. Previously, we increased the number of races from 10 to 20 and saw positive results. In this update, this number is further increasing from 20 to 50.
  • Updated Forza GT Division cars in Showroom to reflect their Divisions in Featured Multiplayer (Forza GT2, Forza GT3, Forza GT4, Forza AUS, and Forza T/A).
  • Fixed an issue where AI drivers were unaffected by a wet track during events with variable weather conditions.
  • Updated Drivatar AI to reduce erratic/unrealistic braking behaviors around players.
Update 15 introduces a new model for Forza Race Regulations (FRR). This version brings a slight reduction to false positive penalty assignments, takes tire wear into account when computing time gained for off-track penalties, and fixes an issue where the player could be disqualified by going off track prior to crossing the Start/Finish line.
small_Forza_Motorsport_BMW_M3_E30_91_Nurburgring_Spec_Series_01_16x9_WM_74ea8eeb3f.jpg

Today’s update also includes enhanced car audio for the following vehicles:
  • 1991 BMW M3
  • 1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta
  • 2013 Ferrari La Ferrari
  • 2015 Ferrari F12 TDF
  • 2017 Ferrari 812 Superfast
  • 2015 McLaren P1 GTR
For additional information on how we’re updating the car sounds of Forza Motorsport, check out this blog, adapted from a presentation and AMA (“ask me anything”) hosted in the Forza Official Discord with the Turn 10 audio team.

Ray-Traced Global Illumination (RTGI) on PC

A new graphics option for our PC players has been added to Forza Motorsport's ray tracing settings to enable Ray Traced Global Illumination in the game, or RTGI for short. Players with high-end PCs can enable this new option to improve overall visual quality.
RTGI uses ray tracing hardware to compute more accurate indirect lighting and occlusion across the track and car in real time. This results in enhanced visual fidelity and realism in the game.

RTGI is a new setting that must be enabled and is not on by default. Turn on RTGI and scale its rendering quality in the Forza Motorsport Graphics menu using the following toggles:
  • Set Raytracing Quality to "Full Reflections + RTGI"
  • Set RTGI Quality to "High"
When enabled, RTGI will apply to all gameplay and cinematics, as well as your Homespace and Photo Mode. If you require assistance with using RTGI on your PC, please see this Support article.

Car Upgrades in Featured Multiplayer

Custom Upgrade and Quick Upgrade functionality are now accessible from within Featured Multiplayer events for Series that allow it, including all Open Class Series, Cycled Class Series, and the Multi-Class Series.

Captured on PC with RTGI
This makes it easier than ever to tweak your current build without needing to leave the event or experiment with a new setup before the race starts. Additionally, this improves visibility for any PI Limits that may be in place for the current event.

Race on Mount Panorama Circuit

Bathurst is renowned for its competitive racing scene in the land down under. The 3.8-mile (6.2km) circuit sees drivers battle it out across Mount Panorama in New South Wales, Australia. Made up entirely of public roads, Bathurst is essentially a street circuit with a 570-foot (174-meter) elevation change, off-camber corners, and narrow racing surface.
small_Forza_Motorsport_Bathurst_01_16x9_WM_9cc775459f.jpg

With spectacular views ahead of each technical twist and turn, Bathurst has hosted V8 Supercars for over 80 years – with the exhilarating Conrod Straight allowing them to reach speeds of almost 200mph! As one of the most demanding yet rewarding racetracks in the entire world, the Mount Panorama Circuit is both feared and respected, especially by the drivers who have raced there.
Master this world-famous track while behind the wheel of beloved Aussie cars in the Australian Tour, Forza AUS Series, and Featured Rivals.

Andy Priaulx and Mattias Ekström drove the #10 to an astounding ninth place in the 2013 Bathurst 1000 race. The fact that the car – and its drivers – surprised everyone with their performance added to the spectacle of what is one of the world’s most difficult endurance races.

Forza Motorsport Update 15 Release Notes – December 9, 2024

Car passion is deeply rooted in Australia. Celebrate its racing heritage over the next four weeks with Australia Month in Forza Motorsport.
Over in Career, the Australia Tour is where you will experience the storied legacy of Australian motoring culture: from the iconic Mount Panorama Circuit, where the legendary Bathurst 1000 endurance race unfolds amidst breathtaking scenery, to the Australian-made sport utes that seamlessly blend speed and utility.

New Game Features

Ray-Traced Global Illumination on PC (RTGI)
  • A new graphics option for our PC players has been added to Forza Motorsport's ray tracing settings to enable Ray Traced Global Illumination in game (RTGI for short).
  • RTGI uses ray tracing hardware to compute more accurate indirect lighting and occlusion across the track and car in real time. This results in enhanced visual fidelity and realism in the game.
  • RTGI can be enabled in the Forza Motorsport Graphics menu using the following toggles:
    • Set Raytracing Quality to "Full Reflections + RTGI"
    • Set RTGI Quality to "High"
  • When enabled, RTGI will apply to all gameplay and cinematics, as well as your Homespace and Photo Mode.
  • RTGI is a new setting that must be enabled and is not on by default. If you require assistance with turning on RTGI on your PC, please see this article.
Upgrades in Featured Multiplayer
  • Custom Upgrade and Quick Upgrade functionality are now accessible from within Featured Multiplayer events for Series that allow it, including all Open Class Series, Cycled Class Series, and the Multi-Class Series.
  • This makes it easier than ever to tweak your current build without needing to leave the event or experiment with a new setup before the race starts. Additionally, this improves visibility for any PI Limits that may be in place for the current event.
Faster Transitions in Spectate & Replay
  • Transitional black loading screens when switching camera types and cars on focus in both Spectate and Replay have been replaced by quick fades wherever possible, closer to the blink of an eye. [1874035]
  • Loading screens will only appear when changing streaming zones, such as jumping from one end of a long track to another. For PC players, this experience may vary based on system specs.
Safety Rating Updates
  • We have adjusted the impact of recent races on your Safety Rating to reduce severe rating fluctuations and to more accurately reflect your overall race history.
  • We have also increased the number of races used to calculate your rating. Previously, we increased the number of races from 10 to 20 and saw positive results. In this update, this number is further increasing from 20 to 50.

We have set up this thread on the Suggestions Hub where you can upvote the idea and share your thoughts and experiences with us. Thank you for your understanding as we worked through this one!

I'm not going to lie im disappointed in the overall cars coming in this update. I guess T10 continues to struggle with getting licenses for newer cars and race cars in general because I'll be damned this new generation of V8 supercars of the Mustang and Camaro not coming is a huge missed opportunity for this Bathurst update. Then no returns for at least the Volvo and E63 versions from the last few games is another let down along with none of the racing versions of the early 90s Grp.A cars..damn that hurts quite a bit. Good to see a couple of the classic Aussie cars though I guess...good to also see GT division finally getting broken up the right way although how it was worded in the blog seems like it's multiplayer only which it should be across the board like it's been asked for multiple times.

Agreed, this was the absolutely perfect moment to give us newer V8 Supercars. I guess they are not coming...
