Custom Upgrade and Quick Upgrade functionality are now accessible from within Featured Multiplayer events for Series that allow it, including all Open Class Series, Cycled Class Series, and the Multi-Class Series.
Weakest update yet, makes me scaried for the new year since they had not put a single new car, only 2 cars and they are return cars

to make things worst, instead of make series with fixed setup they decide to cave to "try hards" and doubles down on open setup instead of make series for people that dont want expending a hour trying to config a setup just to be destroyed by someone that got a meta setup from a friend by 10 seconds each lap

With how they are releasing cars including with this update and struggling with adding race cars I don't even know anymore. My wishlist and my brain would say BMW M V8 Hybrid GTP, an M4 GT4, the G90 M5, the electric one from FH5 the i4 think its called, and a couple of pre-2000s Bmws. But something tells me probably none of these and maybe like 1 new BMW.

here is that upgrade graphic

i guess people are not knowing that iracing got them first before everyone else, likely is related to it

Seems like the theme in this era of racing games is the true sims get first dibs or all out rights to certain cars while games like GT7 and FM have to wait an extended period of time or not at all...or fork up a lot of money for a particular car. Really sucks to see iRacing getting the new gens and we don't get them in FM.

I wonder how useful that core optimisation thing is on PC. FM23 had unexpectedly large single core limitations didn't it? Will it now be easier on lesser CPUs?

Well Ray Traced Global Illimination looks nice sort off but same as RTAO something looks off. Also ghosting..... and biggest ''problem'' 120 fps full car field to 55fps single car on track and with DLS allot more ghosting.....

So...... back to ray traced cars only with TAA. My 4080 Super is allready to slow these days haha

I thought I would check out how Bathurst looks, but then the update got stuck and I had to re-download all 143 GB again 🙄

I'm feeling underwhelmed, almost disappointed by the "new" cars. It's nice to have Bathurst back though. I love the technical section up on the mountain.

Also, I wonder when we'll get a blog post with the roadmap for early 2025. I'm very curious which tracks that'll be added next 🤔

143 GB? I would dump the high-res textures package.

Now for some bad news... The infinite loading screen bug is still there, and it can strike when you are upgrading your car on track, as in a free play race.
As for the RTGI? It has some good things, but let's just say it like it is, the game is never, NEVER, going to look like the post-processed trailers, and it probably has reached its visual peak, which at the moment is rather good, RTGI or not.

Photo bug still lives!

On freeplay/private multiplayer.
Some cars has their own category now: Lamborghini race cars are in Super Trofeo
Ginetta Junior has is own spec
GT2 cars are GTE cars
Forza Aus are supercar V8
Trans am cars are in Forza T/A
And so on
However Daytona Prototype still doesnt have their own category
Same the for R33 Pennzoil who dont have a JGTC category.
Outside of that its a massive QoL.
Thank you Turn10

Looks like someone forgot to remove the 'Gen3' branding on the image for the new featured tour, wonder if that was a genuine mistake in the first place or if Gen3 cars were pulled at the last minute

Im just going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was a mistake

We also recognize that many of you would like the opportunity to revisit previous Featured Tours and unlock their associated reward cars. Later this year, we will add select series and rewards from previous updates as permanent additions to the Builders Cup. Next year we'll be introducing a number of permanent race car-focused Tours to the Career. These changes will give you the chance to check out series you might not have played before, while providing new players with an expanded selection of Career themes and events.
The 2024 ship has sailed for that promise.

This is good progress but I'm still staggered that this wasn't like this from the very start. It belies all logic.

I'll have to wait until I knock off work this afternoon to download the update but looking forward to hot lapping Bathurst. Disappointed that there is only one new car when PG pump out 4 new cars a month (not every month but more often then not). I can understand why Gen 3 isn't present if they've already signed a exclusive licence with iRacing. But there are other cars from here they could've included to celebrate Australian motorsport culture. The Monaro that won two Bathurst 24hrs. What about a Formula Holden open wheeler? V8 Brutes (the Holden v Ford ones not the latest trucks). How about older V8 Supercars like the VS Commodore and EL Falcon if Gen3 can't make it due to licencing? I feel this is hugely missed opportunity on T10's part.

One thing that I did enjoy was seeing Robbo's front yard at Bathurst on Conrod recreated with the bar. I've had some good times watching racing from there.

I'm not going to lie im disappointed in the overall cars coming in this update. I guess T10 continues to struggle with getting licenses for newer cars and race cars in general because I'll be damned this new generation of V8 supercars of the Mustang and Camaro not coming is a huge missed opportunity for this Bathurst update. Then no returns for at least the Volvo and E63 versions from the last few games is another let down along with none of the racing versions of the early 90s Grp.A cars..damn that hurts quite a bit. Good to see a couple of the classic Aussie cars though I guess...good to also see GT division finally getting broken up the right way although how it was worded in the blog seems like it's multiplayer only which it should be across the board like it's been asked for multiple times.
Mustangs and Camaros aren't very Australian though are they? They were always going to put Falcons and Commodores in for this update. I'm actually quite thankful they did because I'm really sick of American cars.
