Ok guys here's my theory: First of all they talked about May which its 20th Anniversary of Forza Motorsport.
They mentionned a fan favorite track.
My bet its gonna be Fujimi Kaido because the track was on FM1.
Or they gonna put Rio street circuit (which was also in FM1 but the layout was different compared to FM6-FM7).
Fujimi Kaido is very plausible, considering Turn Ten hasn't ignored the fans' demand for it, despite it being ranked as the second-most voted track in the suggestions category.

Fujimi Kaido + return of Super GT if possible, would be the perfect way to pay homage to 20 years of Forza. (JGTC/Super GT cars were also in FM1, so maybe modern versions ca. 2016-present could be added.)

I feel like Fujimi is very unlikely. T10 seems to be hyper focused on racing (we don't even have drift lobbies, despite drifting being added).
I would personally prefer the full Camino Viejo + Iberian Intl. Circuit + Ladera test track combo with all their variants. They would fit the focus on racing, while adding a boatload of track variety.

But that's being too hopeful. It's probably (just) Monza or CoTA.

The wording for later half of the year makes me think that the plan is either to abandon the game (unlikely) or for a spec 2.0 type update, with some major features and overhauls of current systems. The "plan" will most likely be showcased at the XBOX Games show in June.

They specifically mention that Feb (daily racers), March (velocity) and April (porsche) are content focused which probably means just cars. And May will likely be a 6 week update, because of the addition of the track, and to line up a trailer/announcement at the Xbox games show.

Fairly disappointing, and hardly feels like a big 20th anniversary celebration.

The game has been steadily improving but it still sorta feels like it hasn't truly "arrived" yet. We are still missing a bunch of features and content from previous titles, several areas still aren't really in an acceptable state, and several things still just don't work right. As a result it feels like the community hasn't really built up properly either, both in terms of trust/faith in the game and commitment to it, and in terms of public lobby player counts and people in various communities... and this probably isn't going to help.

Look around at a lot of communities, and you will see a ton of "ah well we can hope for it in the next update" type posts from people who want to see the game succeed and live up to its potential. For the first year it has been "maybe next month" but will people keep holding on if things slow down so it becomes "maybe 6 months from now"?

Maybe it's a little bit of a gloomy outlook as we don't know why all this is happening... but I don't think it's unreasonable given the vague content and tone of the post. Maybe it is a regroup/refocus/restructure and the 2nd half of 2025 is going to blow us away... but given their track record, is that really what we should expect?

I do think they could have spun this better. Surely the content for these next 4 updates is locked in, so they could have built a little hype by showing a teaser picture from each of the upcoming monthly car sets and shared a little info about the track creation process and all the detail that goes into some of it or something that would have triggered some optimistic speculation instead of the (understandably I think) negative speculation it has drawn from the community so far. I know PJ has explained licensing means it's not as easy as "just post a pic" and they would need permission and so on but like, come on sometimes you gotta put a little extra effort in so it seems like you actually care about what you are working on if you expect other people to care about what you are working on.

As it is, all we really have to speculate about in an optimistic way is which Porsches we will get. Can't even really speculate about the track much as it was so vague, but the "YOO FUJOMY KAYDOOOOOO IZ BAKKKKK" hype train has kinda left the station already of course... Which will inevitably trigger a big storm of disappointment when it (hopefully) isn't the "fan favorite" track we get.

People who want Fujimi Kaido back are completely oblivious to the fact that 1. Forza Horizon exists and 2. That track was completely useless for anything other than Touge lobbies
And tbh when it came to Initial D Touge lobbies, the road to the top of Red Rock in FH1 did it better
The best racing I did at Kaido was soapbox racing.

You hold the clutch in, disable the throttle and coast all the way down.

F class cars could compete with X class cars in that.

I honestly think a little variety to the hardcore racetracks would be nice, and it's something we desperately need in the game. I kind of don't like when people say "just go to Horizon" about Fujimi, when FM4's focus was still quite great despite the inclusion of a couple of these types of tracks. I don't think it's purely nostalgia if people have been asking for it back for so long. To say Fujimi is "useless for anything other than touge lobbies" is a little disingenuous I feel.

That being said though, when has T10 ever cared about historic dates like that? The cynical part in me is saying they won't do anything special for the anniversary and it'll just be Monza or something. Monza's fine, don't get me wrong, but when they say "fan-favorite track" it makes my thoughts go to Fujimi (which fans have asked to have back for 11 years now!) or Camino and all its accompanying nearby circuits.

If it's "new content" going forward, are we to assume all the cars will, in fact, be "built from the ground up"? Like literally brand spankin' new? If that's the case, then great! As we saw with the BMW update, some were new, but others were not. I didn't even realize until I checked the showroom that the 1995 BMW M5 wasn't in the game, shame.

I'm more curious about the career, are they now not gonna do it? Chris Esaki literally stated in his interviews they programmed this game to make adding in stuff easy. I'm not sure what the hold-up is in expanding the career. Nobody likes the FOMO stuff. Will they come up with something else? Like for Porsche, they could do like they did in FM6's expansion, which I thought was great.

As for the track, I don't see why they don't add additional layouts to already existing tracks like Le Mans or even the supposed Hakone Mountain Pass. If it's Fujimi, I'd take it would be like Sunset, a remake of the original so that it flows better.

What to expect from Forza Motorsport updates in the first half of 2025.

To the Motorsport Community,

We love seeing your reaction and excitement to the updates we have been releasing. Between the return of fan favorite tracks such as Sunset Peninsula and Bathurst to features like Spectate, Drift Mode, and Challenge Hub – alongside the debut of Next Gen NASCAR and most recently, new-to-Motorsport BMW cars – there has never been a better time to jump into Forza Motorsport.

We recently finalized our plan for the updates we will be making available to you in the first half of 2025. This includes a content update in May that will include a fan favorite track. Leading up to that, we will continue adding new-to-Motorsport cars and events into the game, themed around Daily Racers, Velocity, and Porsche Motorsport Icons. We will showcase these updates in more detail as part of our blogs alongside their release.

As we’ve been working through all this new content, we’ve also been continuing to look towards future updates. This means that our work on some of the features we previously announced for early 2025 may be re-evaluated as we complete our new plans. Until then over the next three months our updates will be new content only. That was a very difficult decision, however we are excited to continue to bring new content and experiences to you.

While we are working through our plans for the second half of the year, we hope you have fun playing the updates we’re working on for the next few months, and we look forward to seeing you on the track in Featured Multiplayer.

Firstly, starting with the positive - making a honest statement like this to break the recent "silence " is welcome. And I note the 3 head men have all signed this, which also feels like "taking responsibility" knowing the resulting flack coming their way - "we're the ones in charge, blame us, its our decision" - that takes leadership and some guts in my view.

Also, re-evaluating new plans means nothing is set in stone yet, so there is still hope that something happens to cause a positive result in these internal discussions.

Unfortunately, my reading of this is negative in all other respects.

1. The track coming in May is probably already in progress, so they've decided to complete it for May release (it's a sunk cost). There's a possibility that this will be the last new track added. The best case scenario for this year, in my mind, is another track towards end of 2025.
2. The Tours will be planned months in advance, so again a lot of what is coming in those 3 Tours has already been licensed and paid for (I.e. its another sunk cost).
3. Anything not already completed from the previous roadmap is, I think, to be regarded as "gone" unless we hear otherwise. That includes the career rework/additions and sadly the Creative Hub. My instinct (nothing concrete just a guess) is that what is already in progress and can be easily completed, will come in May, but I think it's sensible to keep expectations for this very very low.

I'm just guessing here, but the recent silence has been noticed in private areas as well as public ones. Which may be relevant to my guess below:

There's almost nothing to go on here, but I'm wondering whether what has happened is:

1. There was a final concerted effort Q4 2024 to get player numbers up.
2. That hasn't worked
3. A lot of the staff that were still working on FM23 have been reassigned elsewhere , maybe FH6?, (or were included in this month's widely reported Microsoft layoffs?)
4. Skeleton crew is left remaining on FM23 to gradually work on completing the stuff already in progress.

Personally, I don't believe the delays in roadmap items are due to technical issues, I just think there's fewer people left working on the game to complete them.

In this case, "New content" means the 3 Featured Tours, whatever tweaks happen to multiplayer races/schedules and nothing else. The cars in those tours will probably continue to be a mix of returns, new to Motorsport, and maybe some new to Forza.

Anything outstanding from the previous roadmap is either gone or under active discussion internally whether it comes or not. You have to work on the basis, based on the statement, that nothing else is coming now unless they say it is coming in a future statement. It's a "clean slate" going forward.

Of course, assuming there's an Insiders test going on, some people already know what is in Daily Rivals next month. But even they won't know anything beyond that.

My final thoughts, we are not going to hear anything else until May, except for blogs in relation to the 3 Featured Tours. So I'm going to confine myself to comments on those 3 Tours going forward (until the next message from T10).

I'm trying REALLY hard to stay positive and looking at this as a "glass half full" type of situation. There's been an uproar in the community since this "roadmap" was released and people, myself included, feel disappointed, confused and a bit worried.

I think the rumours about the game's impending death is greatly exaggerated though. I think Xbox still wants their track racing answer to Gran Turismo on Gamepass, so the game will most likely stay alive for the forseeable future.

I have decent hope that we'll get some good new (or "new") cars during spring, but seeing the addition rate of added tracks slow down, when there's still so many missing from earlier games, is VERY disappointing.

I want to believe so badly that the extra development time for the track in May means something big is coming. Like many others, as soon as I heard "fan favourite track" my thoughts went to Fujimi Kaido. It's been the most requested lore-track for years now.

As for the people saying that we who wants it back is oblivious to the fact that Horizon has mountains roads: I see your point. But have you felt the difference in physics between these two games on a wheel setup? It's very noticable and just can't be compared. It's like comparing Escape from Tarkov with Call of Duty.

People have been saying the same thing about the Nordschleife as with Fujimi Kaido. It's too narrow and not suitable for good racing in modern cars. And yet the NS is adored by a big part of the community and serves a usefull purpose in FM.

What alternatives to Fujimi Kaido in FM is there for someone who wants elevation change, technical, twisty and tight roads with realistic physics? Assetto Corsa with mods on PC, sure. But the vanilla AC game on console is very dated at this point.

What I'm saying is that Fujimi Kaido would scratch a very certain itch for people who wants point-to-point racing, hill climbing, good drift roads and togue racing with simulation-esque handling.

Anyway, that's my take. We'll see what happens in the coming months 😊

Upside, while the track update cadence has reduced, the amount of cars in each update has increased dramatically, I wonder if that's why they have decided to postpone some of the major feature work while they pump out 10 cars every update. Not against this, they were clearly in reactive mode last year trying to catch up, but can settle down and plan these next features properly.

Also, given Porsche month is coming up, guessing that means we get a new GT3 car, and maybe a GT4 Cayman, one can hope.

This is not an unreasonable assumption. I’ve seen similar signs elsewhere in the industry.
