So here is my educated guess. Since TORA made an announcement, I won’t be surprised if the big update this month is Spectate Mode. I could see a lot of possible issues with that addition hence the delay.

Couple of things I unpacked with this post from T10, no mention of a track which I'm not going to jump to conclusions until the overview video comes out but so far to me seems like another month skipped on a track, shocked if true. Then it mentions "new car" not plural which could mean more slow drip of new cars to the game but still curious what this car could be either way(hopefully another LMDh). And then with this update being divided in two I think they ran into a technical issue or have so much crammed in this update it would cause issues downloading, so we will see how this turns out. At least there's some fixes though and updates to a couple of tracks.
It states new car and event content, it probably means multiple new cars. I'm thinking at least 2 if they continue with offering one per career featured tour.

My guess is one new to FM car for the FOMO builders cup tour and a returning car from FM7 for the open class series.

From the forza forum post

They are licensed (aero) parts for existing parts. Not new forza aero. My guess is that these will be the parts from FH5 that aren't in FM yet.

23 hours to wait for the video. Which presumably means the video and the update will be arriving together, since once the video shows it'll only be a few hours before the new season starts...

I just got a notification from the Game Pass iOS app about Update 10. Apparently the theme is Manufacturer Rivalries. Couldn’t find anything else about it in the app or on the website though yet…

Seems like a slightly premature notification 😅
I also received the Update 10 Notification on the GAMEPASS APP

When the game released nearly a year ago I mentioned it that they should eventually pile on some rivalry events and here we are. Glad they decided to make it happen, I do hope there's plenty of events though. Right off the top of my head I can come up with nearly 2 dozen different rivalries both within historic motorsport and just regular sports/exotic car match ups.

No track this month does burn considering we are approaching a year into this game and theres still about a dozen tracks from FM6/7 that still has not made it into this game, not to mention the many highly requested new to FM tracks. But oh well life goes on so I guess we can expect a track every other month. Looking forward to this update otherwise, hope the cars and fixes deliver at least.

So let me get this straight:

Update 10, Volume One: New cars and events, fixes to Catalunya and Hockenheimring and rear wings for 18 cars, and volume two would be remaining bug fixes and no other content?

I know there won't be a new track though.

But like I've said time and time before, Turn Ten seriously need to make all tour reward cars available to buy and/or rent in Free Play. Then making all tours ever released, including future ones, permanent in the core Builders Cup experience.

I thought expecting 2 tracks in a row was pretty optimistic. Safer to assume we get nothing until they specifically state otherwise.

I figure there are 6.5 tracks left from FM7 that are worth bringing over:

Bathurst
Sonoma
Road Atlanta
Monza
Long Beach
COTA
Le Mans Bugatti (only half credit here since part of it is already done and in the game)

(in order I want them, for fun)

...So basically a year worth of recycled tracks, at the current rate. Don't get me wrong, I want all of them back and I'd even consider the top 5 as favorites that I'm very much looking forward to running with the physics/cars in FM8... but it's a little daunting to think that we still have at least another year left until we get back to where we were with FM7, nevermind fresh tracks.

FM is an unfinished remaster at this point for me. Not happy with no 'new' track. If you haven't got the staff or MS don't care enough to back the game, at least drop the FOMO events/prize cars so I can come back to the game when there's more tracks.

The FOMO stuff might be the only reason the player count is above zero at this stage. I'm not sure I can be bothered to keep up with the game, though. I have a 2nd PC I can run it all on AFK, but it has still been a huge amount of hassle to do it all this month. I can see AC EVO absolutely destroying FM when it releases. If I knew with 100% certainty AC EVO will have what I want, I'd definitely stop bothering with FM, but I might stop anyway. Keeping up with FH5 isn't too bad, as it's under 30 mins per week, and a fair bit of that is the Trial, which is often reasonably fun if your teammates drive clean. There's also a lot less clicking through menus in FH5 vs FM to get the weekly chores done.

I'm going to keep playing this game (for now), probably a little less at times from the lack of content to keep me engaged. I just want them to knock it out the park with these updates that lack content such as months with no track and the fact that they seem to be sticking with dropping only 6 ish cars a month with 1-2 being new to FM. If they don't want to add tracks each month and slowly drip cars over the remainder of this game then I think they should drop a dozen or so events at a time and make them permanent. That can't be too much to ask for.

Knowing Kunos and the experiences of AC v1, AC Evo will launch on the PC as Early Access first, and gradually fill with content. The console version will then appear a few months after the PC version officially launches.

Edit: This is the current known car and track list. Still a long way to go for a game due to launch in 2024, but the first impression is more road cars than track cars...

And of course Kunos doesn't give free DLC after launch, so you should expect at least 8-10 paid DLC packs during the life of the game, as we got with AC and ACC.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, since I own all DLC for both AC and ACC having bought them both as soon as they were available (early access). But it's a very different experience from Forza in that the base game is likely to be quite light on content and will then get filled out over time.

Edit: My personal wish for AC Evo is that it gets the same level of controller customisation as ACC did, but with a bit more smoothing. That should get controller driving on the console version of the game not too far off Forza.

However I am sure AC Evo won't get as good controller support as Forza Motorsport 23, which is completely class leading for me (sadly the only thing which is really class leading in the game, although I guess graphically it does look better than any other track racer on the PC or Xbox - at least in HDR on a good HDR screen).

Forza Motorsport Update 10.0 Release Notes – July 10, 2024

From: https://support.forzamotorsport.net...rsport-Update-10-0-Release-Notes-July-10-2024

Forza Motorsport Update 10 will be released in two phases. The first download includes the car and event content, as well as minor improvements to Catalunya and Hockenheim, an additional wing option for 18 cars, and Replay UI changes. This will be followed by a second download – release timing to be confirmed as soon as details are available – that includes the remaining features and fixes for Update 10, most notably the Car Proximity Radar, and for PC players, an option to disable TAA and an updated VRAM estimator.

Forza Motorsport Update 10, Nemesis Month, invites you to experience some of the most infamous automotive rivalries on the racetrack. This update introduces the Nemesis Tour alongside new events in Multiplayer and Rivals that showcase intense racing battles.

A new Proximity Radar helps identify cars in your blind spots, making it easier to avoid unintentional collisions and keep the racing clean, especially when using cockpit, hood, or bumper cameras. Enable and adjust options for this feature in Settings under Gameplay & HUD. We would love to hear your feedback about this highly requested feature on the Suggestions Hub to help inform future iterations.

In this update, Replay includes a new vertical driver list to more easily select the car on focus, a new track map, and HUD visibility options. A major Replay update will soon follow, adding dynamically updated race positions and data to the driver list, as well as a lap counter and new camera types.

Over in Featured Multiplayer, the Forza GT Series has been split into GT2 and GT3 categories to make the racing even more fun, balanced and authentic to real-world motorsport. Forza GT2 and Forza GT3 Spec Series will rotate each week during Nemesis Month, and we will introduce a separate Forza GT4 Spec Series in the next update.

Finally, the Big Country Labs aero wing has been added as a customization option for 18 cars in the game – the full list is available below under the Car Customization header.

Game Content, Features and Events [All Platforms]

Experience Improvements

  • Car Proximity Radar is here! A much-requested feature by our players, this new HUD element helps identify when cars are in your blind spots, making it easier to avoid unintentional collisions and keep the racing clean. Car Proximity Radar can be enabled from the settings menu, where you can also choose which HUD location works best for you.
  • Replay Mode: saved race replays now include a new vertical driver list to more easily select the car on focus, a new track map, HUD visibility options, and navigation improvements for mouse and keyboard users.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

PC

Developer’s Note:
We have fixed an issue where shift times could be slightly different based on your PC’s FPS refresh rate. The Forza Motorsport community was extremely helpful in providing data that allowed us to home in on the problem. We had an issue in our code where our shifting state machine was not being updated in our inner-most simulation update code. We moved the shifting state machine to the inner-most (high frequency) part of our update, as well as ensuring that our high-frequency update is running at a consistent frequency across various framerates on PC. We were able to run automated benchmark code to time our cars 60-150MPH at various framerates and framerate ranges – with and without the fix – to validate the problem and the fix.

  • The VRAM Estimator in PC settings has been made much more accurate. Players should review their settings after Update 9 is downloaded to verify that they’re not using too much VRAM. This is particularly true for players with GPUs that have 4-8 GB of VRAM because some settings can push usage over the limit.
  • There is now an option to disable TAA completely on PC. This option is for players who prefer to use their own form of driver-level anti-aliasing. Find the new setting in the Display tab.
  • Fixed a bug allowing players on PCs with poor performance to gain a time advantage over other players [1803862].
  • An option to enable or disable Motion Blur in cockpit view has been added to the PC settings menu. [1723433]
  • Fixed an issue where the player is unable to reboot after changing their game settings using controller or keyboard. [1762936]
Tracks [All Platforms]

This update introduces numerous fixes to two existing tracks: Catalunya and Hockenheim. To accommodate these changes, leaderboards for both tracks and their individual layouts have been reset.

Catalunya

  • Fixed several instances of objects popping into the player’s view across various areas of the track.

Not making a big deal of the proximity radar is a surprise. Good news to see it there!
Edit: Ah, it's for part 2, must be giving them issues I guess.
