I hate to be "that guy" - but surely this has got to be a skill/difficulty/tune issue? I'm almost finished the last Porsche GT3 series and I'm sailing through the races on mediums. Sure the tires are worn but they're far from losing significant amounts of grip.

Are you upgrading any of the parts of the cars? I found I had to modify the Lamborghini ST to give it the edge over the rest of the GT3/GTLM field as it simply didn't have the downforce or braking abiliities of the rest.
I mean, I'm more than willing to admit to skill issues playing a part. I know I'm not the best/fastest/most consistent racer by any stretch. I also previously acknowledged that the difficulty settings that I haven't touched since launch probably worked against me as well.

My 2c for the Huracan roadcar; it's an understeery pig. Start by Lightening it, add aero, and consider a RWD conversion as your first modifications. I found that made it much nicer to drive at least.

All good. I'm not surprised to hear that the Huracan is an understeering nightmare, or that the Super Trofeo lacks downforce, so at least I know what to expect. Appreciate the tips. 👍

Be that as it may, it was homologated, virtually unchanged, as a GT4 racecar. Yes, the MC GT4 had 35hp less than the Trofeo counterpart, but T10 could easily BOP those horses away.
The other main change was the aero, the GT4 ran a lower rear wing and different diffuser, but shouldn't be a big deal really. Even if it was, we have seen T10 can modify downforce values of cars in the Featured Multiplayer lobbies so it couldn't be too hard to fix.

Speaking of GT4, how about the Panoz Avezzano? Much more interesting than the much more common GT4s.

Ian James said the team wanted to continue on in honor of Don Panoz and their goal was to keep Panoz racing somewhere in the world for as long as possible... Since the real-world team was shuttered unfortunately, immortalizing the cars in a video game seems like the next best way to do that. And while they are at it bring us an Esperante GTR-1, Esperante GT-LM and Avezzano road car.

I would love it if we got that Panoz car and other Panoz cars too. That GT4 version has been pretty successful at times and would fit right in along with a few more V8 powered GT4 racers. It's an American brand that does not get featured too much in video games along with Glickenhaus. I would hope it would be easier for T10 to get licensing from those brands compared to ones over seas.

We have had Panoz in Forza in the past so they have some kind of relationship, but obviously with Don gone it could have changed quite a bit since we had them last.

Glickenhaus is an interesting case and I wouldn't expect to see them any time soon. There's a thread here I remember being pretty interesting:

The road to race series was a different (and harder than usual) experience, due to the very fast tire wear. I've found that the AI normally never run on soft racing tires in any career mode races. They always choose mediums, which gives you a bit of an advantage if you're on softs. Add to that the previously mentioned fact that the AI don't suffer from any tire wear at all which made this featured tour one of the hardest thus far IMO.

I found that upgrading my cars to the top of their class and tuning them helped. I also had to start further up the grid than I normally do. On softs it's possible to catch the leader when starting from the back with the AI on level 8. With mediums and 6× tire wear I couldn't start further back than 12-16th position.

On another note, I was glad that they re-introduced night racing and wet weather racing in the first mid-engined series. It makes the career races and bit less monotonous. I had good fun on the Nordschleife in the wide bodied and rwd converted R8.

I think it would be for the best if rally stays in Horizon. Although they have made significant progress from FM7, Turn 10 still don't have circuit racing dialed in yet. Multiple circuits have mesh/surface issues as well as many have questionable kerb physics, 3-wheeling physics for FWD/AWD are worse than FM7 (and waaaay worse than FH5), fuel burn is still very simple and has no multiplier, tire compound restrictions don't exist, the draft is a little inconsistent and they keep breaking bump drafting, timed races still don't work in a way that makes sense, FRR needs a bunch of work, etc etc.

Then on the content side of things, we are still missing lots of tracks, and lots of variants of existing tracks. Assuming they keep with 1 track every 2 months (which might not even be sustainable once they are done "remastering" tracks from older games), imagine how much worse the content drip will feel when we have to split back and forth between rally circuits and road circuits? Same goes with cars, we get like 2-3 cars per month and at that rate they can't even grow their roster of race cars and road cars in any significant way, how are they also going to start growing a rally car roster? No one would be happy, people would complain there aren't enough rally stages or cars to make it an interesting mode, rally guys would be disappointed with how little they do get, and the core circuit racing playerbase would be disappointed with even less circuit racing content than they were getting before.

People criticized the hell out of FM7 for having no focus and not feeling like it knew what it wanted to do, yet we constantly have people asking for rally, drag racing with expanded drag-related upgrades, drifting and even motorcycles...

It also wouldn't do much to fix the game's other issues too, like bad AI, weak career mode with pointless races that feel like they were made with RNG, multiplayer population/matchmaking, etc... Although it would probably only impact multiplayer population for a few weeks. People already avoid public lobbies because they are too rough, imagine how bad they would be for rallycross? Can't imagine people would be sticking around and would just go back to regular races.

To me this is like going into a Burger King and complaining they don't have a pizza on their menu and telling them to start making pizzas. Their kitchen isn't set up for it, staff aren't trained for it, fridges aren't stocked for it, and most of their customers don't go to a burger place for pizzas anyway when they can just go to a Pizza Hut, or Domino's, or Papa John's, or any of the dozen other places that actually make pizzas.

Horizon already does a pretty good job with casual rally and rallycross racing as does V-Rally 4 (although that one's a bit more debatable), DR2.0 is probably like $10 nowadays and has both leaned a bit more "hardcore" for more serious fans, then you have EA WRC and the last few KT WRC games, and on PC a bunch of options like Beam.ng, modded RBR, modded AC, etc. I don't really see how it's a market T10 need to find a way to barely squeak into, and rally certainly hasn't done anything positive for the Gran Turismo series.

Rather than dilute FM8 and half-ass rally into the game, it would be better for them to full-ass it and revive RalliSport Challenge in spirit as Forza RalliSport or something.
See what you're saying, although I've no time for Horizon, maybe whatever they do with it next if they use this engine and wheel support might sway me but i can't see it amongst their nonsense when I'm looking for something more serious. I was thinking more like how PCars2 offered RallyCross along with so many better thought out genres of racing compared to FM. I think FM could use more of Horizon's playerbase though to keep the updates coming, maybe if Burger King had as few customers they'd consider Pizza slices as a side. Although they have at least said they'll be looking at 3x more cars each month, maybe we'll get the tracks faster too, or a track designer, which would be nice for offroad too.

On a next-gen console I'm after newer games that will make it worth paying for rather than play older titles, given the trend for better visuals and realism I'm certainly not the only one. It'd be good to see an up to date console version of what the modders are doing in AC on PC, keeping it alive. RBR or BeamNG maybe a bit too sim for the more casual player. Perhaps WRC will offer RX again, and we can just take photos of FM's rally specific cars here.
