Man Horizons car list is so ****ing good and gets better and better. I'm so jealous that these cars don't make it into this game with it's much superior physics. That E55

I want FH6 and FM to get the same cars at the same time, in sync. Wherever possible, that is. Replace offroaders with race cars or returning cars for FM. I honestly thing almost every road car should make it into FM, including modern suvs.

Of course, this is highly unlikely because FH probably has a bigger budget for licenses (and licensing for each game is different), FH is significantly more popular, and therefore acts as a bigger incentive to be an advertisement.

I don't even think many of the road and race cars will make their way over to FM just because of weird licensing issues between the two. I don't understand how FH5, an open world game, can get first dibs or exclusivity into so many race cars both new and old but FM can get some here n there even being a year in. Maybe as time goes on and licenses expire it's possible but their car list is way better then FM besides the few surprise race cars that we do have.

I’m confused. I just reached the American Road Racing chapter in the current Featured tour, and there’s only three different opponent cars. Why? The game has so many old-school IMSA and SCCA cars, but this event doesn’t utilize them.

I know I mentioned this not too long ago, it's a little crazy that they didn't think some of these events through in terms of cars. They could have easily thrown in the Ford Capri grp.5, and both the BMW 3.0 CSL and the M1 procar. But it if they wanted to stay true to the late 70s early 80s American grp.5 racing series then wheres cars like the Porsche 935 that was in FM7, the Chevy Dekon Monza, and Lancia Beta Monte Carlo Turbo which was also in FM7?

I just beat the Daytona Prototype series and it's a similar issue. I know the Corvette and Riley MkIIXX were the prominent DP's in the 2010s but it would have been nice to either make this series a multi class event or have included a couple more DP's from that era like the Lexus, Pontiac or Porsche into this game.

They can't use the other cars as then they wouldn't be able to run a series with those 3 DP cars in Featured Tour number xx and the Capri/BMW/M1 in Featured Tour number yy. They are streeeeetching the events out.

In a similar way that the number of cars from the Mustang Tour that can be used in the Power Tour is zero, because each of those series in the Power Tour is restricted to 2 or 3 cars out of the 600. Which really irritated me as if those Mustangs aren't perfect for the Power Tour then what is? Especially now the Mustang races have disappeared into the ether.

Their entire gameplan is built on dripfeeding us endless series with 2 or 3 cars in for 3/4/5 years, because they can't think of ANYTHING else. Multiclass appeared for one month, but that was a blip and who knows if/when that might reappear.

This game is very fond of Chevys. The conspiracy theorist in me suspects that maybe the manufacturer dropped a lot of money on T10 to ensure their vehicles outperform the Fords in two-make races.
Presumably thats why the Mustang tour had to be one make, so they didn't get beat ;)

Chevy can be good at promotion. I return to this Superbowl commercial every so often.
Angel was ONLY 85 when I met him, he retired from barbering officially at 95 and is now 97 (and I hope still going strong). He received a Presidential Award last year.

Due to the crazy tight schedule we had for US66, I only got to spend 10 minutes chewing the cud with Angel, but considering all the celebs I've met, spending time with Angel was probably the most emotional meet I've ever had. His beeming smile is something you never forget :D

Lately i had been trying myself to not complain about people trashing this game, but the fact that i see 10 different essays about the game trashing while nobody talking about the positives annoys me, i saw almost NO VIDEOS talking the stuffs the studio has doing and the plans to make the game better in short and long 6term, but i see people trashing the game for not being what they expected like if they coud make 2 years work in a single yeaar

To make things worst, the same lies and stupid assumptions are being spilled away with a coat of racism/xenophobia on it now, a video that i just saw and that motivated me to post here asp had implied that most T10 contract workers were "Indians that dont liked cars and went to go take holidays in mumbai after their contract with T10 ended", not mentioning that there had workers that LIKED TO WORK with the game but were not able beacuse of the Microsoft cuts, that after their silence period ended went on to youtube to explain about it, BUT NO MENTION OF SAID DEVELOPER OR THE VIDEO HE WAS DONE

i am all for construtive critizism, Hoki videos, even if a bit negative, had shown the game still have potential and told that things were worst a year ago and are better now. what i am agnaist is some of unfair things that the game has that were caused not by the devs but a bunch of people in the marketing departament that dont even had contact with the devteam (and assumming how better the xbox marketing had became, probally they went fired so)

This type of thing is what makes me frusted, beacuse most unaware people take as truth and ended up unintrested in the potential of the game or worst

I hope the 10 year plan still continues, it has prooven that can work for motorsport and for upcoming gen, xbox just needs hang on with the game and keep ingoring the stupid critics while supporting its xbox fanbase, lunching stuffs that bring hype to the game like the NASCAR update, the worst thing that would happen is them giving up of the game and motorsport overall as i said over and over

If you want more cars like that go to Forza forums,. in fact i call everyone that can to go into Forza Forums, vote and talk about the cars and what things you guys want for the game, the most active the FM part of forums be the better

Licences and parternships tend to happen for both games at same time, even port of parternships

you want see a exemple? NISMO Festival at Fuji Speedway had both Forzas being marketed and Forza Franchise had sponsored the carparade segiment of festival

the problem with cars in the game is more about licencing of racing series in other games ( how the hell FormulaE decided make a exclusivty with trackmania of all games?) and probably lack of personal to convert those cars to the new game

I've seen wild claims in youtube like "Forza Motorsport is a abomination" or "Forza is dead",peoples cant catch a break.

I just hope we got a new road map soon for the first half of 2025,the second year of FM is promising tbh.
Bathurst will be a blast to drive with.

Honestly, if they just remove fomo aspect of the game, continue working on ai and adding modern cars that actually belong in 'motorsport', then it'll be all good.

Nonetheless, I'm just enjoying this game since launch, happy that Turn10 didn't gave up on it.

True, they need to ditch the fomo system who ruin the singleplayer experience,i just wish the game has a true career mode like in the older fm.
They also need to update some circuit and bringing back race cars missing from the older games.

The guy that did the "indian contractors" claim also claimed that "Forza is dead" but i also i think is exagerated, most data people pull data to imply game is bad are from steam (which was never THE target audience to begin with), meanwhile game is taking good numbers in Xbox right now, both in TrueArchivements and NewZoo it ranks the game in top 25/30 in most played in xbox right now

About mt. panorama, i cant wait for drive NASCARs on it

It was confirmed that they are reworking the career mode, I wonder if their new career mode will work on the FOMO issue, they said that would slowdown in timed events and bring back some events to be permantly part of campaing

I dont bother them bringing classic racing cars especially if they were not on FM before, also some racing oddballs like the some FM$ classics and new Road cars used in racing tracks such as Honda N-One or the Hyundai HB20 would be fun a lot too

They also need to update some circuit and bringing back race cars missing from the older games.
Depends of what cars of tracks you want, street races is more likely that wont go back anytime soon beacuse devs overall (not just T10) are trying to avoid them like the pleague due lack of time to develop such tracks

about cars, not only the licencing thing is a factor like i said but also there has the fact that some cars like VANS and heavy cars seems out of the game for time being since they want avoid hammers or people that do bad stuffs with such cars

EDIT: Here is the post in question i was talking about, be free to share it since lot of people seems unaware that it is even a thing

Relying on steamdatabase is not a good indicator of how forza going because players are mostly on Xbox but peoples can't make difference of it.

Tracks like Long Beach and other street circuits im fine without it.
I want to see tracks like Imola,Fuji, snetterton and few of them.
About older cars: i want the R390 GT1,Cayman GT4 racing version and the cars from fm1-fm4.

Still waiting for the creative Hub btw.

The way that entire video was presented bothered me quite a bit, I watched it last night. When he dropped the comment about Indian contractors I had to actually pause and take a second to think "did he just say that?". It's not very difficult to find an account from a contractor that was a big Forza fan either, because he posted a video of his experience working on the game. I'm not very hopeful about the future of this game, but I've got to admit that the video is just being negative for the sake of it. I'm so very tired of the YouTube doomerism at this point, it seeks only to throw a shadow over the actual complex issues that made FM8 the way it is.

Exactly, my problem is not about the criticism, is about the obivious trashing the game for views/ragebait sake while doesnt bring nothing new to the table
Hoki did bringed new stuffs to the table at same time he was saying "while they are taking steps to improve the game, i cant recommend just yet, for now go play something else and maybe come back once things had even more improved in the future", this another video was the totally opposite of that, and the Indian phrase only did that worse...

While that may be true, you can make an apple for apple comparison to the other Forza titles on Steam:

https://steamdb.info/charts/?compare=1293830,1551360,2440510

Forza Horizon 5 tends to be 20 times as popular as Forza Motorsport on Steam.

Motorsport’s all-time high on Steam is lower than the all-time low for both Horizon games.

the problem is that FM would be lower than FH anyways beacuse its something more "serious" than FM and PC has better options for that even if FM was FM4 levels of great at launch, such as BeamNG, AC or even iRacing, unlike FH that is pretty much one of its kind

so the question is how much of low is bad and how much of low is good? this why i prefer check the Xbox numbers instead, while they are lower than usual they are very constant and consistent for a game that needs it to survive

FH games are way more popular than FM
The FM state on the release didnt help either, with optimisation issues etc,it hurt a lot of its reputation, another proof of FM was released too early.

Oh i forgot to mention,im sick of peoples wanting a remastered version of FM4 when it will never happen.

no difference from the people that want a NFSU2 or NFSMW remaster even if EA said many times that the engine was not made to work beyond the 360/PS3 generation or the issues about topgear trio and the many cars that were there

Sadly, car fanbase is too much addicted in nostalgia and "wish things were like back then" type of thing

One aspect that is lacking in the game is the video calibration adjustments, which are limited to HDR brightness and regular brightness (for SDR) and unfortunately are shared between the console and PC (two different things).
But, thanks to a YouTube blogger, and having an Nvidia card, I'm trying with visual filters (alt+F3 during game) and now I can adjust saturation, sharpness, contrast, shadow detail, blooming and highlights!

But, doing this messes the starting game screen (the disclaimers and Turn 10 intro) a bit, but after that the game runs OK.

I've seen both of those videos and yes a lot of the "Indian contractor" video is rubbish.
Hoki did post an edit in the comments about being given tips on how to get bigger multiplayer lobbies although you shouldn't really need to effectively do a kind of "workaround" to get those.

I've also seen the roadmap from August. The comment above about a second roadmap isn't valid yet, as three of the important items are still outstanding from the first one. The share codes. The creative hub. And the career mode, which still consists of the same 90 races.

Incidentally, if you want a drag race, take the stock Demon to the Power Tour reward race. I tried it for the first time last weekend and instantly noticed that it STILL defaults to DRAG tyres, so you have to buy Street tires to complete the race properly.

The difficulty they also have is that some of that roadmap should, in many people's opinion, have been there at launch. Especially when you bear in mind the Creative Hub and Share Codes have been in Horizon since Forza Horizon -4-. The game when launched was inferior to Forza Horizon 4 in many ways (let alone 5). They should have not launched a game looking like the bastard kid brother of Horizon 4.

There was no mention of any UI changes in the roadmap - that is as it was at launch, objectively awful.

For example, what division is the Aston Martin Vulcan in, so that i can set up an Advanced Free Play for that division. Please use a stopwatch and let me know how long it takes you. Because the actual car screen DOES NOT TELL YOU what division the car is in. They had that in Forza Horizon 4 at launch.

They did also manage to alienate, at launch, the drift crowd, the drag crowd, and the livery creators (@PJTierney still hasn't seen anywhere near enough improvement in that, I believe, to create any liveries in FM23, which is a pity). None of those areas particularly involve me, but they do involve a significant (and vocal) minority of the game's fan base.

So they're still in the process of trying to recover from that.

They have come a long way, especially I applaud the more open approach to communication.

However, in my opinion, they can't properly rehabilitate the game until they reach the state it should have been at launch. When they get to that point and then move onwards (I do think they will get there eventually, by the way) they will rightly be applauded. But that might still be a year away from now at current speed.

Forza Horizon 5 tends to be 20 times as popular as Forza Motorsport on Steam.

Motorsport’s all-time high on Steam is lower than the all-time low for both Horizon games.

I don't think this quite tells the whole story. FH5 was released in 2021, since then GP subscriber count has increased quite a bit. There are likely a good chunk of players who may have purchased FH5 on Steam in 2021, but play FM on GP. I mean it's not going to bridge the gap, but as GP gets more popular over time I think it's going to make steam charts comparison more meaningless than it used to.

I've basically only done two designs, one at launch and one a few weeks ago to celebrate my club's 7th anniversary.

By this point I had done about 45 in Forza Horizon 5.

The lack of a Creative Hub doesn't help, as there's no motivation/incentive to make and share designs, but the bigger issues are the editor itself. To put it simply it's not as responsive as Horizon's, the lighting isn't as good and the whole thing runs at 30fps on Xbox Series X (Horizon runs locked 60). On top of that there's numerous issues when it comes to importing and loading vinyl groups.

I've seen both of those videos and yes a lot of the "Indian contractor" video is rubbish.
I saw this video yesterday, when it popped up among my recommended videos on the Youtube start page.

I was tricked by the title "Forza Motorsport is more than a disappointment". I thought to myself, this might actually be a nuanced video essay with constructive criticism and info about how the game has improved a lot during it's first year since launch.

Oh, how wrong I was. It was a stinky pile of incoherent rambling and statements that are misleading and wrong.

Besides the tasteless comments about Indian contractors he also claims to have discovered that the physics are basically the exact same as in FM7 but with a higher clock speed.

Excuse me?!!! Are we going to pretend like the change to the tire model didn't happen? So going from a single- to 8-point contact patch is the same now, is it?!

And then there's the changes to the suspension geometry and the introduction of anti-squat and anti-dive etc.

I played FM7 for 1400 hrs and I'm currently at over 900 hrs in FM '23, both on a wheel with all assists off, so I think I'm reasonably qualified to say that the physics are NOT the same. Not at all.

He goes on to claim that the problems with lift-off oversteer are still present, which is another point I don't agree with. Compare for example the Porsche #92 Porsche GT Team 911 RSR in FM7 and FM '23. In FM7 it was a twitchy death-machine. Trail braking or lifting off meant instant annihilation. Those tendencies are gone in FM '23.

Some cars still handle a bit strange and some kerbs makes the car spin instantly, but to say that the physics are the same is just plain wrong. And then there's the changes and improvements to FFB ofc.

But yeah, like we've discussed before, rage baiting and doom and gloom seems to give certain content creators a lot of views.

Anyway, here’s a picture of Sunset Peninsula during sunset. A combination which I think looks really good in FM '23 🤓

I agree sunsets look absolutely beautiful on Sunset Peninsula

If I tell you there is a way to unlock graphical enhancements for the game on PC for Nvidia users, would you be interested? I now realize what is lacking today but was present in the trailers: Lots and lots of postprocessing!

I will probably make a thread about it if you are interested.

The whole thing needs to be redone in Motorsport.

Not only the same issues for creators like you through multiple games (like OEM stripes/decals disappearing if you even think about doing anything like tint), but just searching for liveries is tedious & sometimes, you'll have to resort to scrolling through every one if there's a specific design you're after. Then, you can't preview it (which you sort of could in FM7 if you did it through Buy New car screen) & when you exit out, you go right back to the top result. FM2023 now has a bug where if there's a ton of liveries, the game will crash if you start scrolling down through them. It's one of my biggest gripes for the series & the only thing that makes it tolerable is the amount of skilled creators still working with it.
