Anybody notice the AI is a little more behaved since the update rolled out? Seems like T10 may have did a little behind the scenes tweaking again. Done a few races and they seem to be cleaner and even faster too.

And I don't know if im tripping but I think the tweaking they did to the Forza Proto-H cars for multiplayer hopper has made it's way to freeplay. The Cadillac V series LMDH dosent seem to understeer as much as before.

- although the '75 and '76 3.0 CSL race cars look nearly the same body wise there are some small details that are different between the two. The new '76 also sounds way better than the '75 which I wonder if BMW switched engines between those 2 years
I haven't touched the update yet, but the new 3.0 CSL looks to be the Luigi Racing car that raced in the ETCC and Spa 24h, which IIRC had the 3-litre engine. On the other hand, the CSL we already had is a works IMSA car... So, it should have the larger, 3500cc engine.

Still, there's no particularly reason the sound of the '76 Bimmer should be significantly more aurally pleasing. My suspicion is that this time around they managed to get access to a car (Luigi 001, if I had to bet) they could actually record sounds off, instead of a museum piece from BMW... But, for whatever reason, decided not to give the old CSL the new sounds. Baffling, eh?

I didn't notice any change in the 3 races I ran tonight. In fact the GT3 race I ran at Bathurst seemed to be even worse than before. AI cars flying into The Cutting way too fast, coming almost to a complete stop in turn 1 at the race start, slamming on the brakes coming out of The Elbow if you're directly behind them. The V8 Supercar race at Bathurst was a little less violent but still the pileup at turn 1 and the brake checking. I also ran a 60's Formula 1 race at Hockenheim and didn't notice any better behavior from the AI there either.

Interesting stuff. Could be they got access to a car for a proper sound byte and just neglected the 1975 version. There is definitely a noticeable sound difference between the two though.

That's pretty weird man. I never really have those kinds of issues with the AI, majority of my races especially in freeplay are clean and close. Granted I do tweak the PI restrictions and other options sometimes but even when I don't racing is still mostly clean. Only issue I have is the first 2 or 3 AI cars running away and being hard to catch depending on the track and division combo. So usually I would scale down the difficulty and tune my car some to keep up better.

Gotta say, the new BMW racecars coming to the game are FANTASTIC! But there's still so many cars from FM7, FH4, and FH5 that haven't been added to the current Forza Motorsport game yet (excluding SUVs, large trucks, offroaders, buggies, rally cars, 3-wheeled cars, 6-wheeled cars, limousines, vans, fictional cars, special franchise cars, Rolls-Royce cars, etc.):

Maybe its me but Performance on PC (RTX4080 super, Ryzen 7800x3d) seems MUTCH better.... Higher frame rates with full ray tracing everything on high en still stable.locked 90fps on 4k.... And stable almost no stutters etc (On TAA)

Only Global Illumination is still not good allot of ghosting still although framerate seems also better.

EDIT: With GPU on 80% power limit so its even better ;)

I found this on Youtube the other day. I agree with most of these suggestions on how to improve FM'23 and we've already discussed several of them earlier in this thread.

I took part in the playtest/beta of Update 16, during December, and it's nice to see that T10 have listened to the testers and fixed most of the problems that was encountered during this test. I highly recommend that you register for the Forza Insiders program and help improve FM '23. The program needs more passionate and knowledgeable people.

For once I'm very excited about most of the "new" cars that are being added. They sound very good too! The M635 Csi is one of my favourites.

I wonder when we'll get the next blog post with a roadmap of the coming updates during spring '25. It should arrive in January, right? It's also interesting that they didn't confirm, neither deny, that there's a new track coming next month. With the current 28 locations we're slowly approaching the 32 that were present in FM7.

  • Reverted the following tracks and locations to their original in-game branding:
    • Homestead-Miami Speedway
    • Hakone
    • Maple Valley
    • Homespace
this and the removal of NASCAR from multiplayer was a let down, i get it the idea is change as much as possible, but the NASCAR series was far more popular than the touring cars right now

Also, it was nice Hakone and Maple Valley get irl sponsorship, it made the tracks look even more real, i wish they could keep some of it instead of changing of it all the time

-The new BMW V12 LMR engine note sounds pretty good
- although the '75 and '76 3.0 CSL race cars look nearly the same body wise there are some small details that are different between the two. The new '76 also sounds way better than the '75 which I wonder if BMW switched engines between those 2 years. The new one also drives a lot more raw and race car like, I'll say good addition after all
-the new M4 GT3 sounds great and handles like a typical GT3 car
- and now the M v8 Hybrid... probably the best car in this update by a mile. Looks great on track, drives the best out of the three LMDH cars we have and sounds excellent. The turbo spool even sounds unique although might be a touch exaggerated since it never sounded that loud to me in person. Can't complain though. All the BMWs in this update sound great, the updated Enzo sounds just like the real thing and the '21 911 GT3 in-car sounds accurate enough.

Sucks we didn't get any bug fixes to go along with this update though. And hopefully soon they give us another long awaited road map because there are a few unknowns that would be nice to know...
I think, I could be wrong, that the '75 car is a 3.0 while the '76 is a 3.5, both are inline 6s however.

This may sound dumb, but one thing that is confusing me is the fact that BMW's LMDH already has some sort of custom livery even though the car isn't even available yet, is this because of the playtesters or something?

The same thing applies to the m4 gt3 btw

It's really cool, don't get me wrong, I'm just curious.

I wonder if these would be "choosable" as manufacturer paints? WEC as opposed to IMSA?

That would be cool, but unfortunately not, I suspect.

@PJTierney has shared with us before that the devs will give early access to prominent painters in the community so that some custom liveries are ready for everyone else. And given both of those cars are Valentino Rossi inspired, I'd wager they came from the same lucky member.

If anything, visually speaking, I notice that RTGI is more stable and less noisy than a month ago, and it may have gained some performance. At 1440p and high settings I average 70 fps in cockpit view, 80 fps in dashboard view, and nearly 90 fps in hood/chase view.

And I don't use the available upscaler (DLSS) and there is no frame generation available. Also, I don't use the high-resolution textures, which gobble 23.8 GB and would increase VRAM usage.

Now the bad... It has crashed and has some stutters during the cinematics that weren't there before... bleh.
