Audio [All Platforms]

  • Update 18 features the car audio updates for the 1998 Toyota Supra RZ [1654763] and 2020 Toyota GR Supra [1786443]. These fixes were originally intended to be released with Update 17, however due to an oversight, they were not included in the previous update. Both cars have received their improved sounds with Update 18.
  • Update 18 also introduces updated car audio for the 2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia based on community feedback. [1729130]
Rendering [All Platforms]

  • For some HDR displays, the game would automatically configure its HDR Brightness value below 1,000 nits which made the highlights in the image look flat and clamped. The fix prevents the game from automatically configuring the value below 1,000 even if the display metadata reports that its peak luminance is under 1,000. [1896256]
Gameplay [All Platforms]

  • Fixed throttle and lap time offsets after using Rewind. [1963547]
  • Fixed an issue where certain cars experienced a delay when shifting from first to second gear during a standing start. [1621855]

Well, still no AI in private multiplayer.
And now they've improved matchmaking, not to match people better, but to improve population of lobbies.

If they can't even get enough people in normal lobbies, chances of us ever getting AI in private lobbies is now screwed. Great. Getting more and more underwhelmed with each update being honest, as it's seldom any new features. Mind you, the existing features are so broken it's no surprise they're spending their time fixing them.

I want this game to be better, so so bad, and I still play it regularly, but god is it just saddening these days.

Saying it for the 1,000,000th time: STILL NO XJS

The cat's out of the bag: the previously rumored Lamborghini SC63 and Revuelto have arrived.

And I'm surprised, it took them about roughly a year and five months to finally add the latter.

Going to enjoy whipping that Lambo SC63 around Sebring then watching it live next weekend!
Such a pity it got leaked as it removes some of the excitement..

But let's not distract that from the fact that Turn10 have seriously been cooking! The 4th different LMDH added into the game after the Cadillac, Porsche and BMW. It's really good to see! :)

What I also really like about this update that it has something for anyone ranging from pure race cars such as the Lamborghini SC63 and the Oreca 07 to road cards like the Revuelto and Evora GT430 :)

And just look at this!

Enjoy seeing it in person at Sebring next weekend! I sadly won't be seeing it at Spa this year (saw it last year though :) )

The 2.4 GB update is now available for PC users (Xbox app).

I'm interested in the HDR fix. Sounds like it might be meaningful.

Also fun that the Revuelto was announced first on FH5, for 29 April, but it will actually be available in FM23 earlier.

Very excited to try out the SC63.

Hoping its a good car for liveries and doesn't have the surfacing issue the Caddy has.
It has a bunch of unpaintable area on it... That is of course unless they changed it after people complained, but seeing as they haven't changed other cars that have glitches (i30 N, Elantra N, CTS-V wagon, Camry, etc) or cars that had paint shop issues that were pointed out (BMW LMDh and GT3, CTS-V wagon, and I think I'm forgetting a few more), I'd be very surprised.

It's pretty frustrating. The community has been asking for less unpaintable areas and paintable window banners and stuff for years, they have to know we want it, but FM8 has actually gone noticeably backwards in this department, with even cars that previously had paintable window banners and wings and stuff in FM7 having them removed, and tons of new cars with the same issues we have all been grumbling about for years. Since this was supposed to be a fresh start for the series and "from the ground up" and it's still this much of a problem, I think it's best we just give up hope at this point.

Crazy how a lot of people were happy and jumping for joy with last months daily racers update but between here and FM. Net many people seem unhappy with this one. I understand the many gripes and why but it's also interesting.

In my opinion I wouldn't expect big issues to be fixed until the summer once they get past this early roadmap group of months. Once they lay out their plans for the second half of the year then we can see what they have in store but as for now through June-ish I wouldn't expect much except great car content and small fixes.

For me it was a bit of the opposite. I found daily racers fine but nothing fantastic, while the previous update driving the V12 LMR was a revelatory experience for me that I wont forget any time soon. I think I much prefer driving race cars in this game to road cars, which I often find myself spending a lot of time messing with upgrades and tuning to make them drive well. Road cars are still fun and have a place in this game for sure but as far as the weekly events the format fits much better with race cars to me, so I am looking forward to the new set of events.

Sadly it does appear so on the SC63. I've seen a few custom paintjobs on AI cars and the entire fin and rear wing + panel plus the bit behind the front wheels is carbon & unpaintable. MEGA bummer.

Example. Very disappointing. Although, thankfully the issue with surfacing doesn't seem to be an issue which is good. No layer on one area that also shows up on another panel when it shouldn't. Thats a positive. Do not understand why they did that though and didn't make it a secondary paint group for this car though. I hope they change it at some point but highly doubt they will.

I've never heard of the Black Horse R Challenge, but I would love a spec series for this car similar to the Shelby GT500 they've done in the past, may be a poor mans V8 Supercars series.
Its also known as IMSA Mustang Challenge, some races are shown on youtube, the idea is exactly to be a cheap entrance to racing

While I don't want them to start adding back SUVs and Ford Raptors and stuff, I'd love to see them to add vintage 2WD minitrucks to make the SCCA RaceTruck Challenge series.
I also dont want a heavy big pick up

what i meant was smalll racing pickups like NASCAR pick-ups or UK Pick Up racing, or maybe the touring pickups that used to be the supérUTES or Brazil pickup racing, while not much on market anymore, those are still racing a lot around the world

May update’s gonna look very exciting, given Forza’s 20th anniversary and this line in the January 2025 Message to the Motorsport Community:

“This includes a content update in May that will include a fan favorite track.”

This “fan-favorite track” for sure will be Fujimi Kaido, based on the forum’s track votes (1,802). The only track above that is Interlagos (1,900 votes), which is NTF.

Cars-wise, if Fujimi Kaido is the added track on May, we’ll prolly get a lot of JDMs, both “good Recycled” (Introduced in FH5 or 360 era cars) and “bad recycled” (Should have been in FM23 on day one) as well as some NTF cars, including a few fan favorites over the past 20 years via a special pack.

Here’s my speculation:

Forza Fan Favorites Pack:
  • 2008 Mazda Furai
  • 1970 De Tomaso Pantera
  • 2003 Nissan Skyline GT500
  • 2003 Toyota Supra GT500

The rest:
  • 1992 Autozam AZ-1
  • 1991 Toyota Sera
  • 1991 Toyota Chaser GT Twin Turbo
  • 1997 Toyota Soarer 2.5 GT-T
  • 2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition
  • 2015 Nissan #1 Autech Motul GT-R GT500
  • Nissan Figaro
  • Nissan Be-1
  • 1999 Honda Civic Si
  • 1984 Honda Civic CR-X Mugen
With Nissan’s blooming collaboration with T10, as shown with more Heritage Collection racing cars appearing in FM23 and the Pike Nissan Pack on FH5, more NTF Nissans may be possible.

I don’t understand what this game is trying to do. They keep adding all these cars and sometimes tracks on top of a shallow skeleton. Last year they did this roadmap in which it was promised that expired Featured Tours would make it to the Builders Cup before the end of 2024. Nothing happened and they just go on adding content mindlessly. Content is fine, but the game really needs structure beyond the FOMO stuff.

Servers being kinda questionable tonight, it was our league's season finale and we couldn't invite anyone to the game and no one had a "Join" button in the Xbox menu. We had to move through 3 different hosts before we found one people could actually join off of and even then it took several people several tries.

Then 2/3rds of the way through the race, caution comes out leaving me 2nd and my championship rival in front of me, who I had 8 points on (the difference between 1st and 2nd place) so am getting prepared for a duel to the finish for "all the marbles" and then... disconnected.

Despite frustrations with the state of Forza, we have still been having some pretty great races and the tire wear multiplier was a hugely positive change for the game and means we have been able to have some really interesting strategy battles throughout this season. We were running a sorta IROC-inspired Camaro with as close to real specs as we could get that tore up rear tires and made for several different strategy plays.

I highly recommend those who enjoy the game or want more from the game look into organized racing. It can take a little while to find a league that suits you timezone-wise and car-wise, but most have a pretty broad range of skill levels so there is always someone to race with, and it's much more fun lapping and building cars and racing together than it is alone and you can learn a lot about tuning and driving. The state of Forza has meant a lot of leagues are losing some people who are moving to PC sims and etc, so most would be happy to take in some "new blood." I suppose it should be noted though, I'm not sure I've ever raced at a league that wasn't somewhat frustrated with the state of the game and grumbled about it, so if you are overly sensitive to criticism for the game it might not sit well with you I guess.

The Camaro was a decent platform for liveries, only a minor bug with the roofline on the passenger side but in most cases wasn't even something you would notice.

I made a sort of "evil twin" twist on the Chaparral Camaro for my livery, a mostly-right replica of the 1980/81 Spa 24hr Luigi BASTOS Camaro for one team, the Faberge BRUT Camaro from mid-'70s British Saloon Championship that got renumbered to 11 for a friend, and a simple Wynn's livery that also got renumbered for a friend (and then only used twice).

Wish I knew anything about photography so I could take photos for ****.

Up next we are doing a Porsche 944 Turbo Cup series like was run in the mid to late '80s, but we will be using the ballast (another underrated and great addition to the game) as a sort of "rewards weight" system, so the faster guys will be slowed down as they get good results.

I don’t understand what this game is trying to do. They keep adding all these cars and sometimes tracks on top of a shallow skeleton. Agreed. As I posted the page before, it sorta feels like we don't have any real progression of the game even though content is being added, as it's not very cohesive or utilized as well as it could be. It's a racing game so it doesn't need a revolution by any means, but seeing some evolution would be nice.

I don't think they really understand either. It's just "car game" to them, so what could it need other than more cars?

i am holding faith interlagos with some Brazilian cars will show up anytime soon, giving the willingness to brazilian motorsports to show in videogames, popularity of forza/xbox in Brazil and the fact that the track has been asked for pretty well since game came out back in late 2023

but, about Fujimi, honestly it doesnt make any sense to me, as much i like japanese car culture, Fujimi is a road touge-focused track and would look far distant of the other tracks in the game, not mentioning that Forza Horizon 6 is rumored to come out late this year or on the next year.

the only execption if its a rebooted version of the track going alongside the already leaked track lines of Hakone (the end of mainstraight and the part after the backstraight), but depending of how it goes i dont think it will be fell easy with the fans that expect something like FM3/FM4 fujimi

The 3 Monserrat tracks are considered fan-favorites as well but are not well remembred like Fujimi are

About the cars, i dont see we having paid car packs, but i can see a Season 2 carpass coming since it fits motorsport more, but i dont know when they will do expecially since there has FH6 coming

If you had read the note they posted in january, you would known that the tour reformulation was delayed so they could work on the PS5 port of Horizon 5 alongside panic button (althogout they dont mention the PS5 port, the fact the updates comes back to normal exactly on same month as the PS5 port comes out, indicates that part of the team was temporaly transfered to help with the port)
