One good thing that can come of this is that sony's marketshare might drop a bit to more democratic proportions. Right now they pretty much got the market in their pocket with their 70%, meaning it doesnt even matter if they produce any good games, people will buy them anyway.

The PS2 didnt produce GT4, Polyphony Digital did. Extremely talented, focused and ambitious game developers. That's all that matters, whether on XBOX or PS2 or Gamecube or PC.

But Sony isn't the PS2, the PS2 didn't produce the game, the people developing it did. He was saying that it's not the console that makes good games, it's the dedicated people that spend ages making them that do, no matter what console they are developing for.

Is Polyphony wholly owned by Sony? I'm guessing yes, so yeah, it is a first party title then. I was hoping nobody would catch on. On a side note, is SOCOM a first party title (or is it just zipper interactive with sony as a publisher?)

I saw the Forza Motorsports (XBox's GT4 killer) video today and it looks quite impressive. I have been a GT fan since the first entry in the series. Do you think that Forza poses any threats to GT4? I'm worried that Forza will be the top name instead of GT.

If GT4 is not released before x-mas, i'm buying an x-box and Forza, x-box for x-mas?? sounds good!

SInce I have borrowed my girfriends brother in laws X-box for over 6 months, she decided that she is getting me one for christmas. Good thing since GT4 might not be released for another 3 months Yeah I said 3 months. Real good chance it will be another 3 months.

I have an X-Box but it's gathering dust. Probably it will get some airtime again if I get DDR for Live or if I'm somehow tempted into trying Halo 2, but I haven't even tried GTA yet and the PS2 remains by far the coolest machine as it has the widest range of cool games imaginable (if you haven't tried the Time Crisis series with light-gun yet, there's a nice distraction!). If you do get an Xbox better get it for Halo 2 or something. Even if Forza were going to be an awesome game (I'm betting more like decent), there's no reason to believe it's going to be out any time soon. Probably the two games will be released very close to each other, that seems to be the way these companies work.

tbh both machines are pretty equal if ya ask me, but I defiently SHALL NOT be getting GTA SA for the ps2, simply because I've played both the xbox and ps2 versions of vice city...

my brother got the crystal edition. It really does gleam.

And about consoles gathering dust... Halo 2 is like crack. Allow me to illustrate: I have bought quite a number of excellent PS2 games in the past month or so (R&C 3, GTA:SA, AC5 with a flight stick, Toca Race Driver 2 with a DFP, Viewtiful Joe, and Jak 3). I really like all of those games, especially AC5 and the flight controller, but once I opened up my limited edition Halo 2 package, I have only been playing that. Every time I boot up another game, it beckons me to play some more legendary, or to play with friends online. And I end up caving in.

So my point is... if just one awesome game is enough to make you drop everything else, then it is definitely worth buying an xbox for.

I tend to feel sick when playing FPS's on a TV for a while so no Halo for me, although my Dad seems to be playing Fable. Every time I see him I say you should have got Race Driver 2, but mind you he had trouble playing the first Gran Turismo so err yeah.

Anyway, i'll just go back to playing Pro Evo 4, Katamari Damacy and Xenogears. I refuse to buy any of the 'Big three' games that are out at the moment. Is AC5 any good? I've been a fan since the first game on the playstation AC4 was awesome but short though.

MY EARS THEY BURN!!!! NO ONE HATES HALF LIFE ARGGG!!!!!! There is no excuse, sell things and upgrade . Remember, £1 gets you a massive pack of weetabix, and those suckers will feed ya for over a week , weetabix for 1 year = shiney 6800 ultra.

Oh no, my computer is straight pimpin, bar the graphics card, case and faulty temparature sensors on the motherboard that went odd when my first psu blew up. Plus my monitor is pretty ****e as well. I did like the first HL, I think that, Doom and Quake 2 are the only FPS games i've realy gotten into. Most of the other ones made me feel i'll with all the motion and the swaying.

odd, the only games that almost made me vomit from the motion were Doom and Quake 2 (any quake really, god I hate those games).

Timesplitters in fullscreen mode was the worst for me, luckily most of the time I just played it 4 player which I could cope with. I still have doom on the PS1 I should bust it out to see what it's like I could remember most of the levels off by heart. I'll probably get HL2 when i'm happy with the state of my pc, at the moment its not and plus i'm saving for a better car so it can wait, just like GT.
