While we're posting Toyotas, lets get a couple of these in here. I've always had a soft spot for the 4Runner. Back in the '90's, my parents had an SR5 4wd. I always loved that SUV!:)👍

Caught this post-race at Chicago, Dirt, bent-in front facia, and all.

Though, to be honest, we WERE posting FORDS.

This thread needs moar Beetle

This is my friend Brian's 1970 Beetle. This pic doesn't really show off how badass the tires in the back are, looks real mean from the back.

EDIT:

Found a good picture of the back

And his Blazer while I'm at it, this is what a black Blazer should look like

Followed a friend of ours with a new wrangler down some badass muddy trails. Guess it didn't help that his wrangler is lifted, had 30 somethings, and he was stopping just to mash on it and cover the blazer with mud. At one point we literally had zero visibiltiy through the windshield because he slung so much mud at us.

My friend has that same roof light bar in black. He's waiting to put it on until he gets everything straightened out with it. The best part is he only paid $1k for it, deal of the damn century, although he has had to replace quite a few things.

Did you have to do a 5 lug conversion in the back? The rims on my friend's Beetle amaze me, 4 lug aluminum slots.

I like how the Beetle has trailer wheels, it's definitely 1970's/1980's awesome though.

They're like the old white wagon wheels you would see on the pickups of the 70's/80's, though now they are like trailer wheels since companies have moved away from the solid steel wheels. :P

Ah, THERE'S the Ram Raptor Fighter - Ram Runner. You can't buy it showroom-stock (and it's not road-legal, anyway,) but you can buy all the parts for it later this year.

Would someone mind 'shopping some '90s "Bear Foot" decals on there?

I think it's stupid of them not to sell it as a whole package. Can you at least order the parts and have them dealer installed when you get your truck? I want to see them on the roads.

I think there's the whole business of getting them approved for road use, but, yeah, you could buy the parts right at the dealer, have 'em on your truck, and drive away...just be careful when you sell it or anything. If there's an inspection, and they know about the illegal bits...well...

The parts aren't certified for road use. Basically done to make them easier to get to market, I read somewhere.

some aftermarket components, like the suspension on the Runner, must be certified before it's used on a street vehicle. Apparently strength alone doesn't matter when it comes to certification, and these are some hefty suspension bits.

Note, I also read in Autoweek that the truck sucked up so much sand from Jeepers and media members bashing it, that it ruined the motor.

I do like that sway bar setup in front. Reminds me, dare i say it, of a Monster truck...

I hope to see some Rams with this package. The Raptor has nothing on this baby. (looks wise anyway)

Well, it's also more serious, more of a competitor to the racing version of the Raptor than the street version. I'd hope we see a streetable Ram Runner soon, too.

Apologies for the Double Post, but I had to share this...

Bigfoot's running a '74 Ford body on Bigfoot 16 this summer!

How is it going to compete with a Raptor if they can't even keep sand out of the engine?

I'd guess that's due to the double-snorkel hood the truck has. anyone actually planning to race one wouldn't have that accessory.

But CLASSIC BIGFOOT. ewe

This thread needs more activity. Albeit on a small scale. Vitaras, Jimnys, Sportages, Pandas, Nivas.

Trying quite hard to convince myself not to pick up a Suzuki Vitara (/Sidekick in the US, I think) for about £500 to get me through next Winter to avoid using the MX5... Tiny 4x4s are very cool. It's a bit perverse wanting Winter in the middle of Summer I guess but I want to do a big snowy road trip next Winter.

The Vitara drop-side bed looks a LOT like a UTV...

Must say...Dad was trying to get me to get an Isuzu Amigo when we went out to look at the 200SX. There were two in the same town for sale.

I had to look up the Amigo. It's a funny looking thing, looks a little "Chinese replica of a proper car"... I'd definitely have gone for a Sportage or Vitara in that market. It's amazing how cheap early Vitaras are.

Not sure, we have the Grand Vitara, but I think what you have as the Vitara we used to have as the Samurai...which got a nasty reputation (no thanks to a certain rag) for flipping.

If we're bringing this thread back, I might as well bring back some good ol' Ford Ranger Off Roading!

Very pretty background too!

I like Rangers, and that's a particularly nice one.

Yeah, I've seen the articles and videos. Amusing, since it turned out that they were wrong anyway and the vehicle wasn't dangerous. Are they the same ones that did the recent report on that Lexus SUV (Toyota Prado elsewhere) and purposely drove it into a corner at 70mph and aimed for a high kerb in an attempt to show it was unsafe when you drove it into a corner at 70mph and aimed for a high kerb?

I hate the US consumer press for those sort of things. They're protecting their sales, not the public's best interests... anyway, that's another topic for another thread!

I think I have you confused though. The Samurai is what we got in Europe as the SJ410 and SJ413 - this little thing:

(Very much not standard)

And the Vitara is this (slightly bigger) little thing:

I have to say though, I rather like this thing, using SJ410 running gear...

I found a little recently-discovered footage which may prove something the Dane Bros. have been claiming for a long, long time...that their truck, King Kong, and not Bigfoot, was the first monster to crush cars.

It IS on 48s in much of the vid (converted from super 8 footage) so it qualifies as a full-fledged monster. also note: it's a Diesel. and, if you like Datsuns, well...the car run over was one. Sorry.

if it's any consolation, it wasn't old or rare at the time.
