To be fair, King Krunch, always a Chevy, ran a Ford body for the "Monsters on Main Street" event, which is sponsored by Ford, one of the title sponsors for the Monster Jam Series.
It does appear to be a Foot chassis, and Bob's done Chevys before... See this...
I think Ford's pulled their funding for 'Foot after Monster Jam banned them, since they now run the Monster-Jam-owned Blue Thunder identity. (Which, previously, was used on a Chevrolet Camaro!)
The jerks at FoMoCo! They don't even support real monster truck racing! Just the fake "Sports Entertainment" of Monster Jam...
However, I'm betting this is strictly for the All-Star game - Bob's running a '74 Ford body (posted earlier in the thread) in the Special Events series this season, as well as a powderpuff-blue Super Duty under the "Ms. Bigfoot" banner. (note, though, Ford doesn't even appear on the badge.)
EDIT: and now I'm gonna go off on a rant, here.
Part of the reason Bigfoot may be appearing at this event may be that Bob needs the money, which is fair enough - he's not allowed to appear in the nation's premiere monster truck series due to a footage squabble about 10 years ago. But I'm not sure I'd want to be part of that series, as I believe it's partially responsible for the downfall of professional monster truck racing as a whole.
You see, Monster Jam is owned by, believe it or not, a concert promotion company, Live Nation. They've even dropped the USHRA label for this season. Now, I'm betting LN is cheap as hell. They don't want to have to pay big premiums to big names to appear. You see, that's how Monster Truck racing has worked from the beginning - instead of chasing prize (and, thus, Sponsorship) cash, trucks are paid a certain rate to appear at a show. the bigger the name, the more you usually have to pay...at least, that's how it was, before Monster Jam came about.
You see, not only does Monster Jam OWN two of the biggest names in the "sport," Grave Digger, and one they built themselves, Maximum Destruction, They have enough other trucks in their camp that they don't actually NEED other teams to participate in their events! Popular independents like Jim Kohler's Avenger team, and the 2Xtreme trucks, Bounty Hunter, Scarlet Bandit, and *something* Outlaw, have to put up with lower entrance fees just to get in. It's partially why we've not seen any major technical advances in the sport in the last 10 years, and I'll bet that the '98-season PENDA trucks would be much, much quicker than any truck Monster Jam could roll up to the line against them...hell, Tom Meents's chassis design dates from 1989!!!
If I had unlimited cash, I'd invest it in making a major technology shift in monster truck racing. Independent Suspension, EFI, and Turbos, anyone? Someone needs to lure these guys away from Freestyle and get real racing popular again.
