I went 9 laps last night and didn't get a good clean lap.
It takes me a long time to get a feel for a track. I'm almost there now, so I have a better idea of where I can push a little harder and where I need to back off to keep the lap clean....but it's much harder in a car with all power and no handling upgrades.
I've probably run 20 qualifying laps so far...that's a lot for me on a short/medium track. I'm gonna lose my mind if I have to run many more on this one.

On long tracks like this I dont feel confident enough to push the car fully because one mistake and you are still left with a lot o trackntonget round. I tend to go for early breaking to get a good exit.

But that still doesnt help that my car is WAY under powered for this track and there is no way that I will be competative. THEN I go off the track and..........5 Min later I got to try to get last place again...Sorry but I got better things to do.......

The build that I got my fast time with is the E92 engine swap, race brakes, race diff, and sport tranny....that's it.
No handling upgrades at all....it handles worse than a stock Hummer, but it hauls on the straights. 
I think I can build something with a big turbo and street tires that will run about the same times...it only hits 165 or so, but it handles a little better.

Hehehe, I did a dirty 1:37 in the morning too, but didn't have time for more than 3 laps, have to see whether I can manage a few laps tomorrow, today I'm not home...
EDIT: whoa wait what, 1:37, both of us! Good thing you found that unused can of rocket fuel too! 👍
I just did the math, and it seems we both averaged a measly 502,82km/h.

1:37? You guys are going faster than R1 cars.
Looks like I'll be racing for 3rd place Saturday. I've run a bunch more qualifying laps, but I can't a clean one to save my life.....some dirty 4:42's is all I've been able to manage.

We sure are! Nah, don't give up man. You can gain that 3 secs in the two s's on the main straight by finding the perfect braking points (assuming you haven't done them perfectly so far). I could gain at least 1,5-2 sec there still!
I haven't even bothered with tuning yet, I just slapped on the ~530hp Shelby engine under the bonnet with the previous oval setup, and it drove well enough
A bit of a boat and ridiculously slippery and dangerous to drive, but pretty fast. You should tune it a bit for me, top100...

I can see where I'm leaving time on the track, but I can't seem to put a good clean lap together. Frustration is getting the best of me, but I'll keep trying. 500hp is crazy.....my car gets a little over 400 with the E92 swap but it doesn't leave room for any more upgrades.

I've never taken a corner perfectly in my life.
Try to slow down a bit and just concentrate on smooth corner exits. That's what I did to get those last 3 secs off. It makes a huuuge difference how you come out of those esses for instance! You surely knew that, but anyways...
Isn't the E92 engine a V8? If I remember correctly it's got all the power in the top end of the rev band. Surely requires proper gearing to work well? Good thing about these American engines is, you get all the power all the time

I'll probably make one more qualifying run before I call it quits. Yes, the E92 is a V8....but once I do the swap, I don't have enough PI left for a race transmission, only sport tranny....it works out pretty well though....my problem is I'm not taking the best lines thru the corners like you said.

Just get MORE POWER!! I have 384hp.
I dunno what I did with the rocket fuel but now I only got 4:37.2xx Forkone is going to get top 100 again without a LB car.
However I do have some sad news...Road Atlanta will be my last race with you guys. Well until next season, (if there is one with Horizon and all) only if there are races on Sundays. On the 23rd I go to a new shift well just earlier from 930pm to 6pm EST.

Noooo! Hamster, I need you to take first place in every race that I can't win before you leave us....if we keep Forcone from winning 5 races, that will help me win the championship.
This will probably be the last season for me. I've become a Forza junky....I need to stop neglecting so many other games.
