I do not see it listed yet.
It’ll be available on Friday, December 6.

Edit:

This is a classic feature.

GT4 did it best with other cars on the track. That should also transfer to GT7.

GT would have died as an infant if PD added nonsense features like that in its early life. SMH
Eh... to be fair, Music Rally's system based on checkpoints is as 90's arcade racing game as it can get (check Ridge Racer for instance), so I don't think it would have died if it was a feature on GT1/2 lol.

you all are so short sighted.... this demo is not so much for GT7, but for the future of GT series and showing how things are as of today... where it could go from here without showing anything...

you have to extrapolate and trust the process...

did anyone of us imagine or think much about how things would be when we first played GT1 or GT2, or whichever GT you started with ? Even Kaz probably didn't know, but if he did, he is 100 steps ahead of us...

This is a demo to mark a milestone, waypoint from which new path will be traced...

if you are not seeing it, then you will never see it...

the Demo is not so much about things that you can see, but rather it is for things that you dont see and can be...

dont try to understand or read too much into it, but just trust that we are still on track... the important message here is that the train tracks of the hype train still have ways to go, it is not ending, unlike Forza where it is going no where but downhill LOL

I see this Demo as a positive thing... you all are so negative with your limited understanding....
It's on PS4 mate not doing much for the future, it's about 10 years in the past.

Thats why I bought a 60GB PS3 when it came out.
You bought a PS to play a demo of GT or to play GT ? That's not the same thing. I bought a PS5 to play GT7, because I was playing GT Sport (and some previous GT too). That's not as if I did not know the franchise and just bought an entire console just to try a demo and decide if I like the game.

The marketing for GT7 said it was going back to the roots with simulation mode and look where we are now. I won't believe it until I see it. You could argue it's not coming from Kaz's mouth directly but "Simulation mode" was text flashed up in the reveal trailer so he likely approved that.
young Padawan.... speaking like simpletons... Sorry to sound condescending, but when you have many years under your belt, you are able to see things differently and much further and beyond the visible...

Dont be too stuck on what the marketing team is putting out...
AGain: it is not so much what is being shown, seen, heard or written, but it is more with what cannot be seen, and beyond the here and now...

It is actually awesome that they made this DEMO available on the PS4, because Sony knows there are still so many people around the world who have not yet jump over the PS5.
and they want this DEMO to be a way to bring those who are completely new to GT to start their journey on PS4 or PS5, and that the next chapter in GT will be a great one....

Kaz is not oblivious to our moaning.... I still have hope that GT8 will be the GT2 x GT4 ;)

In 2006 I got a new 1080p TV and PS3 to play demo GT HD, one track and several cars. The only other thing I bought from what I recall is House of Flying Daggers to test the blu-ray. Dont think I bought any games until prologue.

How damn condescending can you be?

Look at GT7. The game is a FAR cry from the classics game design wise. It's the worst in the series from that perspective. And it was billed as a return to form.

Until I see it, there's no reason to believe it. Because PD have shown nothing to signal an improvement in game design. It's all well and good talking about classic GT and going back to the roots but the career structure of GT7 shows that they are off the mark on judging what people liked about their game. Clearly Kaz has a different idea of what classic GT is.

To be honest, this series has been going downhill in so far as actual single player gameplay since GT4. The furthest back I go, in terms of what I've played, is GT3, but I've got a good amount of time in every GT since then. Nothing is as fun to play and progress in as GT3.

GT4 is number 2 because it's in the same vein as GT3's career but with more of it, but worse AI - and this is subjective - but I think it's less visually interesting as well. Lots of overcast, afternoon tracks.

I highly doubt that. Everyone who is a fan of the racing/driving genre, if they have a Playstation, is going to buy Gran Turismo games - even if they aren’t very good.
Maybe. Personally i preorderd GT7 25th anniversary without hesitation. But my first impressions of the game were disappointing, especially regarding the career. I think many people were/are disappointed in that part of the game. So i can only hope PD is going to put more emphasis on that part of GT8.

A demo for GT8 like this one now before the release would be fantastic.

I completely understand your feeling and opinion, and you are absolutely right from your perspective. I am not denying your point of view. Putting myself in your shoes, and even standing where i am, with all my years with GT since 1998, i agree with you. (Edit: i never played GT3, i had to skip it due to school at the time and thus never knew what it was, so i dont know what you mean how great it was, but i do trust you and everyone here with fond memories of GT3)

having said that, i am very much excited to see what Kaz and PD will bring forth with the series in their next iteration.

in the meantime, i want to see GT7 evolve and improve for at least 2 or 3 years more

GT5 is worse.

I'm not defending the café system, but it's far more forgivable game design than "24 hour race that winning doesn't give you enough XP to level up to unlock the next 24 hour race" was.

Couldn't agree more. GT3/4/5 were fantastic.

Also completely agree. Lets hope for many fantastic updates until GT8.

I think a lot of people took this statement:

The very short official blurb states that it will “include some of the favorite cars, tracks, and race events that evoke the nostalgia and excitement of the very first GT experience”.

..and ran to the moon with it. Key words are "ENVOKE" NOT REPLICATE/REPRODUCE and "THE first GT experience" not YOUR first GT experience. IE. Gran Turismo Test Drive. I feel like some of you guys wasn't even alive for that so that misunderstand WAS believable this morning.

typical marketing word salad to get new players on board, the demo is not for disillusioned seasoned people like us... ;)
heck, its just putting words for words sake...

when you are 7 or 10 or 12, you dont care about words, you just want to try out stuff...

This demo is for the eventual new comers and future disillusioned like us...

My bad. I was misremembering the blurb. I swore it mentioned have classic themed menus - that's where I was hoping they did more on it. I retract my initial post here.

That isn't great, very poor actually, but I think the rest of the game outweighs it - for me at least. Whereas GT7 is poor from lights to flag for the most part, certainly for almost all of the main career if I recall, GT5 is overall of a higher quality design wise imo.

From the more open career to the closer rolling starts and not always starting last, for me I'd take GT5 over GT7. Even if the design choice on the endurance is inexcusable.

EDIT: Apologies about the double post. Will combine into the single post next time.

Bit of a weird comment with a lot of assumptions made there.
The only piece of information I can deter from the game is there has been no actual lessons learnt in terms of providing a game that the players want. The Sunday Cup, as per the trailer, still remains a 3 lap sprint, starting in last place, with 1st half way through the lap. This sucks for everyone and forces a linear playstyle where you have to be in a car exceptionally faster than everyone else. There's no semblance of actual racing. No fun.

If they had learnt a thing, and if I were to have any optimism about GT8 from this trailer - a Sunday Cup, in a demo designed to invoke nostalgia, would be a 6-12 car standing start event, like how the old games were.
I haven't seen a soul, new or returning, state they love the chase the rabbit formats. I moderate the (unofficial) GT Discord and the only commentary I see there from new players is people asking if it ever changes, which it doesn't (barring like 6 events).

All this demo suggests to me is that they are likely to double down, again, with the design language that has been plaguing the series for the past decade. And I find no optimism in that.
