Alright guys, here is the drill for Indianapolis 500 week.

FRL INDIANAPOLIS 500 QUALIFYING
After the CHEVROLET GRAND PRIX OF INDIANAPOLIS, The top #12 in pts will be locked in and the remaining 4 spots will be qualified in on speed. Note this will be 3 spots if I am in the danger zone - it has been suggested to me in PM by some that I should get a guaranteed spot as host.

These "danger zone" drivers I will know for Monday. They may qualify anytime during the week. All that is required is 2 drivers including 1 from another team to be present in the lobby.

Lobby settings will be usual race settings, with 6 laps being set on the lap counter, from a grid start. Lap #1 is to bring you up to pace, with #2, #3, #4, and #5 counting as laps. Lap #6 is a warmdown lap. The average across all 4 laps will be used as your time. Should you fail to complete a lap / wreck, you will have a +1 second penalty applied to your time per lap (this is to prevent people posting potentially 1 or 2 blinders and then stacking it in the wall on purpose to prevent there average from rising). Note that you may only attempt Qualifying once through the week - no re-runs permitted.

The Qualifying deadline is 7pm BST 22nd June - basically when room opens for the FRL INDIANAPOLIS 500. However as a bonus, 5 points will be awarded to people who attempt to qualify but do not make the race.

FRL INDY LIGHTS FREEDOM 100
Saturday night just after the ToCA race, at approx 10pm BST will be a 40 lap Indy Lights event in the WSR Ralt F3 from the Senna tribute.

ALSO FOR THIS WEEKEND:
Drivers with a confirmed starting place are
@Spurgy 777 @Ninners @LancerEvo7 @Roflwaffle @Matty @Pluxtheduck @RedPartyhat @FlyingFox @rustyMercedes @hsv @Siggers @chrisjohnson93 @Furinkazen @DrifterJoe @CAMikaze . 1 entry is open for @Niop as he is part of a team.

Following drivers in are either in reserve status in case of any drop outs for this weekend or understood to be scheduling an attempt to make the Indianapolis 500 next week.

@R0ssingt0n @gtpanoz @Yeratel84 @SagarisGTB @MatheusBond @cnd01 @Ganon83 @JakobNascar88 .

Was hoping to do this weekend's race as a warm-up for the 500, but it turns out I have father's day plans. I guess I'll have to try to qualify with no competitive running in the car.

I imagine I'll still have to do the Indy 500 Qualyfing run for where I'll be starting on the grid then. As for the Indy Lights event, that's on the 21st, right?

Fingers crossed I'll be off Sunday for not only catching the finish pf the Le Mans race, but taking part in the Indy GP as well. :)

Lights event probably won't need Quali - I don't think everyone who normally races would be available at late nights.

Lights are going to be very drafty. Around 155mph solo, gain a lot in draft. Oh and we will run them on SH tyres.

Standing starts with pace laps are great; I think they require more skill as you can easily false start and get penalised or you can be too cautious and lose time/spaces, whereas with a normal start, everyone gets off at the same speed regardless.

They have lights now anyway so it's the same just without going round for a pace lap.
