Alfa didn't look too OP in race 3 though, managed to hold him off for the whole race.

But yeah pace wise it was pretty fast but the straights do play to it's strengths, we don't know the Renault could have faired against it.

Look I'm just calling it like I see it. The way it breezed by cars seemed a bit crazy, esp for touring cars.

It reminded me alot of Le mans in 4.2 how the Scirocco passed with no effort then cars couldn't even pass in it's draft.

It was 2nd fastest for me around Brands Indy (pre update) how the update changed it I don't know. I also imagine with it's drifting tendencies the GP loop will make life harder.

But this season is over and done with spec wise all that's left to do is race.

.

Because it has stupidly short gearing, it tops out at around 135mph everyone else is geared for about 160+ looking at the replays and how much rpm is left.

Well some cars like the Nissan are detuned so much that the power is in the mid range of the revs.

It's like the Mini in S7 Furi thought it was slow as he was redlining it etc. With my gears suited for the power band it was actually fastest over the Scirocco around Cape ring.

Sometimes it's not best to set gears so short. I am not 100% but I think the Focus has it's main power in the mid rev range.

I'm guessing specs were decided from testing the cars at the default gear ratios, otherwise that would've messed things up a lot...

I agree, around 1500rpm below redline I fond to be best for the Focus. Kept losing speed onto the pit straight through changing gear and bogging down.

The Focus has peak hp from 5.5k to 6.5k RPM. The Alfa has peak power at 6.7K.

No....

Who on a race weekend uses bone stock ratios?
No, I mean if two cars were tested both with custom ratios, its possible that the custom ratio will benefit one car more than another, and that might warrant a power limit even though both of the cars are already equal if there custom ratios suited each of them well, therefore making one car disadvantaged.

Would you like me to list the gear and drive ratios instead?
Nobody said anything about that. You seem to always talk about your car topping out as though you can't adjust the gearbox.

hsv

Well in real life racing and on here when people talk about gear ratios they meantion the speeds they would top out at rather than specific ratios, in fact I've only ever came across one person that does that.

  • Scirocco to return with RPM fielding all 4 cars
  • Dax makes another short return
  • Furi gets a podium(shock(not)

And half the field excluded for having rim size and tyre profile out by an inch ;)

I watched a Silverstone replay and you were running higher in the revs than I would. I'd be changing up at 7500 rpm and be treating that as the red. I wouldn't want to be much higher than 7000 rpm in top gear (6th I think) either, since the most power is at 6700 rpm and starts dropping off after. You hit arout 8200 rpm without slipstreaming, so about 1000 higher than I'd go.

Only a couple of cars in the field benefit from revving as high as they can.

  • Mazda Pig Special wins a race
  • Tyre wear increased to very fast for extra action
  • Bathurst as opening round

Very fast tyre/fuel use, but no pitstops allowed.
