So ToCA11 commenced at Brands Hatch Indy layout for a 2nd season and it looked like a somewhat similar story to previous seasons. The SYM team, now in Nissans of
@snowgt and
@Yeratel84 took wins as did the Lexus of
@gokartman78 when it wasn't being rotated into the gravel.
@DrifterJoe had a strong opening and team mate
@Furinkazen had a strong weekend with his first ToCA podium in a season the highlight.
At Silverstone however Renaults Humberside Racing team made a power move. They swept the events, with series debutant
@Andil winning either side of
@Scaniabebe . Silverstone also marked the season debut of
@Ninners with 2 podiums - we would hear more from him later on.
Willow Springs USA was a flat out challenge for Week 3, and whilst
@Andil grabbed another win,
@Ninners moved into contention with a double of his own.
@DrifterJoe had a shocker whilst the other Ford of
@Furinkazen had been running well until a mistake resulted in a near flip into the back of the pit complex.
It was then onwards the for the inaugural events at Apricot Hill Raceway. All 3 night events and a few tweaks had made life very interesting. The Ford certainly had been changed, and whilst still potentially as fast, was much harder ro drive. Renault's engine unit was looking unfathomably strong as well, the car unmatched down straightaways.
@Andil took two wins with
@snowgt who has come close to the title twice before taking a much deserved win after a frustrating season of seemingly being ToCA's dartboard. Further back the venerable Honda Civics of
@Siggers and
@Roflwaffle were also showing speed.
Spa is always a real drivers track and
@Ninners stole back the initiative in the title fight with 2 wins.
@Yeratel84 would take an SYM Nissan to the front again for a win in Race 3, whilst
@gtpanoz would drive heroically to take a brilliant 5th place in the final race of the day in the uncompetitive Mazda.
Nurburgrings' stop start nature has always provided tight and combative racing and tempers spill over. Series returnee
@DaxCobra exemplified this with a win and then a rather blatant take out on the Nissan of
@snowgt that in the end did more damage to the Renault than the Nissan. Crucially,
@Andil outscored
@Ninners,
@Yeratel84 would take another R3 win, and
@Holdenhsvgtsr would show how the Alfa Romeos development was going with several good finishes.
Silverstone however was a curveball. Renault skipped the race for budget reasons.
@Ninners got 2 podiums and made sure the title fight would remain alive going into the Brands Hatch finale.
@Yeratel84 and
@snowgt would win, taking massive steps to cementing a record-equalling 3rd consecutive Teams championship, whilst
@Holdenhsvgtsr would take Alfa's first ever ToCA win. Going into the Brands Hatch GP finale, it is going to be an intriguing final.
