K my thoughts: At the end of my stint at BHGP I was getting caught by Furi in his "worse tyre wear" Ford, whereas earlier in the stint I was pulling away. So what advantage is there? Maybe numerically on the tyre gauge there is an "advantage", but I certainly didn't see any advantage in terms of actual pace.

It's more of a measure because Fords have much worse tyre wear end of the day, so they get slightly more over a lap. Also worth noting slightly less power for you increased your fuel economy and less wheelspin for you...

Yes but that's what I'm saying - on the tyre gauge in theory your situation is worse. But you were catching me at the end of my stint (when I was on "better" tyres than you), so where's the advantage?
