So after reading through the thread some people were complaining about the cobra, I decided to test it myself:
I have spent the time tuning my Ferrari for HSR and getting it to lap the fastest it can under my skill level. Then I jumped in a cobra which I left with completely STOCK suspension/transmission settings. In a 30 lap stint I was within a second of my Ferrari lap times almost every lap, so with tuning the cobra can definitely match it. Ferrari had about a 2-3mph speed advantage (could also be fixed with transmission tuning?) but cobra made up for it in the corners.
The thing about the cobra is it was just so much easier to drive because it was more forgiving through the corners (Ferrari has fixed toe/camber settings remember). While they are matched on this track I can see how cobra would be quicker on the twisty circuits. Also I had slightly improved tyre wear on the cobra as I could control it more easily.
So yeah I think the performance specs are about equal but to me it is the ease of drivability that is putting the cobra on top in this championship.
With HSR its just basically whoever doesn't stick it in the barrier that is going to win #lastCornerPileupsImminent.
Oh one more thing while I am writing a largish post
: while I appreciate the diversity in extra classes I think it would be better to have more drivers in the same class as you so we have more people to race and are not bored out of our skulls halfway through.
