Frozen: the most overrated movie ever

I'm suprised I didn't see this thread. I haven't seen Frozen yet but I'm already irritated by the hype surrounding it. Just from the bits I have seen and read it looks utterly average. How on earth can this be the best Disney film in history? The problem here is that people go and see what the media tell them to see.

Also its basically a rip off of Tangled which is probably my favourite modern Disney movie which makes my dislike for it even stronger. Its song 'I See The Light' is a billion times better than 'Let It Go' and although it was nominated for Best Song at the Oscars sadly it didn't win.
How can you even make these judgments without having watched the movie?

Frozen and Tangled are hardly alike, I don't understand what connections you see between the two movies.

They're 3D Disney movies...and...and...they have girls in them?

IMO, there's plenty of meh/bad Disney movies that Frozen beats out.

Overrated as all hell. It doesn't deserve the praise that it gets. Mediocre movie.

The Lion King is the best Disney mover ever made, enough said.
IMO it's the Emperor's New Groove. It had a great story, cast, you get the picture. Close second is Beauty and the Beast.

Anyways, on topic. I saw Frozen in theaters with my family and it felt boring. I almost wanted to leave the theater. I do not get why it has an 89% on Rotten Tomatoes. It was hellishly overhyped, half-assed final product. Same with other movies such as Despicable Me 2, any Transformers movie, etc.

For, err, understandable reasons I really don't care about princess movies, so I haven't seen it other than random clips, but I seriously doubt it's as good as the true all-time great, A Goofy Movie.

Go ahead, you tell them they're overrated!

Not the most overrated movie ever, you're thinking of Star Wars (I - infinity).

Hope I was able to help there, dude. :D

I had no idea it was rated at all.

I enjoyed it when I watched it. I wouldn't watch it again, so it wasn't amazing or anything, but I don't feel like the time was badly spent. For a musical movie, which I usually dislike, I found myself mostly enjoying it and having a few chuckles.

But there's got to be at LEAST half a dozen Disney movies that are better.

I've always thought that a TV show, movie, or videogame fanbase has gone too far/is overrated when there are fan-arts like this one, putting the main characters in another context.

I've never seen that movie, so I don't think I should have an opinion about it.

But I can tell by this fan art that this has got out of everyone's hands already.

One example of what I've just said is the My Little Pony fan base... :boggled:
These guys have gone WAY TOO FAR AWAY with their fan arts (I'm looking at you, 4chan)

I never said that I hate it, but it is strange, sometimes I find some fan-arts cool...

And I must apologize because I really meant to say that the fan-bases of cartoon TV shows, movies and videogames... Usually they take the characters to another context that has no relation to their original context, and/or draw them in suggestive themes, positions, or actions, that's what I really meant when I said they take it far away, I have nothing against it, but it is... weird... :boggled:

Oh, it is very weird, and sadly very commonplace across a wide band of the internet. I'm sure many psychological studies have been done on it, may make for interesting reading.

As it stands, most 99% of fanart is in the realm of harmless jokery or crossovers with other stuff. You soon learn to evade the...less savoury stuff.

I wonder why animated characters are interpreted in other animated situations?

Does sound a bit odd right enough.

I did not like Frozen at all. I guess musicals just are not for me. I don't mind some singing here and there like in the Lion King but dang Frozen just was not enjoyable at all. I dont know how someone could even think of saying this is better than Lion King. Frozen was downright painful. :ill:

I still love the Lion King. I also have it in 3d. :D

Personally I find Lion King is more driven by nostalgia than genuinely being a great movie. Still, Be Prepared is an excellent song, especially with that 3rd Hyena Reich.

It is ok but that is it but to be fair I don't really like family/children Disney movies with a few exceptions (like the already mentioned Lion King and my personal favourite Emperors New Groove ).

I found Let It Go to be a great song but it doesn't deserve a grammy but I didn't care for the other songs but the song with The Rock Trolls should hit the musical grave.

The characters a mixed, I liked Elsa and Anna was ok. Didn't care for Kristoff. Olaf was one of the most worthless characters I have seen and Hans was such a weak Antagonist making Total Dramas Mal looked like a good antagonist
