Ive always said the weight reduction rule is silly for AWD cars it make no sense think about it 4wd cars are slow has hell in gt plus they use the tyres faster so why do they have to be full weight.Yet on fr cars wear in general is much slower andthere faster and have better tyre life.the only time your restrictions would be accurate is if you were using comfort hard tyre at 480 plus pp but you guys you sport hard tyres.I'm not here saying the restrictions should change but they needs to be looked at after all I know exactly how fast all the cars are if I was a member of the lots council I'm sure I could make a few modifications to the classes I'd bet money that I can get the classes and racing more even. You guys have known me for ages now I believe lots can better and that's what I want for you guys to have a better experience of gran turismo.I'd like to know your thoughts gents I'll be around.

Feel free to share your suggestions here with us.

We tested for months before deciding on that weight restriction for 4WD.

Sure, they understeer more, and wear their front tires far more than RWD. But the fact of the matter is that the game doesn't simulate the inherent flaws of 4WD effectively.

Things like brake fade, torque-steer, etc.

Also, too many people have the tendency to use 4WD as their 'secret weapon' when all else fails them. There by greatly reducing the variety of cars on the road ... not enough people driving what they really want/like because they cant keep up unless it's in a 4WD car.

The nature of our courses, what with steep inclines and sometimes long stretches of uphill, gives the advantage to 4WD.

Another reason was to keep the balance of power/weight/PP competitive between all drivetrains. The Imprezas and some EVO's can get below 1250kg when reduced to Weight -2, and some even below 1200 w/ Stage 3.

When that's the case, you'll see a lot of the same Subarus, which is exactly the problem.

Fair enough dude.trust me when I say though no 4wd is very fast in this game I'm thinking I might jump on in the next week and show you guys the fastest and best 4wd is the r32 premium but that's no match for most fr car in terms of lap times.

idk man, the R8 4.2 is pretty fast. Would give an M4 a run for its money.

What's easy to drive and what's actually fast is 2 different things.
And then there's the cars that combine both.

Okay so lets do this I want you guys to tell me what are the top 3 4wd and fr cars at 480pp and at 530pp based your you current regulations.
In your view.
Well, for B class: Subaru Impreza Spec C '04, Subaru Impreza Spec C type RA, Evo IX if tuned properly, most of the old first generation Impreza's, Volkswagen Schwimmwagen. A class: S206, Evo X, Audi R8 4.2, GTR V Spec and M Spec Nur, R35

You seem to be out of the loop, so I'll fill you in.

The whole concept behind a 3-pronged regulation system is to have the best available cars in each class be at/near the class limits in stock form so as to give other cars a fighting chance.

The point is that you won't have a car to meet all 3 limits. 2 maybe, but not the three.
-----

Fastest cars in each class:

C:
  • FR: FC3S, Miatas, AE86, BMW 2002 (my personal favorite here, but I'm not too fast in it)
  • MR/RR: MR-S, Alpine A110, Ferrari Dino, (Elise is still banned)
  • FF: there are so many and they're all pretty similar, but the EK is still the easiest to drive here
  • 4WD: That little Daihatsu, I can't remember the name
    • This class is probably the most balanced right now because of the tires and the low power.
B:
  • FR: S2000, FD3S
  • MR/RR: 3400S, NSX-R, Esprit's (all of which are near stock, and with an oil change they become ineligible ... Which is the whole point).
  • FF: DC5, Volvo C30 R, EK9, Focus RS (late model)
  • 4WD: WRX Spec C, WRX Type R V/VI, Evo VI RS
    • Because of the PP limit, you don't see very many NSX's because they're basically stock in this class. You also don't see very many FF's because a lot of them are at their limits of adhesion in this class and that makes them harder to tune and drive. Thankfully you get to see a far greater variety of FR's and some obscure 4WD's here like Galants, wagons, Volvos, and Fairladies are more competitive here now.
A:
  • FR: BMW M4, FD3S Spirit R, Ferrari California (near stock)
  • MR/RR: Esprit, NSX-R, RGT
  • FF: This is really up for grabs, not many FF's are run in this class but if I'd have to guess, the Volvo C30R, Focus RS, and DC5 would be tops here.
  • 4WD: Subaru S206 is almost untouchable. Audi R8 4.2 is on par. The BNR32 is very fast here, but not nearly as easy to be fast in as the other two cars mentioned. The base R35 is the only R35 eligible here (that's on purpose)
    • The S206 is the only car here that's been questioned if it is to be banned, so that should give you some indication as to its speed.

I don't mean to put you down, but you should watch how you express yourself on the thread because your comments come off as confrontational and we dont want no part of that, Dewey (Walk Hard reference, if anyone has seen the movie).

Like I said before, if you have any suggestions, we're open to them. But also, understand that we didn't just come up with these regs just for the sake of having new settings.

We tested these for about 2-3 months before deciding on them. That's not to mention that since our reboot earlier this year, we've been slowly evolving towards the current setup. So you could say it's been nearly a year in development.

The whole reason we created the council was to decentralize the power within the league/club. So no one person has the ability to change rules or regulations without a majority consent.

I accepted the responsibility of taking over management of the thread myself, but reached out to our community for help. And the people that were selected (I'll be honest, we weren't elected) were based on their merit, contribution and dedication to LotS. Also taking into consideration their different styles, philosophies, and connections to groups within the community. Call it birth of a [Touge] nation.

A representative democracy for the good of the community with the number one priority being balanced competition. Our system isn't perfect, but it's up to you the drivers to bring to our attention any flaws or issues with the system so we can work towards a solution.

You haven't mentioned any issues, just that you disagree which is the fastest 4WD on the pass. You're entitled to your opinion, but it doesn't circumvent the facts, B. (some NY slang for you, my guy).

EDIT: fixed typos

that is so hard to read lol...

you're making a fool of yourself, man. People are laughing at you ... At least I am, because you don't seem to be paying attention to anything that has been said.

Or did you even read the regulations?

The classes aren't only PP. There is no 420 class. C class is for cars UNDER 1000kg. Have you even looked at the power/weight limits for the 480PP class?

Please, don't embarrass any yourself further and READ the regs thoroughly. I feel like you aren't even paying attention to what anyone is saying.

Also, proper punctuation goes a long way so others can actually read what you're saying.

Thanks!

We will see soon enough if I know nothing.

What does that even mean, John Snow?

Idk what it if you're trying to prove. But just need sure you read through the regulations properly.

I'm off from work this Tuesday, so I'm thinking of hosting a tournament in either Power or Balanced class at a course yet to be determined.

I'll be getting home around 2PM EST that day. If we get at least 6 people in a lobby, we can have an official tournament.

Snake you may want to hold off on this for a few days cause you have only given 2hours notice for this maybe make it for Friday or something gives more time for the guys to prepare.

That's my day off from work this week, so it's gonna go down whether you're there or not. As long as 6 people join the lobby, it'll happen.

If I have Saturday or Sunday off I may host another one. I used to host them more often, but have been busy with work. That's why I haven't been online much lately.

Tournament at Aogashima!! Room ID: 1472-4711-0167-3382-9223

No! Aogashima is too autocrossy. For Real, Bayside City Lights. Room ID 1472-4711-0167-3382-9158

Wouldn't that mean the same for Mercedes-Benz drivers?

I wouldn't think so. Mercedes is very much like Toyota, in terms of design and engineering philosophy.

BMW and Honda are very similar on the same respects.

You can make the same comparison of Nissan and Volkswagen/Audi.

The way their cars feel and handle, to the placement of buttons on the dash and instrument cluster arrangement.

If you include American cars, it would be:
Ford, Mercedes, Toyota: Chevy, BMW, Honda: Dodge, VW/Audi, Nissan.

In essence, the same jokes/memes that apply to BMW drivers could theoretically apply to Honda ppl.

Also, I just got home and will be getting online very soon. I had an unexpected engagement after class so I am late lol.

I'll be on in 12hours from now if I see anybody with a lobby open I'll pop in.I won't be doing much racing I'll be tuning and getting my feel back.

Whats up Lots crew? my shifter broke in the middle of a race about a month ago : (
