Fuji 650pp :10 & :40. GTP Event 2 Practice Race.

Am I a fast guy? Maybe not, but R3s. Setup in TLD.

Thanks for the heads up on tire choice. :sly: REALLY. I was using R1's last night and boy was it a mess. Loads of understeer, terrible braking, and a lot of on power oversteer. I just tried your tune with the R3's and did a 1'42.759 after 5 laps or so...feels like a totally different car with the R3's 👍 Thanks

So all those 1'42 times were using my tune? *Hopeful*

Beat my best lap at 19:35 race. Good race too. Couldnt get past that lexus though. Good one GTP_Calcifer. 2 more laps and you probably would have had both of us...👍

I am happy both that I don't have to race this week and that hopefully it will be another car next week...

Yep, the 42.7xx was with your tune but with the gearing altered. 👍 A little while ago I did a 42.604 with the DC tune and custom gearing. I think with some luck and slight changes to 5th and 6th gears I should be able to get a .4xx. We shall see.

I'm behind wheel tonight, so come to 'Practise-event', or if you want full-simulation with delays at start, I'd liked to do that also.

My driving-time starts about 19 GMT, and continues so long than my eyes works properly. (that may not be many hours. I have six-pack in fridge)

Ok... just send PM to me when youre online, and I will answer to you when I can. 👍

what PSN ID will you use? i'll be there with GTP_MeAgainstYou ;)

btw.. jack is just great! i had an awesome race with him and PrudentB yesterday... thats why we're combined because jack won in the finish line :ouch: and that was in a normal race without waiting 30sec.. so i PMd him to "pratice" .. thats why we are combined :sly:

Nice practice session yesterday with GTP_MHJ, GTP_alexi, and GTP_JvM...thanks guys

It was a pleasure. Our race looks like it's gonna be close, probably coming down to who makes a mistake, as you said last night.

Last night i put in a 1.42.8xx..most times i am doing low 43s.I have put in a very low 1.42.xxx with slipstream, and i have finished a total race in 17mins and 19secs...:).Hope this helps you Timppaq.

I have a question for the mods.

It looks like some of us will be missing the deadline for the one on one races due to either real life limitations or non-responding partners.

What will happen if we miss the deadline? Will that depend on the nature of the miss, will the deadline be extended or will both players be dq'd?

:nervous:

what total times you lot have been getting while practising? just curious.. 👍 :)

I clocked a 17:13 a few days ago, starting from third IIRC. That was with lap times consistantly in the very high 42's in free air. i reckon I can shave some time off that total race time though, as I can now run in the 42.7-42.9 range quite consistantly. A few days ago I had a 17:11 lined up thanks to the help of GTros_Ramons draft in his NSX, until I got some lame penalty at T13. Best lap with the help of his slipstream was a 41.5xx. Anyway, let me know how you do...I'm sure a lot of us will be quite humbled haha :dunce:👍

Here is what was posted in the original thread -

EDK
Time Frame:

  • All races must take place no later than February 9th, 2009 at 11:59 pm GMT. You must send a PM to me (EDK) before that date and time.
  • If you are unable to make contact with the driver you are paired against, PM me (EDK) with the details within 48 hours of the event deadline.
  • Failure to agree a date & time (Or make contact according to the procedure above) before the deadline will result in disqualification.

You've contacted me, your partner has not. When it is clear that one individual is making an effort to participate and the other is making it difficult, I will DQ the person who is making it difficult. So please just keep some evidence that you have attempted contact.

Keep in mind, my original rules for submitting an entry included -

  • Each round will last 7 days. Drivers who cannot complete a round within the 7 days will forfeit their race
  • Each participant will receive a one time grace to use at a time of their choosing to account for vacation, holidays, work travel, etc.
  • If you won't be able to adhere to these time lines, please do not submit an entry.

I even made the first week easy by posting the race early and giving everyone 2 full weekends to complete their races. We want a lot of participants, but we want to keep this moving. Thanks for staying proactive, Steven. My reply is for the benefit of all. 👍

 It's amazing how fast you are with the pad 👍 and I'm somewhere there timewise.. I'm guessing it'll take under 17:10 in free air to be able to race Holland.. so still honing the race tune and hoping for some big improvements. 👍

:banghead: to myself for not reading the rules carefully enough and  for you to take the patience to answer another noob question

I surely hope he will contact me soon so we can have our race.
