Which way around Cape Ring? I can try both ways actually don't worry - I'll go check now.

Judging from the fact my MINOLTA Toyota 88-CV lifted the nose there I'd imaging the 'vette ZR-1 RM does too!

I ran it the last few times with the jump before loop. It was the configuration in the All-Star race. The track is much tougher that way around for me...

There are some really nice flowing corners in that direction though ;)

I've just hit that jump at 140mph both ways in the 'vette ZR-1 RM and both times it took off and the back came down before the front. So yeah the nose does lift.

Also to the guy above wanting the list - it's already on the forums I believe at the bottom of the Master Car List thread which is pinned.

edit - no it's not. Hold on I'll find it and post it here.

Acura NSX RM '91
Chevrolet Camaro SS RM '10
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 RM '69
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C6) RM '06
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6) RM '09
Dodge Challenger R/T RM '70
Honda CIVIC TYPE R (EK) RM '97
Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC5) RM '04
Lexus IS F RM '07
Lotus Elise RM '96
Lotus Elise 111R RM '04
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX GSR RM '05
Nissan SILVIA spec-R AERO (S15) RM '02
Subaru IMPREZA Sedan WRX STI spec C Type RA RM '05
Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) RM '95
TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM '00
Volkswagen Golf IV GTI RM '01

As far as I know they are all Premium cars?

Yes, those are all Premiums.

I've seen that list in quite a few places, but does anybody know of a list showing how much the RM option is for each of the cars? I have a hard time believing the Capuccino will cost the same 385,000cr to modify as the ZR-1.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but if you mod your car that already has engine/exhaust, etc upgrades on it, you don't lose or have to re-buy them. Yes, after the mod it seems like they're gone. All you have to do is select the car, go to tuning, and re-install all the parts you had before the mod. I did this on my already modified S15 thinking I would have to re-buy all my upgrades but when I went to tune it, I saw my parts were there and I just had to re-install them at no cost.

I race modded my Elise last night (Don't bother) and it cost 110,000 ish.

Read the OP again. Install RM on NEW Unmodded only or you lose out.

@ Blayney...Thanks for the list. Added to OP.

My list of RMs so far...

Acura NSX RM '91 - - 415bhp max
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 RM '69 - 550bhp max
Lotus Elise 111R RM '04 - - 309bhp max
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX GSR RM '05 - 519bhp max
VW Golf IV GTi RM '01 - - 324bhp max

Is it worth doing a RM conversion?

It depends. I like to set personal targets so IMO yes it is worth it.

VW Golf IV GTi

Standard = 318bhp/7500 - 1065kg - ALL mods - Nurburgring time 7:36.298

RM Modded = 324bhp/7500 - 980kg - ALL mods - Nurburgring time 7:04.502

I'd say a difference of over 30secs is worth it.
The RM costs vary from about 115,000cr up to 385,000cr for the ZR-1.

Just added car list and some of the prices to the OP.
Will add the rest when I can.

in reality and in the game, modding a road car is just bolting on aftermarket parts, you can only get soo far with out making custom parts and redesigning the suspension, tubing out hte chassis for lower center of gravity etc..

Race modding would be tubing out the chassis, reengineering the suspension links etc.

The head-to-head results are very much what I expected. And should settle the question if the RM is worth it.

so you can only perform Racing Mods on "naked" cars? good to know :)

question: in the end, which one is better? Racing Modded car or Street car (both with full upgrades)

I was trying for the longest time to win the "Historic" race in the Expert category. I had an older Lambo that got lambasted every time I tried, I tried maxing out an older Cobra, I bought the newer "SEMA" Mustang that looks like it's got NASCAR underpinnings but got rejected. Even though the year of the car says '71' I guess it was considered a "NEWER" car since it was modified for SEMA.

I probably spent over 4 million trying to get the right car to win that darn historic race. Then I decided to lookup online which cars are modifiable to be 'race cars'. The '69 camaro was one of them so I bought it, Performed the RM, and upped the mods to max afterwards. I was a bit bummed when max power was less than 600hp.

I gave it a try anyway... With some mad late-braking I was able to get in front, and stay in front winning 1st race (Deep Forest?) by over 10 seconds.

Then came the 2nd race... At Col "DZar" or whatever name they've given the "MONACO" track. This was much more difficult as they kept giving the Toyota "7" the pole position from which it would just LEAVE. Well re-entered about 4 times until the Ford Mark IV was on pole...this gave me a chance to jam my way into 2nd or 3rd..finally outbraking him in the chicane on about the 2nd or 3rd lap. I went on to win but BARELY! It was by far the most challenging race for me of all the races up to lvl 23.

RM for the win!! The Camaro GRIPPED in the corners like mad after the mods. After I get done w/what I'm working on now I'll probably go give the '70 Charger an RM try. It looks to be another cool one!

Cheers all!

Trial Mountain Dry

All assists off bar ABS = 1, Soft Racing Tyres

Corvette ZR-1 C6 RM '09 - 1:18.347
Corvetta ZR-1 C6 '09 - 1:24.642

Yes RMs ar worth it.

For what its worth I still dont see the point in the race mod option. I have used it only once to my detriment...

First car I bought in the game was the Civic Type R

Fully modded it manually and it made 488bhp

Bought the Aero Mods

Then noticed the RM option and spent the 110,000 credits on that.

Then noticed my BHP was down to 197bhp

Re-activated whichever modifications I could (i hadnt lost them, they had just been deactivated)

BUT.... my bhp only went back up to 388bhp, so I lost 100bhp along the way.

Aside from the racing paint scheme the RM mod gave me nothing aside from less horsepower!

So what's the point?

Have you tried going to tuning and re-applying your Engine Stage 3 mod? I had exactly the same problem.

Thanks for all the info here. Especially the list and lap comparisons.

There needs to be a lot more cars that can do the race mod though. Maybe in a future update...

Watch out about the RM's though. They put the transmissions in really short ratios, (obviously designed for tight, complex tracks,) and I entered the Classic American Series using a RM Challenger R/T at Monza, and had to restart the race and change the ratios in order to get more speed because I couldn't get past about 146 MPH. And you guys know Monza! Really quick! So watch out for the short ratios they give you!

Hope it helps!

Sadly, what the RM's won't do is allow you to take on 'real' racing cars ... or at least my Tuscan in the All Stars couldn't beat the big boy LM's .

I had a great battle with the Bentley Super 8 tho' - much fun tackling him in the corners then watching him eat me alive in the straights :). 885kg is nice but it seems that 546HP is not quite enough to leap the gulf between GT class and C class :). But that's what you'd expect really. It's just a shame that there doesn't yet seem to be a series where the RM cars have a true in-game purpose ... of course I haven't done them all yet so I may well be wrong? :embarrassed:.

Errr, no one ever said that, and if they did, they shouldn't have. You can RM a fully modded car but you'd waste more money doing that than RMing a stock car.

Acura NSX = 205,000
Dodge Challenger R/T '70 = 175,00
Honda Integra Type R DC5 = 117,500
LEXUS ISF = 166,500
Lotus Elise = 137,500
Lotus Elise 111R = 134,500
Subaru IMPREZA Sedan WRX STI spec C Type RA = 188,000
Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) = 114,500
TVR Tuscan Speed 6 = 175,000

And that ladies and gentlemen is how you waste cr.2,000,000+. I've got the Silvia as well but it was RMed a while ago and I don't wanna buy another. I think it was in the 175,000 range, not sure.

Got all 17 full mod, now thats a good waste of what has to be over 5m

That's quite the thin bezel on your TV...

HAhah you're incorrect. The light you see in the background IS the bezel. It's glossy black and what you see is the reflection of what's in front of the TV, not what's behind it. Good optical illusion, I fell for it for a second.

In my experience with the RM, it will "cancel out" your existing mods you installed, but they will be in your items list. You don't just lose them, at least I didn't. Now it is smarter to do prior to anything else. Also, I have the ZR1, race modified it, and it produced more bhp and had a lesser weight than one without the RM. Getting the livery IS one of the benefits, albeit cosmetic. You can paint it but only the base coat on the front third of the car will be changed. I for one dig it and run 43.000-43.400 on INDY with it One more thing, the ol' oil change trick still is around, so my ZR1 is over 900hp.
