I should clear up in that the picture with the two dudes getting ready to kiss, they aren't actually two gay dudes, they just did that to screw up the picture. It's something called photobombing, where someone in the background will purposely do something like that to screw it up.

I imagine those pictures were taken from a fair distance away.

Apparently the bears are not actually that likely to attack you, when they approach you they're being curious and it's how people react to being approached by a bear that angers them (running away/showing fear = triggering the hunt reflex).

I was amazed by a documentary I watched a few nights ago, where a camera man was getting in the water with several Grizzlys while they were trying to catch the salmon swimming upstream to breed.

The bears got seriously close but because the camera man kept his nerve they just sniffed and got bored, even before feeding. If you can show them that you're not a threat they shouldn't attack.... hopefully
