Just the first two lines are true enough.

When you work with 5/6 year olds, Halloween is epic. So much sugar and revelry, not to mention I get to wear a Slipknot mask and scare the pants off of them! Not literally, obviously, that would land me in court.

As a fellow Brit i'm still in the 'Stop trying to make Halloween a thing' camp, although i concede that i'm standing against a millenium-led tide of people who also accept school 'proms' as a normal British activity.

Halloween is a thing if you’ve an Irish background and appreciate the festival at its roots. The Americanisation of dressing like a cowboy and begging for snacks is probably what puts a lot of people off.

Personally, I indulge in a good dose of Halloween as All Saint’s Day is something I’m keen to remember. For the pure fun of goofing around it’s worth it, if not for the fact that I’m on the other side of the world with regards to my Irish forefathers.

Plus it’s great excuse to have a party. And who doesn’t need that once in a while?
