Victorian couple trying to get a photo taken but they can't stay serious

It's adorable. I find it somewhat unbelievable given how long the exposure times of those old photos were. For example, the last one doesn't seem like a pose that would have been held for nearly long enough to be clear. It's hard to know though, because it's hard to know how old the photo is. A quick search didn't reveal a quick and obvious debunk.

Depending on when it was it's also likely that the photographer would have been manually changing the plate between exposures... why bother once they've lost it... perhaps he too found it adorable.

Where it's actually just a modern set being used to take a silly photo. I'd love to believe that it's really a super old photo, but the last photo really gives me pause.
 
The smoke detector actually looks like its the one on the left, the one that caught fire looks more like some kind of occupancy sensor ?
