PD issued a tempban from GT7 for Samuel (and presumably the other drivers involved).
GTS92 has ejected Samuel, Mateo and Martin from the team.
Mateo has also been removed from PRiMA Esports… and he is completely unrepentant about what he did going by this tweet:
I don't think you understand how the internet works...Lol great behaviour ;d Also worth remembering how he totaly plebbed final race and he got champ only because of amazing drive ealier by Mehdi and Kokubun ;d On the other hand people should relax a little, they got banned, thats enough of punishment. No need for witch hunt on social media.
Probably doesn't want to burn any bridges yet, looking at the other Tweets the ban is only 1 week long so he can race in nations next week.
This is eSports, everything comes out eventually.

Unfortunately that's not true. It only came to light because they accidentally implicated themselves leaving a mic open during a live stream. It is certainly good that PD are able expose someone breaking the rules.
…
I would like to think PD would tell them to do one if they qualified through it just for the image problem.Wait what. They can race on nations? Thats unbelievable

Here is where the 5 day ban is mentioned btw:
VPN?And if the same account logs in from Europe and America within minutes
This particular bit is Sony's fault rather than PD's - once you make a PSN account it is country locked forever. So they can't make a "your IP and region must match" rule otherwise they're effectively saying nobody who has ever moved countries can enter (or encouraging multi-accounting to get around it). There's actually no rules from running 1 account in any region (Unless that's changed recently, but I always checked this when I was competing).
If the organizer has spotted the fraud and took action, I don't think sponsors will be annoyed. But I don't know, overall, is this bad or good for GTWS image? You know, sometimes even bad publicity is better than no publicity, but from another angle these fraudsters could harm the competiton in sponsor's point of view.
That's what the owner of Twitter does so, I am not very surprised. That other guy Karl Etyemezian might be an even bigger moron. You let another guy use your account and then you brag about 'your' result on twitter? Embarrassing. These people have a lot of growing up to do for sure.
For comparison, Jose Brea says he was banned for 3 months in 2020 for jumping manufacturers using an alt:So the only penalty PD dished out was a DSQ from Manufacturers and literally nothing else.

ARE YOU. FREAKING. KIDDING ME.
They should have been banned from the entire Nations season at minimum.
Jose Brea: In 2020, due to a mid-season BOP [change] that left Alfa Romeo in the dust, I switched accounts and raced with Lamborghini. (3 months ban [for the offense]).
What was discovered today—people racing with other drivers' accounts—is much more serious. (Points deleted, to be continued.)
Outside of eSports there is no reason to have to control players actions. It is not a necessary bad. What is bad however, is thinking always online is beneficial
He is the one that confuses me, they all cheated but the other 3 are doing it for a reason, to help teammates or boost their manufacturer score for their own benefit. He is not with GTS92 or Renault and should've been safely locked in so what was the big idea 🤷♂️This mister Estevez is acting like a trust fund baby that never has to go out in the real world to get a job. Here he is on social media under his own name telling everybody to go **** themselves. If it is "only a game" why go to these lengths to cheat to begin with?
The answer : win by cheating is funHe is not with GTS92 or Renault and should've been safely locked in so what was the big idea 🤷♂️
Talking about GT Sport, I'm glad for Polyphony making an offline patch for it when the servers shutdown. Hope They can do the same thing on GT7. Totally different from Ubisoft regarding the first The Crew game.I agree. The save files being online only, I understand sort of (but there are plenty of better ways to prevent the save file hacking) but it seems like more than just the save files are online only in GT7.
In GT Sport, at least if you were offline, you still had your full garage and could drive on any track you wanted to with arcade or custom race (even before the offline patch I mean). Isn't GT7 limited to just cars you can rent or something? I haven't even played it offline yet but I heard you can't even race the cars you already own even though there is still an offline save just like GT Sport.
A lot of uncertainty from me surrounding GT7 offline. On one hand I know they have to keep UCD and GT Auto open and functioning since you need them to install a widebody and a custom wing in the one of the books. The UCD is also needed since you buy your first car from there. The uncertainty comes in about the Livery editor and LCD. What's to stop them from removing access to them?Talking about GT Sport, I'm glad for Polyphony making an offline patch for it when the servers shutdown. Hope They can do the same thing on GT7. A have an idea for keep working the LCD and UCD on GT7 after an offline patch: Polyphony can use the same UCD system as GT1, 2, 4 and 5, that changes the available cars list after each race you participate. But about livery editor, I don't know.A lot of uncertainty from me surrounding GT7 offline. For livery editor I am concerned the most about since with the LCD (and even UCD) they can move all those cars to brand central, but I'm not sure if they learned their lesson from GTS and made GT7 livery editor have local native saves.
They'll probably just use the same system they use now, with the exception of the server sending which cars to show, it's the local game deciding that.A have an idea for keep working the LCD and UCD on GT7 after an offline patch: Polyphony can use the same UCD system as GT1, 2, 4 and 5, that changes the available cars list after each race you participate. One would assume, but there are plenty of other easy things PD has yet to do. Don't count on them to do what is easy or what is logical too for that matter. They'll probably just use the same system they use now, with the exception of the server sending which cars to show, it's the local game deciding that.
Either way, it will be very easy to implement once GT7 will be shutdown and (hopefully) receives that offline patch.
Remind me again, what exactly is at stake here, other than bragging rights, for the winners? Is there prize money involved? Sponsors aren't allowed, right? There's no FIA affiliation anymore. Usually when people resort to something like this, there is a measure of greed involved. Just curious. This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:
