Funny/Strange News Stories

You're so far down the rabbithole I really have no idea where you are going with this:lol:
Yeeeeeaaaaahhh...I, you and everyone else that regularly participates in this subforum knows very well that a recap is completely unnecessary.

Can you take a breather, Tex?
Where and when behavior of which I disapprove persists, I'm going to call it out. The behavior is not in violation of the AUP (something that I suspect is carefully calculated) and, as a result, it's not appropriate to report it, but I will be careful to observe the AUP in my objection of it, and that objection itself does not violate the AUP.

I'll also note that it was probably wise of you to reframe the comment as it was directed at me, because its previous incarnation (the one that I myself had no objection to because I fully understood the intent behind it) would surely merit an objection from a certain individual inclined to advise others not to tell users how to participate on the forum...or it would have had it not been in service to him and his agenda.

To be honest when I mentioned sniping I thought it was a golfing technique.
Oh it is; low-hanging tree limbs are a common instigator. (See...I golf as well, but I'm not compelled to change the subject to golf as a means to deflect when presented with critical questions or assertions.)

... par for the course?
:grumpy:

I hate that that response didn't occur to me.

A snipe shot is not a technique so much as it's a mistake if you hit it off the tee. It's a low hook shot that doesn't go very far. This guy is conflating the two and he's incorrect. A stinger on the other hand is a shot you want to hit. While Tiger didn't pioneer it he made it famous. Tiger's trademark stinger is a low and punchy 3 wood off the tee that has a long roll out but is kept low for control and consistency while sacrificing some distance vs. a well hit driver. It can also be hit with a longer iron or even a driver. Tiger used it under pressure a lot, on tight holes and quite often at the British Open.

How stupid do you have to be to google 'hitman' and believe that the results are what you want?
I would expect this.

As an aside I'd disagree. I just spent a week working (trying to holiday) right on the border of Northumbria and whatever the big bit at the top's called... it wo'maftin'.
Think it's started getting sunny now. Means we are all going to die, going by scaremongering press standards.

Seems to me this story is right up there with the Flat Earth crowd in terms of believability:

Struggling professional “Call of Duty player” Douglas “FaZe Censor” Martin dumped his weathergirl girlfriend Yanet Garcia to spend more time with video games.
Announcing the decision on YouTube, the 23-year-old revealed that he and Garcia, 26, had split up, saying “I don’t have time for a girlfriend.” He went on to say that he needed to focus on playing “Call of Duty,” and would be playing the next iteration in the franchise, “Black Ops IV,” full-time while she was “doing that job over there.”
For information purposes only, this is the girlfriend he's giving up to play videogames:
