Turns out there's a South West Trains employee that reads the news, hence why the Portsmouth to Waterloo service this morning was named Trainy McTrainface.
It was never a popularity contest - they said they'd pick the names from the public suggestions but not according to public vote, as they were already acutely aware of the results of doing things like that.Sadly it seems that this will be overruled
