G35 vs Skyline GT-R what is diff

What is the chassis code? VQ35? I forget, but the V35 skyline = G35. And no, we dont get the full skylie range of engines (i think). Thats why I asked to see what the range is for Japan right now.

Not sure of the full range but I know they have 2.5's and 3 liter engines available in coupe, cabriolet, sedan and estate variations.

In Japan the Skyline sedan and coupe (there is NO estate or cabriolet) are available with 2.5L I4s, 3.0L V6s, and 3.5L V6s. Only the 3.5L V6 (Skyline 350GT) is offered on the G35.

In Japan the Skyline is also available with a CVT transmission which is not offered on the G35. This is the Skyline 350GT-8.

The "wagon" version of the Skyline is called the Stagea in Japan. It's possible that the Stagea will be brought to America as a G35 wagon.

There is no convertible at all of the G35 or Skyline.

I saw one in an issue of EVO they called it the G35 estate, maybe it was a concept.

Every body here is going on about the new GT-R. because I started this thread i will try to clear it up. What are the differences between the current Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT, and the Nissan Skyline GT-R which has just gone out of production.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only difference in the G35 and current Skyline range in japan is the engines offered. I believe over there you guys are offered a large range with much smaller engines with lower power, correct? The highest in the current skyline range is the 350GT, or GT350 - our G35 coupe. Am I correct?
You're talking about Japan when you say "you guys"... right?

Anyways, the badging is different (of course), lefthand drive on the G35, and of course as you mention, the Skyline Sedan comes in 2.5 and 3.0 litre engine and spec options ( called 250GT(m, e, Four), the 300GT (Premium, Four) and the 276hp 350GT-8 with the CVT 'mission. The V35 Skyline Coupe comes in only the 350GT and 350GT Premium.

Hahaha! Thats what I was gonna say...

Theres NOTHING in common with the V35 Skyline (or G35 if you insist) and the R34 Skyline GT-R... nothing.

thank you The359 for clearing it up that the G35 is in fact a skyline coupe 350GT and not some V35. BTW the engine in the G35 is the same engine in the 350Z US-Spec and higher model 300ZX's. There is also a AWD G35 that is as close as possible to skyline specs. As for the 2007 R35, I hope it becomes reality as you can see by my avatar i am a big fan of it. For some reason my bro, gt2_drifter still thinks the R35 will look like the G35 even after seeing my dozens of pics of the R35 prototype. Notice i saw prototype becuz a concept is a thought, a drawing and a mere production idea but a prototype is a working fully functional/drivable original of the car.

The Skyline Coupe 350GTs chassis designation is *V35*...
So... therefore... the V35 Skyline is the same car as an Infiniti G35. whats so hard to understand about that?
